| Here's what happens: A hired mercenary kills your parents. Soon after, you're given the offer to have either the mercenary or his employer killed. If you choose the mercenary, there's a 95% chance success rate. However, if you choose the man who payed the mercenary, there's a 30% chance that the kill won't be successful. And if you choose both, there's only a 20% chance success rate. If the kills fail, there's an 85% chance that the mercenary will come back to kill you. What would you choose? |

The fact that you don't know chances in life is what can drastically change the choice. The merc killed my innocent parents, so he's gonna have to die. And yes, I'm gonna have to at least try to take out the person who hired them too. Otherwise, how will I know the rest of my family is safe? |

What I would choose would have to be based on what i know of the world, which is I won't know the chance of success I would just have to try and face the consequences. Going after a dangerous merc has no meaning if I know I will be 95% successful if I do, it loses the risk factor which would be key in my decision making. If I went on the magic fairies Idea I wouldn't be making the choice I would make. Im making a choice as some character in a fictional world, in which case would be vastly different to what I as a person would choose myself. Making the idea kinda moot. Is all im saying. So i'll have to leave this question alone im afraid. |
