| Before I watched Hunter X Hunter, all the people that recommended it too me only spoke and praised Chimera Arc. I was quite hyped for it, but unfortunately when I finally made it there, I was thoroughly disappointed, at least by the first part before Meruem appeared, which felt longer that it had to be. The second part however was briliant, I really liked the way Meruem and his pack were fleshed out. Overall, I find Phantom Troupe to be the best arc of the series, while shorter, it had better pacing. |

| I wouldn't say the Yorknew and Chimera Ant arcs are necessarily the "best". They just contain the two major climaxes of the series. Without the other arcs, I don't think they would be nearly as effective. Also the Chimera Ant arc being a letdown is not a prevailing opinion. It's just an opinion of one person who happens to have dozens of alts. The score here increased steadily as the Chimera Ant arc was being aired. Go to any other online community where people talk Hunter x Hunter, and you will see that the arc is nearly universally praised. |

| It's an arc that is a lot better upon rewatching and thinking about afterwards, imo. People have written a lot of essays/articles about it too which can help you appreciate aspects of it you may have missed and such. It's quite complex and has a lot of depth I found, but I can understand why some people wouldn't enjoy watching it. Hell, if we're going for most enjoyable arc to watch, I'd choose Greed Island. But the best arcs in the series (for me) are Chimera Ant, Yorknew and the Election. |
