Not from they're work or what they have to do to survive, part of the price for their powers is losing emotions. Each contractor has an arbitrary "payment" they feel they must do after using their powers. This can be a massive handicap like the finger snapping guy or pointless like the pebble positioning guy. They aren't human, appeared along with the gates and each has a star in the false sky which fluctuates when they use their powers and falls when they die. |

| I'm definitely intrigued by the mystery of the wall and sky and look forward to learning more. It was interesting to watch the process of someone becoming a contractor and the different prices they have to pay. Although Hei was on a mission, it was sweet of him to wander the night with the girl and cheer her up - before everything goes to hell. |

| Nice buildup episode for this arc, interested to know about the survivor who went in the Gate and came back to have his personality warped like that and also what happens to Mai too in the next episode after the inferno events. Li hanging out with Mai through the night and giving her company after her depression due to her loneliness was nice, although Li's such a damn convincing actor for this situation. The pacing felt a bit slow but that's the kind of pacing required I feel for arcs like these to get the most out of it. |

| I can't believe the contractor has to fold pages in a book like that. I absolutely hate it when people mark pages like that in books and this guy did it for every page in that book. Between this and Louis's finger snapping, it's obvious Hell's Gate is just hella sadistic. |

| Whoa whoa, Hei is really good at getting people comfortable with him and then prying secrets out of them. This is why strangers are scary! And I was thinking that Hei did have a big appetite, hence why he kept eating large portions. But then I read the early replies and responses on this forum saying that it could be a form of his contract. If that's true then I think that's pretty lame for such a cool character.... |
