So I was thinking about buying some manga along with my earphones because of Amazon's free shipping for over $35 deal and I wanted to get the first volume of One Piece.
I'm a native American speaker so obviously I can't get the Japanese version since I haven't learned Japanese (yet).
I wanted to know if there are any differences between the English and Japanese versions of the manga.
Differences such as excluding certain pages/parts, using romaji for attack names instead of translating into english, if the english version keeps all of the mangaka comments and Q&A, sketches, etc.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you!!

There's a few differences, but nothing too bad.

Gomu Gomu = Gum Gum/Rubber Rubber *shrug*
Zoro = Zolo

etc. etc.

There's a few other things (other than names) but again, nothing really noticeable.

Ahh crap. That's actually a deal breaker. Thanks for letting me know. Glad I didn't spend my money on it yet.
