| Let's see... FMA: Brotherhood- A more traditional shounen title compared to the 2003 FMA anime. Steins;Gate- I did enjoy the storyline and time traveling premise to the series. But would I have it among my Top 30 anime? Not by a long shot. Gintama stuff- Looks like MAL has quite a fanbase for the series if multiple titles for the franchise are ranked this high. Clannad After Story- The developments with Nagisa and Tomoya's relationship are nice, but you have to press through the first eight episodes worth of filler to get to them and the rather convenient deus ex machina finale hurt its quality quite a bit. Code Geass (first and R2)- The first season is reasonably decent for its premise despite its flaws, but not Top 30 worthy. On the other hand, R2 is one of the most notable trainwrecks of an anime I've seen and is way too pretentious. Hunter x Hunter- Another long-running, cookie-cutter shounen title. Hajime no Ippo (original and New Challenger)- Decent boxing title, but far from deserving of a Top 30 spot. Monogatari: Second Season- Much as I love the Monogatari franchise, I don't see any entry for the series being Top 30 worthy. Attack on Titan- Is getting way more hype than it deserves. While sporting a nice visual presentation, the pacing for the series gets too slow at many points and beyond a few major characters, mostly every other character in the series has little depth and personality. Natsume Yuujincho Shi- I love Natsume, but the series is a bit of an acquired taste as such that not everyone will love it and I wouldn't consider it to be part of my Top 30. |

| Guys, guys, guys... ...seriously, it's Code Geass R2. For a series about such a brilliant anti-hero, the pure stupidity of that series is ASTOUNDING. It's one of the most poorly written sequels to a great anime series I've ever seen and I cannot believe so many people up vote it due to it's pretty decent final episode. The fact that it's almost considered a top 10 anime just goes to show that you should never put your faith in the average anime fan because the average anime fan is dumb and yes, I have been called dumb for the anime I do like as well. Still, that doesn't defeat the fact that Code Geass R2 has a swiss cheese cheese plot with buckshot character development. I've never seen a series write such brilliant characters only to tear the characters apart in it's sequel series. There are so many things I could say about Code Geass R2, but I'll leave it for now that that anime should not even be in the top 300, let alone the top 30. Honorable Mention vote: Death Note |
| Personally HxH (2011) shouldnt be in the top 30 Half the episodes are just watching Gon and Killua say they're gonna become stronger, half of the chimera ant arc was watching the ant king play some board game, they even overall even though the hunter exam arc and HxH Armin's arc were really cool, the rest was just meh |

I'd be inclined to disagree since I thought Nisemonogatari wasn't nearly as good. I'd say out of all the Monogatari anime, Bake was the best (albeit slightly). In regards to laldonkaments, Monogatari is a rather unique series with it's own storytelling quirks. I think it's pretty damn good, but I can see why you might think it's pretentious. Bakemonogatari was an acquired taste for me. I didn't particularly care for it at first, but the more I watched it, the more addicting it grew. You definitely need to give it more than two episodes, I'll say that much. |

To put it bluntly, it feels like a "hipster" word nowadays. I used to use it every now and again to describe a few anime I've watched. Can't say I've had to whip it out lately though. |

| monogatari is my favorite anime and ill admit it is pretentious. i think the people who say nobody knows what pretentious means should look up what it means. monogatari's circular dialogue and completely random plot is the definition of pretentious. |

Doesn't matter if the movie better or not; for me if she's in it, then it's automatically bad since I can't stand her. Thanks for the information. If every scene she appears can be easily skipped no problem, I might watch it. |

| Monogatari is trying to be intelligent by being brilliant, but in an aesthetic way, through non sequitur dialogues and unusual camera angles. I can smell a bit of pretentiousness. But it's a good pretentiousness, because no moral/ethical implications are involved. It's pretentiousness for the sake of being badass ♥ If you people don't think it means it's trying to be intelligent, i'm ok with it. It's not that important. |

It was ranked 71 before Kaiki's arc IIRC, went down a bit to 78 or lower, then continued rising during it's airing before the big jump from when it ended it was 50 something. |
