If an animation is made in America but has the same style as anime does it count as anime?

Stupid question but the definition of "anime" is Japanese animation so is American anime styled animation count as actual official anime?

no, as it was created in America by an American studio, I believe that either the studio has to have Asian origin or people working on the anime have to have worked on an anime in asia or something along those lines. Ik it is a little dumb, i personally think that if an anime is inspired by the asian anime art style then it should be classed.
