| This anime became a symbol of our time how pathetic anime could be, 4 shifts of plot style direction barely every 6 episodes, this is how looks like situation when developers don't even know what they are doing and what they want. It feels like they are absolute amateurs because who the hell start anime with melodrama based on characters and their relations if you didn't show them yet, who the hell after such start changing anime to slice of life romantic comedy, why it's once again a drama after a half of anime with mood roller coaster when one episode is positive then negative then positive then once again negative, is it some kind of experiment of Dr. Franx? Ended this anime even worse than it started somehow, before around of episode 20 people asked many questions about plot since anime stayed silenced but then after episode 20 only one question is remained: "Where from this bullshit came from?". Some questions are supposed to stay unanswered. it reminds me another piece of crap - Shinsekai Yori, both are pretentious as hell and full of fetishes, story is awful, characters are dull. But even Shinsekai Yori is better than Darling in the Franxx since first one is some kind of original at least when second one is full of references and stealing. At least Darling in the Franxx won't have second season because of such ending, big thanks for that. |
| I still have like 500 questions and I doubt even the staffs of this show can answer them because they probably pulled a lot of things out of their butts, especially in the last few episodes. If I had watched this while it was airing, I would have probably dropped it. Also, I hate ending scenes where they show the characters being reborn and meeting again. I've seen that scene SOOO many times in other shows that it doesn't do anything for me. I mean, if you want to kill off the characters, go ahead, I'm ok with it as long as it's justifiable and does something for the story but don't feed us with "oh look, they met again after being reborn and now they can finally have their happily ever after ending even though they don't remember each other which makes their past together completely pointless!". |
| I go through the series again for past 2 days. Ikuno is not my favorite character and people doesn't seems to talk much about her but I personally think that she suppose to have bigger role but cut short probably because they decided to concentrate on their red oni blue oni thing. I just had these feeling where Goro setting suppose to be dead and Ichigo end up with Ikuno at the end not Ikuno with Naomi. Ikuno secretly combining her DNA with Ichigo's to create new life. She also done some studying on the Franxx in preparation for Season 2 invasion. The scene where she slap 9a make me think: Ah, this is it. The point that is set for future. It's will be the total shift from Boy X Girl to Girl X Girl like what normally the industry love to do. |

| This episode hit right in the kokoro, if you know what I mean :) I had to watch all the anime in one go and it got me hooked for the whole duration. I wouldn't go as far as saying it was perfect, but I'll give it 10/10 anyway because it hit all the right spots for me. Basically it had stuff I liked from TTGL and Kill la Kill, with a satisfying ending nonetheless, that last scene was priceless! Also, all the characters got what they deserved. And Goro looks like he's ready to become the next Hokage, lol. |

Bone's Eureka Seven has a character named Anemone, that like others (like Asuka from Evangelion, or Lum from Urusei Yatsura), she inspired Zero Two! | Shame the serie gots so much hate, really loved it. okay the plot twist of the VIRM was kinda forced and out of nowhere, I have to agree on that, but aside from that it was a perfect anime. 9/10, 10/10 if they didn't fked up with VIRM |

| First 16 or 17 episodes were really good i was thinking to give this show 7/10 even though there was not much story and show was revolving around love triangle drama then after that it felt like show become really stupid with ridiculous plot twist but I ignore those plot holes becuz this show is really well made with amazing animation,fight scenes and some good moments but holy shit these last two episodes were fucking terrible and full of bad writing that i was laughing throughout the episode and i believe anyone who has watched some good mecha or space opera shows knows that this was so stupid especially how Zero two become robot and both of them enjoying their honeymoon in space yeah I really want to give this show good rating becuz some episodes were really good but i can't ignore what happen in these last two episodes so 4/10 |

| I heard this show stirred up quite a bit of controversy among the fandom especially concerning the choices the character Kokoro made and how the series concluded. I was expecting a trainwreck, I was expecting to be upset. But what I got was just a big, fat, MEH. This show was neither good or bad. It's just...mediocre and really, really stupid. Nothing memorable about it and certainly nothing worth getting upset about. PS: Kokoro did nothing wrong. |

| god that ending was beautiful honestly a great ending to such a well done anime. happiest ending that could ever happen, seeing a generation of children born into warfare, manipulated, lied to and treated like expendable crap, to be able to find their own freedom, happiness, basic human rights and have their own kids and start an entire new world that won't have to go through what they did was truly heartwarming. Seeing the gang years later was quite something, feels like i've been part of their story looking back at all of them in episode one until now and watching all of them grow and develop in their own ways made me so happy that they all could find happiness in the end. Hiro and Zero two's sacrifice was the pushing point to tears for me on god, something about their relationship and the true love they have for each other feels so right that seeing them happy together is enough to make me happy. There is absolutely nothing about the ending that i wish they had improved on or added. This anime is a complete masterpiece in my books, manage to make me go through literally every single human emotion the further i went in, continuing to keep a good consistency of a happiness for the characters then suddenly plummeting to darkness making you think that's the end of them then rays of hope show up and they slowly break through. Every character has changed/developed in some way physically or mentally from the first time we saw them and they have done an amazing job at showing that eg. Mitsuru first time seeing him, absolutely despised his petty character. However after we learned more on why he was they way he was, felt bad for him and then his character built up tremendously to someone you'd least expect. Story was definitely a roller coaster of emotions, but it was so well done. First few episodes are warm and nice ironically however further you get in, they hint at a dark secret and each episode they show more and more until the ice finally breaks and you see just how fucked up the situation is and it leaves you there thinking "jesus christ i thought they had it bad in the first half" from then on it has you on the end of your seat wanting to know what happens next, absolutely love how they planned the story out. honestly, wish i didn't wait 2 years later to watch this anime but kinda happy the wait for season 2 would have been unbearable. this anime is truly one of a kind |

| What an unnecessary last episode, they could've stopped one or even more episodes ago and it would've been a better ending. I always think it's unnecessary to suddenly timeskip years into the future in the very last episode. Well... overall this show wasn't bad, it also did not do anything especially interesting either. The ending is, like in most cases, once again the biggest flaw, which diminishes the show overall. Just too much happening too late without any real effect on the viewer, at least in my case. I'm surprised this show is so popular and referenced online so often. 6/10 |

| Absolutely beautiful ending. I was wondering how they were aging but it seems Ikuno was working on that technology. The start was pretty good, had me interested instantly, wanting to know more about why the world came to be where it was. Was definitely surprised by the info we got later in the show how quickly everything happened and to learn this wasn't in the distant future. The things that didn't do much for me; - Some of the drama in this show was a bit overdone. - The sudden explanation of it being aliens vs aliens (or at least a very old human-like civilization) - The way the mechas looked but I guess it made sense with the explanation of the XX and XY chromosomes used everywhere, even with their suits. Other than that a really good series, just wish they took a different route than it being aliens all of a sudden. Even though I didn't mind it as much after learning more about the Klaxo Sapiens. The ending especially was satisfying, seeing them grown up. Zero Two and Hiro getting killed off didn't feel as bad as I thought it would either. 8/10 |

| I don't know what to think about this bittersweet enduring. I've heard ho bad it is before, and while I partially agree, at least it held on to itself. This show could have been so much more, but it lost its way. |

| Show could have been just average to me and then the last few episodes occurred and just drove a stake right into the heart of the show. Battlestar Zero Two... baffling. The two of them disappearing is fitting enough if their friends being able to communicate with them through space was definitely not, just another asspull to give a "Friendship is Magic!" scene. Reincarnation is also a sad attempt to get a tear rolling down the cheek. Her statue turned into a tree as well? I guess at this point you have to roll with whatever happens, pfft. What to rate overall... had promise in the first couple eps then faded, had a couple good flashback eps with Zero Two and Hiro and a couple sweet moments while the team waited to see if Papa would come back for them... but this is maybe six eps of material that is solid out of the whole show, hardly enough for me. 4/10 perhaps? Hmmm. At least it wasn't the absolute fartbox i feared it might turn into. Though Zero Two turning into a spaceship was awful. Hmmm... |

| The ending was so shit, it was so rushed and messy. The sheer amount of plotholes was a big downfall of the show. The studio should've continued the anime as it was, a character-driven show where character choices and behavior were the main focus on the show instead of an action arc. The VIRM plot twist was really bad although it had potential if they could've fleshed it out with more episodes. Needless to say, the ending really disappointed me. |
| Wha....Is that really how things end ?! I mean, I unfortunately got spoiled, I knew Hiro and Zero Two would die but I didn't expect this to happen... Like that. Like, they just disappear and then at the end they're apparently reincarnated in children. Well, why not I guess, after all this show has been a total mess since 4-5 episodes. I didn't even write everything on the forums for the entire 2nd half because I had too much and yet too little to say. It's just dumb... First of all, I don't know what they've done with Zero Two. She is so popular, I really thought she was going to be a great character, she had the potential to be one, but NO ! Let's just shatter that character to the ground. I never was as fond of her character as everyone else, simply because I always felt like there was something missing (plus, I expected her quirky personality to have a bit more wackiness and originality, instead of just being one of an immature teen), but I still had hope. Despite my complaints, I liked her arc in the middle of the show when she was going insane. But just like what I was afraid of, once Hiro stopped her, she lost all substance. Forget about her struggles, her wildness, what's make her interesting, now she's just a cute waifu because we can ! Come on, that's just so frustrating to think about, even with all my complaints I never expected them to destroy her character just like that but they did, they totally did. And not only did she become uninteresting but she also became unbearable when her dialogues ultimately consisted of practically nothing but "Darling" and "Minna". Also, I actually laughed when she apparently tried to go back to her emo phase in an attempt to prevent Hiro from following her, and then just went like "Oh well, okay, you're my Darling lol". Her going back to "I'm a monster" mode was already laughable, but the way it concluded was priceless. And... And what was up with her fusing with her mecha ?! WHAT WAS THAT ?! I think I never laughed that hard watching a show, it just came out of nowhere ! And the rest though... Everything that happened since episode 20 is absolute nonsense, it's like they suddenly remembered that the thing they had been forgetting for so long happens to be the plot so they just threw everything in when it is supposed to end ! So now we have aliens, a princess, a trip to space, and of course a timeskip BECAUSE WE CAN ! No seriously it's just... I... I don't even have the words. I could also talk about the side characters who lost all their potential, the professor being the most interesting character in the show, the emotional impact that actually didn't have any impact... But I'm just gonna say that while I already knew the show's end was quite messy, I didn't at all expected it to be THAT messy. I don't know how to rate it. The majority of the show, while flawed, was enjoyable so I would give it a 6 but the ending destroyed so much of this enjoyment I'd want to go to a 5. I don't know... This show is weird. |

| (watched this last month but forgot to put down my thoughts here) Hi there so I just dropped by to say that I wasn't expecting to enjoy this at all, but for some reason my curiosity peaked at this certain moment and I decided to go see what all the hype was all about. I kind of knew everything about it already, I've seen spoilers galore and what not. Was ready to power through this mess and give it a solid 3 or 2 out of 10. Long story short (also because I don't know exactly how to put it) I actually didn't really mind this anime; thought it was even half decent. I enjoyed it somewhat, and that's the important thing, right? Yeah it gets convoluted at the end and random stuff keeps happening, but the way it ends at the actual ending with the two of them under the tree tugged at my heart strings a bit. Seems like the more jaded anime viewers will give this a lower score as they will be able to see all the flaws it has and see how it may outweigh its positive aspects. Anime viewers who are more green though, will probably just enjoy it for what it is; hence it's obvious popularity back in 2018 and perhaps even now. I'm in between, for I do see its problems, but when I lay back and just enjoy it for some mindless entertainment, it's not half bad. Was pleasantly surprised, and maybe you can be too if you had been putting this off for awhile for whatever reason. 6/10, definitely no masterpiece, but for me was a good time. |

| This ending shattered my heart. WHY? Why do this to me after I loved the series so much? Im completely broken. Why did Zero 2 and Hiro have to die? Why are they reborn hundreds of years later? I dont want it like that, they arent the same people so it doesnt matter if they reunite with eachother in the future. This is really sad for me. I really loved Zero 2 and Hiro and wanted them to be with eachother. I am really disappointed and angry. This is just wrong, such a beautiful series that just got completely ruined by this shitty ending. Words cant even describe how much I hate this ending. That is all, I am heartbroken and I wont recover for at least a couple weeks. This is too much for me to handle, they were so fucking cute together and now its all gone. Also they never even got to reunite with the others from squad 13. FUCK THIS. |
