Hello, everyone!! I just looked at Kineta-chan's Profile, and what hit me first is: I've been a Manga Moderator for 7 months and I haven't said anything about in my profile! Why didn't I think of that?!!
So, here goes: if you have a question or comment about manga, please don't hesitate to send me a message, post in my comments, or go to the Manga Support Forums, which are
here.
Also if you have any questions that the official
FAQ's don't already cover, there is also
freedoleen's Unofficial Extended FAQ's that may have the info you're looking for. Yes, it says unofficial, but he
is an anime moderator, so it's just possible he may know what he's talking about (especially in regard to anime questions).
Lately you'll find me quixotically altering and adding to the manga, the people, and sometimes the character databases. My favorite thing is to add more information to what is already there, somehow or other. I want to make MAL a site that people go to to find out about manga, joining the ranks of other well-known manga and anime sites. One thing we're doing is trying to write original manga (and anime) Synopses, so if you have anything to add or contribute, we welcome the opportunity to include your original descriptions! If you need some help with format I encourage you to join if you can the
MAL Rewrite Club. On the other hand, if you see some information that is wrong or just missing, please submit your updates! We (the moderators) can't do it all, and we rely on the help of all you MAL users. The only way MAL will improve is if all of us include what we know about manga, anime, characters, and people. Sometimes I'm surprised that people form a fan club, but the entry for the subject of the club is very skimpy, and sometimes even see comments here or there that something is incorrect. Just don't talk about it to each other, speak up! There are users who are experts in lots of different things in MAL, so it's entirely possible you know something few other people know! So let us know, and don't let your favorite manga or mangaka be little more than a name to the rest to us!
End plug.
I am also particularly interested in straightening out the Korean name mess that exists in our People database, so if you have any changes along that line, I once again encourage you to submit them or let me know.
Another project I'm hoping to work on, is the magazine database, so if you notice any duplicates or errors, or opinions on spelling or the magazine is wrong for a particular manga, please submit this info to places I mentioned already above.
Finally, characters. Far too few characters attached to not all their anime and manga--I'd like to see more. Of course that is in addition to the manga, people, and other updates and changes that we depend on you people out there to inform us of.
The following is a completely disorganized set of images I have claimed or just like for some reason.
My Japanese name (not just katakana!) generated on website
HERE:
猿渡 Saruwatari (monkey on a crossing bridge) 久美子 Kumiko (eternal beautiful child)
Finally I have a reasonably correct (at the present) list of my faves for anime and manga. Characters and voice actors are still just a list of some of the ones I like.
OK!! It's time to make a list of seiyuu I like! I already said the ones listed in my favorites are just the start! Here are some additions!
Takahiro Sakurai
Daisuke Hirakawa (Itazura no Kiss--Naota Irie)
Junichi Suwabe (Bonten, Kain Akatsuki, Raiko Shimizu, many others)
Greg Ayres (mainly because I fell in love with his voice by about episode 22 of Beck, lol)
Some other English language voice actors who have come to my attention recently (since it appears that they appear over and over and over again in Funimation anime......)
Colleen Clinkenbeard--esp. Yuuko in xxxHolic
and her male counterpart (voice could be the male version of hers):
J. Michael Tatum
