| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- “Bernie? …Was mommy this warm too?” Oh, little Lu… Despite the fantastic nature we’ve been shown, it has been kind of barren. Just plains of grass and open land. We don’t really know where they are, but a post-apocalyptic world where everything is BEAUTIFUL instead of horrific and completely destroyed is kind of…. wonderful? Like who does that. It’s so refreshing to see a whimsical, optimistic spin, especially concerning war and things related to that i.e meaningless death. They mentioned fairy tales, and this feels kind of like one. …Funny how this is the chapter where we confront the theme of death, that being their mom. Hm. It seems like Bernie has done some growing up. Without a parent, adventuring out and looking after his sibling… well now, that’s what we call being brave. *flashbacks to the second chapter* |
