Such a fitting ending. This adaptation was great, it added just enough to improve the story without changing the tone. I've been saying it since episode 2 but I have so much love for the soundtrack.

This is by far one of the most emotional endings that I've seen! This episode was perfect, I mean everything, the animation, the OSTs, the dialogue, everything. I know the ending uet I found myself shedding a tear though I didn't when I read the manga long time ago.

Reading a series and watching it are really two different things.

This really is the best part of Kuroshitsuji - I'm really happy to see it so well adaptated.
The end was good. I'm really glad.

This was great. 10/10 for this season.
I'm so glad the circus troupe died, just as they should have. They had it coming after doing all those despicable things.
Ciel gave me the creeps. I loved it. He looked more malicious than Sebastian when they faced Doll and Sebby is a demon. *snorts* I don't remember Ciel looking evil in the manga in that scene at all. I remember him looking more tired and resigned.
His speech about being human was amazing. It made me shiver in the manga and gave me goosebumps. It did now too. It was fantastic.

Beautifully made adaption.
The end gave me chills.
The piano play was wonderful and the OST overall was fantastic.
I'm sad for the circus crew, because I loved each of them, but as someone previously said, they had it coming. I'm glad my favorite Snake is alive tho'. Poor him being left alone.
Undertaker showing his left eye *faints*

Now let's roll onto the next arcs, shall we? I'm glad the Manor Murder case is being animated.

The last 2 episodes of Book of Circus were astounding. Ciel definitely gave me the chills in the last episode, it was sad to see almost everyone of Noah's Ark Circus get killed, I mean they even killed Doll, in the manga it was bit ambiguous on whether she died or not because Ciel simply just said "Sebastian" but the Heaven sequence in the anime confirms her death with her appearance in it of her transforming from Doll to her real look and joining her adoptive family in the Heavens. I know they committed awful crimes but I rather seem them go to Heaven than Hell. I am of course assuming that there is a Heaven and Hell since Sebastian is a demon.

Book of Circus was fantastic and I'm giving it a 10/10, it is the best Kuroshitsuji TV series out of the 3 so far.

Next is Book of Murder......oh I can't wait for that.

An overall great anime with a great finale with my only complaint being that it’s only 10 episodes long(if you can even call that a flaw, especially since it might’ve been just the right length). I even re-watched a bit of the 1st season when Book of Circus premiered to re-familiarize myself with the amazing characters Sebastian & Ciel are. I don’t know if I’ll ever get tired of these two. Whenever they have a conversation my attention is 100% directed at them and nothing else. Of course, the fact that the show manages to create such an engaging atmosphere also helps. I was even getting a bit attached to some of the circus members for a while there, namely Joker,Beast & Doll, more than shows with many more episodes at their disposal so can’t say I didn’t feel sorry for them…Farewell Noah’s Ark and R.I.P. And thanks for the wonderful performance!

Tempting as it may be,I won’t read the manga now. If A-1 Pictures can make such high quality adaptations, then I’m willing to wait for the next one.

Excellent show,9.5/10 from me and I'm glad to see it made it in MAL's top 100.

Agree. It's better than previous 2 season. I hope we will be getting a sequel soon. Do they have enough material for it?
But it's important to remember that a movie review is subjective;it only gives you one person's opinion.

It doesn't matter if you like LoGH,Monster etc.If you are a jobless or college/school dropout living in your mom basement, you are still an unintelligent loser. Taste in anime does not make you a better person. If elitist don't exist, casual pleb and shit taste also don't exist.

Can anyone tell me where the manga picks up from where this left off?

Also it seems a bit weird for him to say he couldn't have saved the children. He's loaded with money helping rehab 20-30 children would be easy for him. Just set up a place with them all to stay at with as many specialists as needed prob would be like .05% of his net worth lol. But I guess the show isn't as dramatic if he doesn't roast all the innocent children

A wonderfully faithful and amazingly executed finale. I'm so so so happy that they were so faithful to the manga, and the ending gave me chills. It's definitely an anime ending that stays with you and it was heartbreaking to watch.

I might be wrong, but that part with Snake didn't happen in the manga from what I remember? When he said "It's lonely to be alone," my heart absolutely broke, especially since I love Snake.

Amazing performances from all the seiyuu too, but especially Maaya-san's performance with the mini crazy breakdown Ciel has at the workhouse. Overall I loved this anime, and I can't wait for Book of Murder.

Nah, there's no any difference at all, I think he was just talking about the performance in the very ending of the episode, it's like the circus members were saying "goodbye ", that wasn't in the manga, I mean this:

That performance made the ending of the anime much "lighter" than the manga.

Book of Circus has ended and I feel happy, sad and a little unsatisfied.

I'm happy because of the good ending for this arc. I feel actually sad for the deaths of the circus members and even Doll who I think didn't deserve to die (all of the members didn't deserve to die but still). I gave even more impact after we've seen the flashback of Joker. I think it is good too that I haven't seen Doll die on screen or else I would have been really despressed. Unfortunately (and this is more for me). There was not much screentime for Undertaker and Grell, who are two of my favourite characters :(

The unsatisfaction comes from some topics that haven't been shown in the series. For example what will happen with Snake after he walks away and maybe we could have also seen the servants after the fight, but most of all that the series was actually very short. Only 10 episode compared to Black Butler (24) and Black Butler II (12). I just hope that we don't have to wait for 2 years or something to get to see new Black Butler episodes. I've heard they are making an OVA i believe called: 'Book of Murder' but that's it. This open-ending gives me a little feeling of unsatisfaction but maybe the unanswered questions I have could be answered in other episodes or OVA's.

Still the ending of the series is beautiful when you see the members of the circus meeting up in heaven and I a certain way are happy at the end.

Now I can only hope that 'Book of Murder' and the other future projects of Black Butler will just follow the manga like Book of Circus has done.

I give the episode: 9
+ Good ending for the series
+ The revelation at the end with the abandoned orphanage.
+ The open ending that can mean that there will come more (I HOPE SO!!)

- Unsolved topics
- Less closure for other characters

Then for this season I give it: 8.4
+ Beautiful/Great animation.
+ Continuation of the manga
+ Unique characters
+ More dark and bloody.

- A few moments with censorship
- Not much screentime for other characters
- Only 10 episodes...:(

As expected of the series, a beautiful and tragic conclusion. How unsettling it was to see Ciel laugh but I did like what Sebastian had to say by the end. And that vision of potential peace for the kids although perhaps that was just wishful thinking.

I think Noah's Ark members' performance there at the end actually made it even more tragic for me,seeing their carefree smiles and how they, like all humans, sought happiness. They tasted sorrow, followed by some happiness although not one without guilt and finally ended up tasting sorrow again. Their transformation from victims to the ones who victimize(which is a main theme of Kuroshitsuji) was short-lived and that performance with Ciel's hatband reminded me of all that. It really goes to the show's credit how it manages to make one feel so sad about some side characters in the span of just 10 episodes.

Albeit definitely not as interesting, I find their story quite a more tragic & hopeless than Ciel's. At the very least,he is in a position of power as one who victimizes and even seems to enjoy himself from time to time. And of course he is because after all, he's the one to decide who's futures he'll rob. One could say that's not true since he's "The Queen's Guard Dog" but he doesn't seem to mind it, or at least not nearly as much as the the circus members did when killing people and kidnapping children for their "father". I definitely don't consider Ciel fortunate or anything because we all know that eventually, he'll pay a greater price than most of his victims but while he's alive, he mostly acts on his own terms and got to chose how he'll meet his end as well.

Okay, with consideration, that was honestly really good overall no matter how much I hated season 1 and 2. This show gives off strong FMA vibes. It would have been way better if season 1's canon arcs combined with this. 7/10 Still, I felt as if 10 episodes weren't enough. It could have had more, but alas, still did well.

After seeing the previous episode I knew it - the best and the darkest animated arc so far! Bloody, mindfucking, with main character being a total egoist and asshole. Unfair world, where no one is innocent or pure, and the good guys aren't 'good' at all. Absolutely loved it, my favourite arc of the Kuroshitsuji series. Hope this sells well, and we will see more in the future! 9/10

I was hoping at least Doll would survive D':
Wonder whats in store for Snake, I expect he might show up later on..?
Also I am happy that Ciel accepted that he was no better than the rest of them.
Man..those last few minutes were glorious! Perfect with Sebastian's quote.

All in all really awesome arc, one of the best show's this season, if not the best. Can't wait for the OVA and hopefully we'll get a full TV series after.

Well that was fucking depressing and heart wrenching. Though I can't approve of what they did, I do think the circus members were victims more than anythng else. Placed in a situation like that, there isn't much else they could've done if they wanted to keep on living and it's really heart breaking to see that all they (especially Joker) did was essentially for nothing in the end... Really dark and depressing arc but a very good one as well. Not very enjoyable, but good nontheless.

This arc was really good, the end was incredibly terrifying, I mean I expect Kuroshitsuji to be serious since it's a "seinen" but these feels are paragonable to FMA's feels, heck, even well executed, glad I watched. We just need more arcs like this, but maybe that will be too much for my poor wounded heart.

Wow, I loved it! I almost cried at Joker's death--because he's my favorite character--and Freckles's realization. I guess she died.

Ciel kind of just broke down at the end and it's my favorite part of the episode. (Have I mentioned that I love him?) He just like makes Sebastain ride in 3rd class while he rides in 1st class wow. He's so mean and rude and uncaring and heartless! So I love him. I also really want to know what happened to him with those people--he was going to be made into bone china, right?
