I hadn't cried watching any piece of media till I watched the ending of Anohana. Since then I guess I've come to learn to give into these emotions.

There are many emotional feelings I have when watching anime. Also when listening to music.

But there is one specific feeling I can not place. It happens when watching certain anime. It doesn't have to be a good anime at all. I have it too when I listen to stuff like toromi or mosaic.wav. But I only get it with japanese stuff. It's like an emotional blanket. Warm and fuzzy, but also kinda sad. It is a feeling I can not share with anyone but It is such a specific feeling and it is so strong there should be a term for it. Or maybe it's just me :p

A few times. The one time I remember most clearly was an episode of Inuyasha, the one where the little girl died in a fire and her spirit was haunting her mother. I remember just straight up bawling over that one.

Yep all the time especially when a character dies, or if a character loses a loved one, or a character's past is dark and gloomy.

Yes, if I feel enough of a connection with the characters, then I’ll obviously feel something if the show attempts to show us an emotional scene that centers around them. Of course, with proper set up and without it feeling too artificial like a certain scene in Clannad....
To judge others by your own standard is the height of folly.

Sometimes. I've never cried or anything watching an anime, but I can recall a few moments in particular that made me pretty emotional:

The ending of Yugioh

Steins:Gate, when

In Bleach, when

This ground is soiled by those before me and their lies. I dare not look up for on me I feel their eyes

Same here, lol! It depends on what they're tugging at. Family and children stuff destroy me.

Violet Evergarden really got me with the episodes involving the father and his daughter, as well as the sick mother and her daughter.

As stupid as it may sound, Darling in the FranXX, which gets made fun of for its ending, got me misty-eyed in the end 'cause of the main characters' conclusions. Bittersweet!

I only get emotional if it’s a sad scene with powerful music.

Not generally, with only a few exceptions. Hotarubi no Mori e made me cry like a little baby, but then again "your name" didn't have the same effect despite both shows having sad themes.

Yes, quite. My eyes get wet really often but I have never actually cried. My emotions show show up more while watching anime though.

Just like with any kind of media, it depends on what I'm watching, and how invested it got me, so ye I do sometimes get emotional watching anime, just like with anything else

I'd say most stuff I ranked 9 or above are things that got me somewhat moved or invested emotionally, if you managed to do that with your show its an instant high score from me, cause making you care about the characters and the story is one hecc of an important thing

Some of the stuff that got me emotional the most:

Angel beats
Violet evergarden
Made in abyss
Beastars (yes I cried to furries and I'm not ashamed)
Mob psycho 100
A silent voice
And fate zero (the last few episodes messed me up real good)

Emotional in the sense of sadness, frustration or anger. Sure.

Emotional as in crying, nope. Never.

The only time I find myself getting emotional while watching anime is when two characters are bonding with each other or seeing a character's backstory, especially if it's a character I'm heavily attached to.
(JJBA is a really good example for this, haha!)
