| So this summer I've read Dear My Mother, which back then had only 1 volume and 9 chapters according to this site. Now they changed it to 2 volumes and 19 chapters, and I'm 100% sure I didn't read the new chapters (they're not in the history), yet today I found that I have the manga in "completed" with 2 volumes and 19 chapters. This is scary, frustrating and shitty: how am I supposed to keep track of what I've read if my list gets modified without any notifications or anything? :( |
| Yeah, not having any kind of notification sucks. At least they don't change your number of episodes/chapters/volumes completed - it just that Completed list displays total amount for that anime/manga and not your data. This is why sites like http://graph.anime.plus/ could find such mismatches and show them. |
| For me it changed from 1/9 to 2/19 without me doing anything, that's why I'm worried... I'm 100% sure I didn't change it myself as the second volume isn't even fully translated and I don't read raws. Could it have been a mistake on the mods' side? If you look here, you won't find anyone with 1/9 except me, who already noticed this change and reverted it. I seriously doubt that all these people have read the 2nd volume. I think something went wrong when a mod updated the volume/chapter count. I wonder how often this happens. Please look into this... |

The 2nd volume is only available in some chinese translation, I don't believe that all these people have really read it. |
| Even those who last updated in 2012 have 2/19, even in API. Just fucking great. I don't think it's a mod mistake, it must be some new change that they never announced (like they do all the time). |
| It's not a new change, it's a bug, which is years old. If a user sends in a chapter/volume change update and we approve it, all users who had it set as completed will be updated to the new counts. |

| I see, thanks. Is there some way to see which changes were submitted like this so that we can check our lists for potential inaccuracies? I'm kinda OCD about my lists so this makes me a bit nervous hehe... |
| I don't think there is such an option on mal unfortunately. You'll have to go on graph.anime for this. Here under "Manga summary" click on "Found x mismatch", it'll show which titles in your list have a different chapter count compared to before. edit: woops, vivan already mentioned the website, I can't read |
