...How can you update manga, though? Especially if you're like me and you buy retail? How can the computer know you read retail manga? XD;

Scanlations I can understand... I think? I have no idea.

I'd like an option for it to *not* read what you are watching. I prefer this tool to manually update my anime, personally, not automatically. :)

Btw, when a "current" anime is set to the last episode, it's automatically set to complete by MAL (it seems to happen once a day)

would it be possible to have a link to the episode's discussion page in the status bar after an updated episode? (if applicable)

I though of that too, but that would be too lazy...
You can already click on the anime's name and go to its MAL page, are you really lazy to scroll down a bit???
I think that its unnecessary...

I don't know if anyone else uses it, but VLC Media Player is the only one I use. And I don't need to install any extra codecs with it. So perhaps support with this player?

you speak of laziness as if using MAL Updater isn't lazy,

also i'm talking about a direct link to the episode discussion thread, not to the anime board in general, and if it doesn't exist it could ask you if you wanted to make one etc

Just a small thing about the interface...
because the score-update buttons are shaped like triangles,
it's kind of hard to select the "Score up" button.
(the cursor-hover area for the score up button is too small)

so maybe it would be better with just plain two buttons side by side? :)

Oh and since in Vista Aero Glass, progress bars keep glowing from left to right,
I mean it's pretty but since there are 5-6 of them running at the same time
it looks kinda messy. :P Anyone else bothered by it?

How about some command line functionality? Something like:

MalUpdater.exe --silent-update --file=animu_file.mkv

Well, since it's Windows program I undestand you don't really care about Linux users, but I just thought it would be convenient if I could do a little script like...

#!/bin/bash
for file in "$@"; do
mplayer "$file" && MalUpdater --silent --file="$file"
done

Like that you could make the application work with any video player without having to support them specifically...

Now that my no auto update is in the beta, I have yet another selfish request to make!

How about a BUTTON for increasing/decreasing episodes watched. Moving the scroller thing is a bit annoying, as it usually goes up 2 eps at once for me.

and...

Refresh button - like when I move an on-hold anime to watching, I usually have to quit out of mal updater and log back in to see that particular anime to see it in mal updater-

The only way MPC wouldn't work is if you didn't have proper codecs. But um...

Small quick feature reqs.

How about a "no-theme" mode?
like without any bg images, just plain Aero glass (or any other default windows theme :P)window frame with minimize-exit button...

Just plain simple.

Oh and an option for MALu to load in background in startup.
(like in Windows Live IM, check "Load program on startup" PLUS uncheck "Show window on startup")
you get the idea :)

again, thanks for all your work!

Quote for truth.

Also, I agree, it'd be nice to have MALu have a "start without popping up" option for when you turn on your computer.
Most of us have enough programs that do just that xD

EDIT: seems this already exists disregard my post :)

I am using MPC because there is no way that I will use RealPlayer (just one good feature - save content from browser)
However, if you watch partial files (like donloading 7 volumes, unrar 1st one, and begin to watch while others being downloaded :) ) then VideoLan is the best (though maybe something new has appeared for this couple years when I have been using it)

Yeah, MPC is good and we should not forget, that it can be used instead of other cr#@ like QuickTime

Main advatage for me in MPC that I can play some H264 which are slow on other players

Well, anyway, continue to develop this great project!

Like i already said in the bug report post, i think an "auto-add new anime" (when detected) function could be a great idea...

And like it's been said in a post before, an option to see the "completed anime" ... your use of the score button is really good and it help a lot for new users who have a lot of anime to enter in their personal list.

Also maybe a button "update all" could be a good idea when you make lot of changes.

uh... don't think so.
Well there is a basic theme but that's also image-based,
and no shadow is cast by DWM since it's custom-skinned.

and what I meant was the "load program MINIMIZED in taskbar" function.
