Heh, it looks like the show is taking the cast to new places like New York. Hope Colette and Takt learned something from this experience since they are destined to their roles now.

Kinda interesting to see the more glamorus lifestyle of the city life in a foreign country. And plus, there's casino. Titan seems excited anyways. The battle was kinda cool though. With music, action, and chereography, it took place in a casino hall and not something you'd see often these days.

Titan is so cute in this episode, Now they are in Las Vegas.

Lenny's lessons are very useful, now Destiny and Takt's teamwork is getting better.

I love the way Titan runs lol.

More training for Takt and Destiny under Lenny and Titan's tutelage, to handle their powers and fight the D2s more quickly and efficiently while on the way to Las Vegas.

On a decrepit side of Las Vegas, lies Jonathan's (Lenny and Titan's friend) farm of animals and crops abundant from the community of people whom have lost quantities from the D2's rampage, and thanks to the Symphonica, pushed them back to rehash their lives anew with hope. This Mr. Lang (which is a reference to famous Chinese pianist-cum-conductor Lang Lang) on first impressions, looks like an utilitarian (which he's not in true colours), and Lenny and Titan bought themselves a welcome party with Takt, Cosette and Anna being their "kids".

Playing music to bring happiness to people, albeit play them and the D2 will appear outta nowhere. That's still the policy of the Symphonica in order to protect people's lives, and it's still the same.

As expected, there're D2 monsters lurking around (of which most is Cosette's gut feeling from mere vibrations), and that corresponds to Lenny and Titan's go-to place...of a casino? Certainly weird to see a casino out of nowhere, and the bird-brain Cosette is all action and no words. The give-or-take rhetoric between Mr. Lang and Lenny to gamble their lives, and it's the D2s that crash the party. Conductor Leonard's lessons of achieving the power of harmony between Takt and Destiny, and everything is made to achieve the musical "masterpiece".

The symphony synth of a harmony, and this is where both Lenny and Titan part ways with the trio on their way to New York on their separate mission. Truly marvelous.

Well we already knew we won't get to see Titan a lot since she wasn't with them in the first episode but it still sux that that time came so soon. Hopefully they'll appear again.

Takt and Cosette still have ways to go to be a competent Maestro and Musicart pair, so practice is all they can do.

Well Las Vegas without Casinos doesn't feel right, so yeah a fight sequence in casino is what we all needed. Didn't took that much effort for Takt and Cosette, thanks to those lessons from Lenny.
Seems like this is where we connect to that first episode.

Cosette has no chill, just fuss sending it and destroying everything on her path.

Titan on the other hand is pretty chill, Takt might not miss Lenny, but I certainly will. He is such a reliable character.

Yea... this episode was bad and im dropping this show lol. First the visuals were a mess, good little scene in the beginning but everything else either didnt move or it looked REALLY unfinished. And the thing is, i could see that the staff actually tried in this episode, but they obviously didnt have the time to polish it. Besides that the episode was just boring. I cant care about the story/plot and these characters, i thought they were promising, but now i just find them mediocre. Ill probably just watch clips of the fights online or the posts on sakugabooru.

The world is really getting weird, when an idol game's production committee like Love Live Nijigasaki & Idoly Pride can do better promo anime(s) than takt op destiny which is an action RPG game :/ Poor Bandai Namco, you rather be focused on Love Live and let Sony/Aniplex monopolize this genre with their Fate series :/

Yes, at least sakugas still 10/10 high quality from MAPPA and Madhouse team (including MADBOX too as the animation finisher).

But the story ...
Hmm, I should play the game to get the real sensation of the story.

Lenny and Titan sure made things look easy there. But given that Takt and Destiny are just starting out its a given that they will find it difficult. Well given the setting having more fields is better than having the casino's and hotels. Looking at Lenny's friends though its nice to see that while the D2's have took much from them that their sense of hope has not been lost. Even at this time though seems human greed is still pretty prevalent. The lessons that Lenny imparted upon them at the casino sure were fun but provided an excellent opportunity for both Takt and Destiny to learn how to work together. In the end the busting of the hidden casino proved to be an excellent success for Lenny and Titan while also allowing Takt and Destiny to learn to work as a team as well. Its only right that the people who worked hard for that money be the one's that use it.

Overall a pretty fun ep that featured not only some nice expansion on the world but also some development for both Lenny and Titan and Takt and Destiny. Though brief their assistance for Takt and Destiny was most welcome and i hope they'll return.

Not surprising to see that kind of corruption and misappropriation of funds in Las Vegas, that guy just took the money from the cornfield workers to create that kind of awful casino, anyway he got what he deserves, that was a pretty good episode, Titan and Cosette are good to see in action

Can we talk about the credits on this? 3 episode directors? 2 chief directors and almost 30 animation directors for this ep ALONE? what the hell is happening at mappa right now? this is looking really bad for the rest of their work on the show.

its suprising that now its madhouse that has their stuff together.

This was basically a training episode teaching the basics and giving the floor to let Takt and Destiny work as a team. I think the episode was better than the last three mostly because it tried to do something in regards of the theme, but I just cant with Titan, garbage character. The fact that they used a crooked chinese is pretty funny, not going to lie, they coudnt get more cliche with the bodyguards tbh

Another generic adventuring episode. Putting this on 6/10 ... and ... dropped. Failing at the 3 things I value most in anime: Characters, pacing and music.

The chars are not interesting. Pacing feels to slow. (I get the feeling they will just to episodic adventuring + a bit plot in last 1-3 episodes.) And the music feels ... not fitting. Fast paced modern action music during the fights would have been better.

Classical stuff just does not fit here.

Well, this episode was pretty boring imo but still watchable. The fights did not give me any goosebumps but they looked great though.

I must admit, I want to have Titan as my own musicart companion. I love her laidback and bubbly personality. =)

Las Vegas wouldn't be Las Vegas if we didn't see a casino scene, even in a series like this one. No surprise that the owner of the corn fields sponged off the workers to fund the casino, so it felt like karma that the D2 would spawn here and wreck the place up. It also provided Lenny to give Takt and Destiny a good lesson in synchronising their battle style and it worked to great effect. It's a shame that Lenny and Titan have to part ways here, obviously since all of this happened chronologically before episode 1, but I do hope they return down the line.

Production values were a bit all over the place, though. Some scenes had some smooth and lovely sakuga-style animation, while other scenes were choppy and rough of the character models. It gives me vibes of Magia Record Season 2's production value inconsistency, where it went from god-like animation to a complete mess a few times too many. =/

I just hope this doesn't bode too badly for the later episodes...

Odd plot there. We get some vague sense that this secret casino is evil, but having the D2 suddenly really muddled the message. I get Lang siphoned funds, but casinos are massively profitable. Why wouldn't he put the money back to cover his tracks? There was an offhand message of sending the money somewhere at the end, so I guess there's a conspiracy? Hopefully one that gives an actual reason for the D2 to show up then. Also don't love the cut away from Titan catching Lang. I very much want to know if she's using that shotgun on people.

Meanwhile the training was lacking. The lessons don't explain why Destiny can aim now.

I am assuming that this wraps up the events that happened before episode 1, so hopefully next week we can continue with the actual plot and hopefully them making it to New York?

I do question some of these people here though. Who in their right mind, knowing that D2s are around, would open up a new casino after previous ones have been destroyed by the D2s..

Would have loved to have Titan stay with the others, but I am sure they will meet again sooner rather than later.

I felt like there was more to the casino than they bothered to cover. With the pacing so far, this seems like it'd be better off as two-cour -- not sure if they announced whether it was or not though. This episode is fine as foreshadowing and world-building, but if this ends up being all there is to this particular event, and they focus more on visuals and combat, I feel like I'm just going to find this series just "okay."

Anyway, I imagine they'll meet up with Lenny again sooner or later before this is all over.

We're four episodes in. I'm frustrated that we're still mired in what is essentially a goddamned training arc listening to speeches about how they need to work together better. It'd be more at least a little more tolerable if Takt wasn't a glorified pokemon trainer about 2 human paperweights, doing a little dance on the sideline with no discernable effect or purpose, or if their failures were as part of some story it was telling, but neither of those things are the case. Same goes for the side characters, who continued to just be vectors for exposition. You can faff all you want about how they're not working together, or are working together, with as many musical terms thrown in as you want, but you're still doing it about quite literal random monsters in a field that you're killing out of boredom.

Tell some kind of goddamned story. We're traveling across rural America, murdering the local wildlife as we go. Hell, we're in Vegas, and all we do here is visit a corn farm. In the last six minutes of the episode, we kick down the doors to a casino to kill a handful of roly polys that were in the basement. Which has absolutely nothing to do with the corn farm that we were visiting. Hell, I'm not even sure the main characters knew that the one corrupt dude existed at all. Was he seriously supposed to be the non-bug antagonist of the episode?

what a mess of an episode.
First, world building. What is strictly immoral about building a casino in post-apocalyptic Las Vegas? The characters act like its very existence is wrong (maybe that's a Japanese culture thing, but it surely doesn't make sense in America) although we find out later that the crime was misappropriation of funds/ money laundering. Why make it so confusing or unclear? Not only does it hurt the world building but the stakes as well.
Second, that final fight. There was no character development there. It wasn't even a character based fight. It was written like a video game tutorial. Even the character responses felt straight out of a video game.
Third, Takt and Cosette/Destiny's relationship is once again sidelined. The only times they actually developed was in the opening battle, where Takt expressed how crazy Destiny was and how ridiculous this situation is, essentially cementing at this point that he has reached the same level as character development as episode 1, and will probably remain a lifeless caricature for the rest of the show.
Let's not even talk about Anna, who's literally just kind of there for this entire episode. She's completely abandoned.
And no for this random scooby doo plot. It felt confused, like it couldn't decide what story it wants to tell. There was an immoral property owner who was barely in the story. There was that farming couple who simply served as a source of exposition on Titan and Lenny. They didn't really add to a cohesive or compelling story in their own right. What were they going for with Titan and Lenny's infiltration. What were these two actually going to accomplish if D2s hadn't arrived? We don't know. They never made their plan clear so perhaps the show was trying to trick us into thinking they were morally ambiguous?

This episode felt like a series of unrelated scenes strung together with a hackneyed plot at the last minute

Weakest episode until here.

I still don't get why the narrative decided to go backwards from episode 1. If the anime had continued from there, instead of this 3 flashbacks episodes, telling everything we did not know like a grandpa reading a book for a kid, would be way more interesting to see.

Now i have hopes that, when we finally get back from where we stopped at episode 1, everything will be better. At least sound like it, unless this anime is about this Ben10 traveling adventure type bs.

I feel like even a corrupt businessman would realize it's a bad idea to blast music loudly 24/7 in a post apocalyptic world where monsters are attracted by the sound of music, but hey, maybe that's just me.
