I love the narrator of DBZ much, much more than the narrator of the CA-arc -- one of my fave moments in all of media is when Gohan went SS2 which the narrator hyped the fuck out of -- but even if no one narrated the previews or he never existed in DBZ, I would still enjoy the show as much as I do now and did then. TL;DR In all honesty, the narrator just glorified something that was already amazing. |

| Using your own words, how could it have garnered as much praise without the guy who set the mood? I'm sure there are alternative ways to do it, but I'd be very skeptical that it would turn out close to how it did. The goal is not to confuse you, but to tell an epic story, and having an omniscient narrator is near essential for that unless it were to be drastically simplified. But it is in all its layered, structured details that it becomes so immersive and real. |

The things I appreciate about the arc are the themes it explores, the relationships between all the characters, and so and so forth. Whilst the narrator was good, he was not what I enjoyed the arc for. I'm also quite sure that I know why I like something, as would most people. |
