| Mioda was hands down the life of the party and my favorite girl after Junko. Great design, cheerful and bright personality and a really fun character. Tsumiki was really cute in general when you finally got to know her and made her happy in the conversations (which made reaching that point after how awkward and fearful of others reactions she was a lot more satisfaying) and Saionji bitching about everyone and everything with those expressions was just hilarious to me. Koizumi,Sonia and Monomi were just annoying as hell and Akane was pretty much Asahina 2.0 but hotter. Peko was alright I guess, could have been better if they had given her more screentime. Chiaki I felt the same as with Kirigiri, the developers tried way too hard to make you like her and feel something for her, but they failed completely in my case because she wasn't interesting at all at any point in the story and was just a cute, intelligent and gentle girl, which in all honestly made her boring as hell. Add that to the fact that Komaeda totally overshadowed her when the three main characters were investigating because of how much more interesting and dangerous he was compared to her and I just couldn't care less about her. |

| Tough one between Chiaki and Mioda. I also like Akane. Am I the only that likes the male cast way more than the female? Btw, I hate Komaeda. |

| Well naturally it's a showdown between Ibuki and Chiaki, the others don't really come close I think Chiaki has the best writing, but at the same time Ibuki is so funny and energetic so it depends on how you look at it. Guess I'd slightly give it to Ibuki but it's pretty 50/50 to me Though my favorite character overall was Tanaka but he's male so :> |

The only events I did from DR2 were the ones with Komaeda (since he was the only I found myself interested in) but I didn't bother with the rest of them. And I don't know what you're implying, but I looked Chiaki's event and they were awful in comparison to Komaeda's. Was I supposed to become more attached to her by doing them? Because if so, they failed really hard. |

| For DR2 portrayals only, I like Chiaki the most. She is the most competent by far of the female case (and probably the smartest overall, excluding Nagito). I particularly loved the scene where she slaps Akane to stop her from strangling Nagito and her sacrifice at the end. But she has lots of good scenes overall. When she rebuts Nagito in the first trial, when she stops Hajime from going into the Final Dead Room, etc...so many good scenes. I know some people argue she's a Mary Sue, but I guess I also don't mind those, and I do think she has depth beyond all that. Or maybe shes likable in spite of that. Not sure, but shes one of my favorite females, and its always a joy rewatching her scenes. |

She makes mistakes, doesn't understand human interaction very well and she's incredibly naive. I personally don't think she's much of a Mary Sue, but I can see why, so I can try to explain it to you. Here's the definition of a Mary Sue: "A Mary Sue is an idealized and seemingly perfect fictional character, a young or low-rank person who saves the day through unrealistic abilities". Many think Chiaki falls into this because she is fairly idealized, esp to the audience that plays/watches this. Think about her role a bit - the ultimate *gamer*. How many geeks/nerds playing with relate to that? Quite a few. As for why she is idealized, it goes to her "worst" traits being shy and socially inept. Your comment of her being "incredibly naive" is also IMO just an opinion - I don't think she's that naive. Her normal self shows her to be a paragon of hope, kindness, intelligence, and reliability. She constantly saves the day and makes no mistakes. That's typical of Mary Sue characters. For the most part, she is a nearly perfect character with little to no flaws. The few "flaws" she has are small/trivial or may be even be seen as pluses for the gamers who enjoy that shy stereotype. But yeah, its a combination of all these factors that makes others mostly think of her as a Mary Sue. For me, I personally find her to have a bit more depth than the typical image of a Mary Sue, but I could see others seeing her as a MS in their opinion - I think its fair to think of it either way. |
