| Tor browser isn't about security, it's about anonymity, but only if you can trust the exit nodes, because they could start a man in the middle attack. I wouldn't run any personal browsing session like shopping or even using a community site like MAL with it. edit: unless you have to go to the deep web, I'd rather spent a few bucks monthly for a VPN, but only for bypassing restrictions. |

You could also test Tails and see whether that works for you. |
| TOR is really good for bypassing filters. Just avoid the deep web because you might stumble on some child porn and that's just nasty. |

| Tor, by default, will block browser plugins such as Flash, RealPlayer, Quicktime, and others. They can be manipulated into revealing your IP address. So don't ever enable these plugins when surfing the deep web. If you'll just surf the deep web, you're pretty much safe. As long as you don't buy/sell drugs, sell national secrets or watch/share/download child porn. The authorities have bigger fish to fry. |
