OMG, this show.... this episode in particular, it was the most cringeworthy single episode of anime I've ever watched.... That f.... Inaho vs Slaine scene was soooo forced, it was all soooo convenient, just like it was sooo convienient how basically the Earth forces and Inaho too knew EXACTLY where the princess was at ALL TIMES. Also I hated how overdramatic the Inaho vs Slaine scene was -,- they make a big deal out of such a lame fight. Inaho is OP rekt Kirito noscoper... Gets a tiny bullet wound, loses consciousness, and then the op bs eye takes him over and CONVIENIENTLY conveys instructions to Asseylum and the lil one on how to get safely away. Then we get the lamest romantic scene in the history of anime, the most forced romance in any anime I've ever watched.... Inaho shows no emotion the entire series, at some point he randomly realises that he loves her, >that it>.... then the Seylum and lil one CONVIENIENTLY meet the blonde kiddo who also perfectly knew where they were..... Shouldnt the biggest and baddest and most powerful base of the Marsian side be big enough that actually finding someone your looking for randomly be hard? But nope, it sounds like the base is fooking 10 rooms big so finding anyone is very CONVENIENT I love how they made Slaine say some unrealistic BS just to justify his future death. I also hated how that Lemrina grill betrayed Slaine (which was sooo out of character -,-) she should've just shot the princess but instead we get a 'cliffhanger' for some time until the princess reappears, really did anybody expect her to be shot? Nah, the princess got bigger plot armour than Inaho himself.... Also I really hoped the god damn eye plot convenience eye AI would actually be aimed at killing Asseylum instead of just giving them convenient information for no reason. aside from plot convenience. I hate the whole Inaho vs Slaine theme of this anime.... I would be MUUUCH happier if they made it a Vers vs Earth anime with world building & all but nope, everything revolves around Inaho and his OPness and Slaine and his Slaining. The writing of this show is quite franky, horribru. This show had a bunch of great ideas and themes but the execution is fucking shit. |

As is most of everything that goes wrong in this show Not like he wasn't warned about the uses of the eye...but sure, all his tinkering and 'constantly running a mutative code' was all Slaine's fault. Sure Who is the jealous idiot who blew out his eye in the first place forcing him to get a robotic one? It is Slaine's fault. Try to deny it all you want HURR DURR!!! Inaho pointed a gun at Slaine when Slaine told him to freeze. You're so choked on Inaho's cock that you can't even comprehend the basic facts. For you to be satisfied, Slaine has to bend down and spread for Inaho to do whatever the fuck he wants with no consequences and remain blameless INAHOJESUS for the entire show. Clearly, when Inaho points a gun at Slaine, Slaine should stick the gun into his mouth so Inaho has a clear shot. #Shotsfired I repeat, shotsfired! |

This show is getting so stupid, so the Terrans decided to let the knights have Earth and go for a full on attack to the martian base and the stupid vers don't even have proper installation within their base, like what? I know this is anime but come on, the amount of ph10 (basic) in here is so bad, it's as if they think the audience are 10 y/o -_- |

Why should she show compassion towards the man that: 1. Willingly continues a war she is against 2. Used her image without her consent for nationalistic war propaganda 3.Arranged a marriage with her without her consent 4. Used her little sister as a tool for his power grab. 5. Started a rebellion against her family and claimed independence from Vers. LOL It seems you have that backwards. In fact I think it's some karma she's getting the cold shoulder (and mistreatment of her name and identity) from Slaine for being so blase about what was happening with him in season one. Oh, she didn't know and has yet shown any concern for him going off the deep end too or why he's lost it. I'm enjoying the fact Slaine has zero f*cks left to give to her and has decided to do what he thought Inaho was doing to her in episode 7. I just hope he realizes what he has in Lemrina before that princess gets herself killed for either him or Asseylum. Seriously, Asseylum's lack of concern for Slaine is why I always questioned his motives and actions for her. She is just not worth it and seeing him turn on her, I have no problem with it. It would be nice if we got it from the horse's mouth that Slaine just doesn't love her anymore after being friendzoned despite all he did during season 1. It's been a lonely 20 months for him. |

I don't think I even have to make points on why this episode was awful but still.. I wonder how the eye calculates trajectory of bullets that weren't seen. I wonder how inaho and slaine both miss point blank shots of each other but the follow up is with inaho accurately hitting a much smaller target from much further away. Also a backup A.I in inaho's eye? Really? Being able to hack security systems on the fly on top of it to? This is funnier to me because of a post I made a couple episodes back. http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=1357731&show=40#msg38431597 skudoops said: Interesting how the eye just randomly can do things now like picking up radio signals, who knows what power it contains still! Why did they even send inaho on an infiltration mission anyway? Where in this entire show did it suggest he knew anything about conventional combat much less spec ops training? Also why would they send him alone? Why would they also risk losing him to such a stupid plan? If there are cameras (which inaho hacked) why did the vers troops escorting the princess even get ambushed? Wouldn't they be informed of enemy movements? Speaking of those guards + the sepcial ops team... narrow corridors + automatic weapons = can't hit shit? LMFAO Shit, I wonder how Earth even has a space presence considering vers still has castles floating around. I also don't understand why they want to assassinate the princess.. what do they get out of this? The emperor is still alive so his DNA can be preserved and speaking of the emperor, I like how they wrote him back into the show all convenient like, I was mentioning this in the last episode discussion thread, and funny enough I mentioned this young Cruhteo might be in on a plan with him (we shall wait and see if this happens to, it's funny because he's the one who brought up the emperor, so in all likelihood he's also carrying out orders from him). |

Yes, Slaine is being written into a corner on purpose and giving BS to say to paint him as a "real" villain now instead of an anti-villain. The show is written with a clear bias for Inaho with Inaho even hating on Slaine for repeating something Inaho himself said verbatim back in episode 7. See, you ARE evil because you just want to exploit Asseylum for your own ends!! Dun dun dun!! Umm, Inaho, this supposed exploitation of Hime line is EXACTLY what made Slaine lose his cool, shoot at you when you guys first met and you coldly declared Slaine your enemy after shooting him and leaving him for dead. Even Inaho is being written with zero logic to, as you said, justify Slaine's inevitable death. |

This episode was the epitome of its so bad its good. Did like the infiltration angle. It's those moments where it seems like the writers might make something interesting happen and then they drop it. (I mean earthlings cant deal with the suits... no clue how they survived for 17 months... but there's no reason they simply cant infiltrate and anihilate in close quarters combat.) Really sad Slaine is going to be the villain yada yada with inaho being so unbelieveably soulless. I mean he's not great but he's the interesting thread in the anime and with these writers you can see them throwing him out. |

Military logic!? In my animu? away you liar! Indeed. I'm surprised that, with the potential presence of Kataphrakts in the base, that no-one on the spec ops team thought to bring anti-tank rockets or satchel charges. Because if a 75mm l/70 gun (the KG-6 and 7 are 13.5 meters high and the 75mm autorifle including stock is about half that, thus the barrel length is about 70 calibers) firing APHE can penetrate a martian kataphrakt with relative ease then i'm sure HEAT fired from a light anti-tank weapon can do the same in confined spaces, needless to say that modern spec ops teams usually carry at least one anti-tank weapon for demolition purposes, such as the Carl-Gustav. Additionally, conducting a significant strike on your opponents' home base when the enemy has revised their tactics and are gaining ground almost across the board is strategically unsound, especially when even a comparatively light defense force is so technologically superior as to be able to defeat sheer weight of numbers. But enough about tactics, we're along for the ride. I have to say that this episode was poorly planned. What difference would assassinating asseylum make? It was obvious from the second episode of the first season that, as Marito implied, the Counts are the ones with the real power; the emperor, and thus asseylum, is largely a figurehead. That aside, it should be obvious that things are coming to a finale. Slaine has been painted into the corner as the penultimate villain of the series--a man who, having shed his innocence and sold out his own ideals, has become the definitive product of the society that raised him; he is a man who--having spent his youth being treated as less than human due to ascribed status and all but tortured to death for it--seeks to guarantee his own safety and power through the annihilation of anything that might threaten him. To that end, even the people he cares for are merely tools. Meanwhile, Inaho--the flawed savior--has been taken out of the action at a moment having relied too much upon his mechanical left eye as his Munin and Hugin, though a more apt comparison would be to Al, the onboard-AI for Arbalest in Full-Metal-Panic. It is apparent to me that, while Inaho's condition is potentially fatal, he will end up surviving this. Lemrina, Asseylum and Slaine are another matter entirely, however; Lemrina's fate remains unknown, though it should not be forgotten that she can imitate asseylum. I suspect that she will either pass herself off as asseylum and take a bullet, allowing the real asseylum to escape, or just the opposite happens, allowing Lemrina to visit earth. As for Cruteo Junior, he has served his role. He is a deus-ex machina that allows Asseylum to escape in some form or fashion. As for Marito, Yuki and the others, their fate depends on how competent the two marian kataphract pilots are; the yo-yo pilot is easily defeated, as the spools can be destroyed or circumvented. The real threat is Harklight and his bits, of which there are at least twenty. There will be at least one major character death next episode, I can say that much, and Slaine's death is virtually preordained; his death would spell the end of his new kingdom, and fracture the remaining knights into squabbling factions which could then be dispatched individually. Other than that, I had no problems with the episode, other than that it seemed inconclusive. |

Like you said they are literally grasping at straws, and the majority of the time they say the exact same things that were debunked a long time ago. They have no argument at all anymore, and now they are just ranting for attention. Not everyone who is disappointed with the show is incapable of putting together a valid opinion. |

Nah I get people who are disappointed and actually have good criticism, and I don't mind those people pointing out their concerns. I'm talking about the half sentence posters who's entire post consists of "this show is so horribly bad" without anything to back up their statements and who post the same thing in every episode thread since like episode 4 of the first cour... of course i'm exaggerating but you get the point right? |

Eh, yea. I know what you mean. There will always be those people. They don't encourage any discussion generally, which is pretty bleh. Some of them may just think the board is toxic though. It certainly has... uh... personality. |

Not sure if someone mentioned this already but the voice actor for the Vers Emperor, Shinji Ogawa, sadly passed away recently, so we might not see him again for the rest of the season. |

It is really recent, and the voices are usually recorded with some time. He might have had a few episodes recorded already, especially since he has very little lines. Was it an illness, or an accident. If it was an illness they probably made him record before in order to give him time to rest and recover, if it was an accident though they might not have the lines recorded. |

Plus there is seriously someone still defending slaine o.O seriously, I mean i get some people like him as a villian but there is still someone saying "slaine did nothing wrong". I enjoyed the first half a lot. But this second half, yikes. It was by episode 16 that I realized that this was just going to be very very bad in comparison to the first half. In the first half, I was a Slaine fan. And I enjoyed the competition with the Inaho fans. But now, I dont like either of them. Ever since they took out Saazb (my favorite character), its just meh. Only reason why I didnt drop it by episode 16 is because I wanted to see how this all ends. It was 16 down, 8 to go. Now its 22 down, 2 to go. |

That's perfectly fine and all, and those are reasons you have for disliking the show that are pretty valid. If you compare your post to the posts in the first five pages you'll understand there is a big difference about what i'm talking about. Your post shows you have reasons for being disappointed and you don't really insult the show anyway, they put stuff like "this show is so horribly bad" and they've been posting that since season 1. My comment was directed to those type of people, not towards someone like you. |

Infiltration is currently underway and it looks to be an intense war going on. That guy with the blue Kataphrakt who sliced the others looks strong. I like that confrontation of Inaho and Slaine. I guess it's confirmed that Slaine is the enemy according to Inaho. Well, it's all still unclear. Hahaha! Inaho got controlled and it's really hilarious. Maybe he'll get improved arms and legs if they were to be damaged. Asseylum gets rescued by Klancain. I sense something mysterious about them meeting. |

Slow first half episode but it got a little bit interesting when Inaho suddenly get mind controlled near the end. I wanted to see Slaine's reaction when Seylum say that Inaho is a part of her tho, that could have been fun. 3/5 |

Hmmmm....... inconsistencies kinda strike again here.T_T While the animation is great and boy the EF own Landing Castle looks really cool there. Attaching a huge thing into Deucalion and adding new Catapult system is really nice.^_^ The battle itself is not really nice. Why can't the Vers even landed a single hit towards EF army when the last battle in space, both had difficulties to land even a single hit.T_T The battle only started to turn back to Vers side after the Count go out. Of course Asseylum and Lemrina continue to disapoint me.T_T First i thought they are going to give some explanation on what does the two princess talked about which lead to Lemrina stop trying to kill Asseylum but nope. They just forget about that and when back to how Lemrina hated Asseylum. At least Lemrina not following Asseylum running had been a better choice as it fit with Lemrina personality where she is gloomy and pessimistic. Asseylum however, i feel is worst here.T_T The fact that she can even utter that the one she cared the most is the Vers civilization and it's people makes me hate her so much. She never said anything about that in S1, she never shows care when her double dies, she also don't know the pain of the lower class Vers who is stomp by the Counts and she can said these??? It is really a bad choice of word from the writer there. Even if i myself don't know how to salvage Asseylum character this far. Also, Seylum said that from young all she is taught is that she must care for the Vers people first then the others. It contradicted her action here as she does not seems to bother when the Vers army was destroyed outside there, the EF forces where she chooses to follow keep killing and destroying Vers army. All Seylum action i see only show that the peace she wanted is Lalaland where logic and reality does not exist only dreams. For Inaho and Slaine, i don't find anything bad except for how undermanned the castle is. Inaho Super Powerful "Eye" had AI had not surprised me here considering how the Eye had again and again seems to be the answer for almost everything in this show. Hell it can now even sees people temperature behind the big steel cargo, map all enemy map easily and determined where the princess location is. The last thing we need is the Eye will become a super wish granting item that can grant any wish lol. Now, i can only hope to see the Eye end up having it's own mind and take over Inaho's broken mind lol. It maybe can become like Migi from Kiseijuu.^_^ Slaine, he simply had go too far, too deep to stop. He will probably only stop the moment he is killed. My only hope is stay alive Lemrina. U don't deserve to die for that baka blond princess. Ohhh yeah Mazureck, u there?????? |
