According to the official brochure of "Kara no Kyoukai 7: Satsujin Kousatsu (Part 2)", the epilogue chapter of the original novel will be released either as an OVA or a special movie. The epilogue titled "Kara no Kyoukai" is about a conversation between Mikiya and 「 」. Nasu Kinoko said that the chapter is the essential part of the whole series, so ufotable proposed a separate movie instead of adding extra 5min part at the end of the chapter 7. lol wtf. "so ufotable proposed a separate movie instead of adding extra 5min part at the end of the chapter 7." What was wrong with an extra 5 minutes at the end of the movie? If it could explain everything, then there's nothing wrong with it. I see this as a cash grab. Sexy quotes: |

More KnK = Good. Considering every part of KnK is an insta-classic stuff which will be discussed and praised for decades, I don't see how Epilogue being a separate movie would be bad? |

If your comment wasn't so fanboyish, maybe I'd consider it as a good argument. There is nothing at all 'classic' about KnK. Take away the fancy animation and the soundtrack, and you have an incredibly mundane and slow paced (in this case not a good thing) story with underdeveloped characters and a lot of inconsistency. That's not to say I don't like them. I like them to an extent, but there is nothing at all special about them. Sexy quotes: |

BigSimo said: Because it's not the epilogue of the 7th movie, but the epilogue of the whole story. I think the reason why Kara no Kyoukai airs in a non-linear order is because it can be watched in any kind of order. And putting the epilogue into the middle of the story just doesn't seem to be logical.lol wtf. "so ufotable proposed a separate movie instead of adding extra 5min part at the end of the chapter 7." Fanboy-ish comment aside, ufotable pitched the idea of seven movies in the first place so they could bring out the most out of the novel. As Fai suggests, each movie probably has its own animation budget planned out, but ufotable probably ran out of resources when it came to Movie 7. Instead of just squeezing five minutes in there (because five minutes really wouldn't be able to explain much of anything), they started on another movie to avoid the budget problem. I'm very much sure that this part is going to included in the seventh DVD release as a bonus OVA, because that movie won't be complete without it. It's not a cashgrab, as it still takes resources to make such a thing. A cashgrab would be that KnK recap movie. |
