now this is how you do an episode completely unrelated to the main story arc and make it freaking AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(needs more exclamation marks)
Knew something big was gonna go down when I realized the "Saw" was narrating. Couldn't stop laughing throughout the whole episode. XD
Some selected howlarious moments-
Saw disguising himself as an American.
"Amen" and what came after that.
Jin's 'death'.
The village leader's death(?) in retrospect.
Mugen's canon(It looked liked Furuya's pitch upped to 100.)

Finally much better than the "Madara Ver-0" in the previous episode.

Its hard to find non-'filler' in the first place with Champloo. You should just accept every episode really, infact, in a weird way this is more 'canon' if you will, than other episodes, because the whole hook behind Champloo is the melding of modern and historic and you cant get more juxtoposition than Americans playing baseball against Japanese.

Champloo was never about a narrative we're meant to follow, and its almost not even like Bebop with characters driving the show. Champloo is just a random remix of Japan itself; past and present. Watanabe has the sense to end the show with character interactions and conflict but we as viewers shouldnt feel bored when they're not on their flimsy 'mission', we're just observers of a unique representation of Japan really.

Quoted for truth. While I will most certainly skip last episode in an eventual rerun of the series, I will not skip this one. Ridiculous and silly? Yes. Pointless? No way. Indeed one of the funniest episodes in Samurai Champloo, but far from the best.

Yeah even I was a little bored in the beginning bacuse the episodes felt disconnected but the main narrative doesn't really matter. Each episode involves mixing Edo Japan with other pop cultures in history.

This funny baseball match was as satisfying as watching the usa basketball team repeatedly beaten by different other nationals before and during the Athens Olympics from 2004, which is by coincidence the exact year when Samurai Champloo was released. Also a good choice for a last "light" episode before returning to the main plot for real.

Also, where they passing through Saga? Was a certain Yuugiri already around?

It was a really funny episode, however I would like them to focus more on the story itself. A bad point of this anime that I noticed, is that many episodes, like this one, have nothing to do with the main story or have very few related points.

Another art experiment, I don't mind, especially because this one was much more engaging than the zombie episode. Yet, I'm by this point dead tired by Jin getting done dirty. It's not that I dislike Mugen getting the spotlight more often, but are the writers really not convinced that Jin's character can support a few episodes on his own? Too late now as we are entering the endgame anyway.
