If it's a TV series there's a high chance a crappy studio and director can butcher it to bits, but if it's a movie it's mostly be something really worthwhile and all high budget with a good director and studio. | Hey man. Why so positive, when they will fit 64 chapters of story in 1~1.5 hour movie?! At best, it will be something like new Air/Clannad overcompressed movies. At worst... Don't want to think even >_< |

| It'll be tough, but if blessed with a 2 hour runtime, Koe no Katachi should be able to pull off a coherent and complete story after scrapping most of the flashbacks and some of the lesser moments such as those regarding Shouko and Yuzuru's grandma. This is still mostly dependent on the competency of the director/storyboard-er. |
| I feel like the length of a movie won't be able to properly express the pacing of the manga, which I think was very important to the storytelling. I'm hoping they will use this to animate maybe the first 4 or 5 chapters, and then later come out with a full series. We'll see. If they're thinking of trying to condense the whole story into one movie...... I don't even want to think about it. I think most people can agree that this manga is very dear to them (definitely true for me) and if they try to cut it up into little pieces to make it fit.... that would really ruin the whole point of the original story. You can't get the full range of emotions from each of the characters that way. I guess what I'm trying to say is: THERE BETTER BE A F*CKING TV SHOW AFTER THE MOVIE. |
| Even though I'm already satisfied enough that a manga I loved reading gets an adaptation, I have to admit I'm kinda disappointed it isn't a series. A movie risks to be too short to transmit all the emotions of the manga. Well, I hope it's gonna be at least something decent, the story deserves it... |

| I think a TV series would have worked better. Movies are usually 1-2 hours long and I don't think the producers, whoever they are, will be able to cram the full story into it. Also, if it was a TV series I wouldn't have to wait for months to find subbed versions online Still excited for it though. Who knows, maybe there'll be two adaptions |

| They could just stop somewhere convenient, I can kinda think of a few places without finish the story at all but yeah in other words I don't see the full story being adapted properly at any rate. |

| I was right on, I thought it would be better as a movie. I don't want to watch the first three 3 episodes of horrendous acts of Nishimiya being bullied and the heartache that will thank god that won't happen. (I got really unconfortable reading the first few chapters that I practically skimmed through it). I think it'll work as a movie, hopefully will be at least 2++ hours long. Just scratch out some arcs, I never really like the Nishimiya sister sob about the granny arc but keep the Nishimiya mother scene though that was powerful. |

| I personally prefer the one shot over the manga so I would be pleased if they just adapted the one shot. If the movie adapt the full manga, well too bad it's japan's way of destroying the source material lol. |

| Eh whatever, there was honestly no situation in which KyoAni could properly drive the narrative home. One-shot too short for a film, 60+ ch. manga too long. Unless this film sees immense profit from all parties, they don't have the budget to produce a normal 12 episode series. All that said I'm still hype, considering KyoAni will be on-point with the art and character design. |
