 It has been announced that Nobuyuki Fukumoto's mahjong manga Akagi: Yami ni Oritatta Tensai will end its 27 years of serialization in the February 2018 Issue. Posters to announce this news will also be places around 15 main Yamanote Line stations between February 13 and 19.Akagi: Yami ni Oritatta Tensai is written and illustrated by Nobuyuki Fukumoto. The manga started its serialization in the April 1992 issue (released 1991) in Takeshobou's Kindai Mahjong magazine. There are currently 33 compiled manga volumes published with the latest volume being released on December 15, 2016. A TV anime adaptation by Madhouse aired in Fall 2005. Source: Mainichi Shinbun |

| there is also live action for the match before washizu http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2017-07-27/akagi-manga-inspires-2nd-live-action-series-in-october/.119411 the previous 10 episode live action drama also adapted the entire washizu match until almsot the end of the match, the last super dragged out snail paced final round pretty well. so for anime watcher who want to continue but too lazy to read manga, just go watch live action, it's much better. |
