How much experience do you have with anime and manga? Which one do you like better and most importantly why?

I personally like anime more and I think the main reason for that is I feel like it sets an atmosphere and becomes engaging more easily to me, mainly because of the music, but I have small experience with manga and actually anime too.

Please Discuss! :)

I've been watching anime for 6 years now and been reading manga since one.

To me some manga can be really enjoyable, even more than watching anime since there are a lot of shows that suck.

I like both so much. Sometimes I prefer to watch anime, but sometimes I can't get enough of manga. it really depends on my mood and what I'm up to

Can't go without them in any way

Anime but I've been reading manga more lately. I find manga tends to be more effective at slice-of-life, romances and realistic stories like Oyasumi Punpun and Paradise Kiss, whereas anime is usually better at nearly everything else.
Anime has sound, colours and motion though so I do overall prefer it.

Anime is definitely the superior medium. The thing is - many adaptations aren't that good which may give a false impression. But I will take anime original over manga original any day.

anime is a better medium, objectively speaking. Simply because it has more to offer. colours, music, and voice acting can really bring a series to life and make what could have been a boring read into a fun watch. Not to mention that some genres just work better as anime such as comedy and action.

I have been watching anime far longer than I have been reading manga and I enjoy anime more but the only reason for that is that I don't enjoy reading on my monitor or any kind of display thing. If I could buy manga in my country I would probably read more manga than watching anime. It's just matter of availability and convenience for me.

I've watched about 1950 anime and read 50 manga(near 100 if you count manga I'm reading that are pretty long) and I think anime is the best. It just appeals to our senses more and the top anime I've seen > the top manga I've read.

Animation, color, soundtrack, voices, etc are all things that the anime has that the manga doesn't that improves the scenes greatly if done correctly.

It's like comparing an orchestra with dozens of members to a soloist. Both at their best the orchestra is still better.

I watched more anime, than I read manga, but I prefer/think Manga is a lot better. There are many reasons I posted before, but I can't find right now, and can't be bothered to write them again.

Anime has more creative potential but is currently being locked by the stagnant desires of narrow-minded otaku, censorship, and capitalism.

Manga is better as of now because there's simply more artistic freedom in it.

Personally I like both about the same but I have noticed that some anime base doff manga is nowhere near as good in places as the manga that they are based off and that the manga are better

even though my list suggests I pretty much just watch anime, I am finding due to life limiting my anime watching lately, I have found myself getting into and reading so much more manga, as I can pop it on my kindle and read while at work in breaks and dinners and such, and I can sit on the sofa with it when I get a spare minute....

but tbh if I had the time I probably would go back to animation!

Anime. It gets my heart racing during dramatic or intense moments when accompanied by music. I don't get that from manga. I also find certain moments more memorable in an anime than in manga.

And yeah, I have more experience with anime than manga. However, I own more manga tankobons than anime DVDs.

I've been trying to get into manga for a while, but I still find it a little bit exhausting to read for long periods of time, whereas marathoning anime is never a problem for me. So at the moment I definitely prefer anime but I imagine it might change in the future, when I finally get used to manga for real. Manga seems pretty interesting, with more mature and complex themes overall.

I voted for anime, but it truly depends on which I started.

I prefer anime since most of the time I'll only watch the anime when the anime has a manga as well.

However, I absolutely love shoujo manga as well.

Honestly, I like both equally.
I've been watching anime since I was a kid (yanno, Inuyasha, Akira, DBZ) but I didn't seriously get into it till I was around 13-14.
I started reading manga about 2 years ago.
Both has upsides and downsides.
Sometimes the animations in animes are shit, but sometimes I can't get into the action in manga.
