| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- How did everyone find this manga? I really enjoyed it, I am reading this after watching the anime and it's slightly different. Both were really sad though. Who was your favorite character and why? Mariko was my favorite character, as I found her always gripping and interesting. She will shank a betch. She also really didn't like men, thinking they only thought about sleeping with women, which I think had a lot to do with her father being a porn director. I always like when a character who is flawed has a reasonable backstory to make them that way. I am looking to read more things like this, old school retro classic feels. Please send recommendations my way. |
| Mariko is my favourite, too. She is just precious. I love girls like her. Pretty sure she is Scorpio... lol Anime did mild the story... honestly I liked manga better because it felt more real to me. |

I thought it was interesting Tomoko, Nanako's friend, wasn't in it at all compared to the anime. I really liked the art style of the manga compared to the anime. I'll have to try to find more like it. |

| What a damn tragedy. The blurb about Kaoru on the last page made my heart sink to the ground; I was so happy for her, too. Ikeda knows how to mess with your emotions, though this didn't ruin me as much as Versailles no Bara. I still haven't recovered from Versailles no Bara. Favorites were probably Kaoru and Rei, can't decide between the two. Both were just two amazing and well-rounded personalities, they felt like they could be real people. |
| That was painful. I'm still trying to digest this work; I'll admit I'm having trouble interpreting its themes... The last page with Kaoru was so sudden- even though moments before it instilled hope that she'd be okay in her new life, what became of her fate was like a slap in the face back to reality. I'll definitely be sitting with these thoughts for a while. No favorite for me, but I enjoyed Mariko's screentime the most. She had the widest range of expressions I think. |
| This was way better than what I was expecting. I definitely enjoyed Mariko and Rei the most. I also have high praise for the art style. |
