I may be depressed and in despair if that happened but I wouldnt whine. Stop portraying whiny bitches as normal, you can have problems without whining about them that much. Its just that some people either choose or simply are like that, they express their problems too much and they even amplify their gravity. And thats why I hate characters like Shinji or Yuki. I am just not the type to whine. Id try to do something about it but I wouldnt pointlessly whine. I would tell people who could help me about it, but I wouldnt whine if there is no purpose to it. A serial killer probably isnt something I could handle alone so I wouldnt just keep it to myself and try to deal with it alone, but until now I have never whined to anybody in my life about my problems, and while I may not have had the gravest of troubles in my life it still stands that I never complained about it to anybody especially not in whiny manner. I keep to myself and try to solve it myself without pointlessly whining to people that couldnt help me anyway. |

| Not particularly a fan of such characters in general, but only Shinji was done right and even calling him "whiny" is an out of context accusation. Yuki for example, didn't annoy me because he's whiny, but because he's just a terrible character and it made little sense for him to be like that, considering his background and loving parents. And even if you wanna argue that it is justified somehow, his characterization made no sense to begin with and every reaction he had seemed completely plastic and artificial. He doesn't even flinch when others are killed and he recovers very quickly and moves on like nothing happened.. But then again all of the characters are like that in that complete garbage of a show. |

| Didn't answer the poll, there was no, "It depends" option. I do like how Shinji is realistic same goes with Yukki from Mirrai Nikki. But I don't like Shinji in the rebuilds, he has a lack of personality in those and really just makes me want to punch him in the face. (Then again the rebuilds are kind of a bad adaptation of the original) If a character is whiny, they have to have a reason to be whiny instead of just being whiny, you know what I mean. edit: I hated Yukki's japanese voice, I had to watch the dub because of it. I probably would have hated the character if I had watch the Japanese version. |
