Welp, yet another Isekai reincarnation show...this time, featuring a patisserie chef being killed by one of his own large candy sculptures falling on him. His new name: Pastry Mille Morteln, after being given a second chance at life through reincarnation. Not going to lie, this was a creative way of getting Isekai-ed.

OST is average as heck, even with sajou no hana's sana helming the OP.

His father, the military hero and fief of Morteln, Casserole worked hard to grow a village along with his wife, and by then, Pastry grew up in the typical Isekai reincarnation phase, as is with many other shows of the same kind, though in a field that does not allow him to create sweets. Even worse, there's a band of bandits coming their way to rid them off with the ir crops, with their available weapons being only plowing hoes and stalks. The next potential suzerain lord, but putting him on the paces of the coming-of-age, the Sanctification Ritual, which is deemed for young men of ages 13 to 17, comes early for Pas, and both mother and daughter Agnes and Josephine...really know how to dress him up like a cross-dressing cosplay doll. And with that, both Pas and Casserole make waves for the city through his magic.

Onwards to the capital city Bolvadia, this is paradise for Pas with ingredients to make sweets, he's only interested in the pastry, not the actual politics and shiz. Having the Santification Ceremony done this soon, and it being a True Sanctification to draw magic powers from within him, it's a success for a kid whose maturity came early. As a reward, he chooses an apple a.k.a bonka to eat with his father, and that is a secret between father and son.

Mildly interesting, but not all that different from your typical Isekai.

The animation and art are very subpar.

The character designs leave much to be desired.

The world building is shallow.

The character names are fun atleast :/.

The character development was rushed.

The show itself was just moving from one trope to another trope. There was nothing original. When they got to the highly overused dress trope halfway through the episode my patience was at its limit.

In every isekai anime I always question that is it necessary for the protagonist to have a reincarnation/isekai beginning, and for this anime I don't think it's necessary, it'll do just fine being a straightforward fantasy/medieval anime. But from a marketing point of view, being an isekai attract more customers, so I don't blame them.

Murase Ayumu forever "cursed" to voice characters that will cross dress at some point in the story.

The show seems chill enough to relax on Mondays, plus ED is by YuNi !!!! What is it with all my fav singers now having anime OPs and EDs.

At this point I keep watching these isekai just to see how the MCs died.

It's alright at best. Might watch the second episode, but I guess I stick to Sugar Apple Fairy Tale.

I watch every single Gourmet Anime, so yes, it's an Isekai so I'm all in. And what do I get out of episode 1?

  • Truck-kun was fired, his job was outsourced to a giant, Phoenix Sugar Sculpture-Kun
  • Which fell on the MC ... and we see a growing pool of cherry syrup (blood). What a sweet, violent death that the coroner will rule as a "Misadventure".
  • MC is reborn as a kid, knows some agriculture. He wisely didn't tell them that soy being a legume can fix nitrogen (fertilizer) in the soil so this will be good for crop rotation with wheat next season.
  • His dreams about food during his sanctification ceremony was all the food service (where is my food porn?) we got this episode, all the way until
  • the end ... how about them apples?

Promising start.

Loved it (although I quite like the safe "OP protagonist" tropes), and I liked how they had the "find out the MC has loads of magic power" in a (initially dodgy looking) sensory deprivation chamber.

Looking forward to seeing how the cooking/growing etc develops. Guess it's Farming Life and Campfire Cooking mashed together with more isekai tropes maybe?

The plot is typically going in the direction where the main character becomes overpowered, due to which I persoBut, at the beginning of the episode, the faces not being shown is a bit odd.

Wow Murase Ayumu having at least 2 isekai anime as lead in one season?
He really is busy.

Again, really nice to start an isekai anime.
This is kind of more ridiculous than the 'Jitsu wa ore saikyou deshita' Murase Ayumu is also a lead in.

But let's see how it turns out. Also, it appears they released 2 episodes in one day. Really generous.

I didn't see the isekai tag so I thought it was just a pure fantasy... I was expecting it to be a gourmet anime like Isekai Shokudou but the sweets version. Well but it's an okay start.

Oh and the priest lol.

I like this anime. Nice and calming. But why is he so obsessed to make sweets in this new world and for the sake of sweets at that, not as some business? If I go somewhere without sweets, I keep it that way. Nothing good comes from eating sugar.

Getting crushed by a giant sugary sculpture is certainly an interesting way to go. I like a chill simple isekai, so hopefully it stays that way and Pastry won't have to go on an adventure to slay the demon lord with the power of diabetes.

Pretty nice episode imo! I thought the whole beginning bit was a bit weird though. Like they couldn't bother to design all those people in the crowd or even the competitors? That was a bit weird but putting that aside this really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be judging from the show's current score

I actually missed this from the upcoming series, I've got to say, it looks like another light-hearted SoL in isekai.

P.S. You just gotta love the MC's mother and big sister playing with him.

Overall, this one seems promising. The theme songs were cool enough.

It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

I knew that damn panda couldn't be trusted. Never trust a robe wearing panda.

I've watched a lot of sugar and cake championships. My sister and I used to hold our breaths when it came time to move their pieces. It's so sad when they break, but the ones that take it back to fix them show their grit.

He's Pastry and his dad's Casserole. I do love me some Cassaroles. slrup.  Dad is sexy af.

Fellas if in ur isekai anime the mc

1. is a guy with a specific skill who gets reincarnated
2. becomes a shota
3. is white haired from his mom genes
4. is a noble son of a lord
5. is trained in the blade from young age by his dad
6. gains epic magic powers
7. is forced to crossdress by his mom
8. gets brought into some dark dungeon for a ritual
9. gets involved in a bondage scene

Then ur isekai anime isn't Okashi na Tensei, it is Sekai Saikou no Ansatsusha, Isekai Kizoku ni Tensei suru

ROFL, the Isekai genre is so overused now

You can literally take the traits of a MC from one series and place it on a MC from another series and nothing would change.

.

I am starting to drop more and more Isekai series cause they're literally all the same MC and setting...

But at least this series has some interesting aspects, such as cooking sweets.

Okay, I just realised that I watched episode 2 before episode 1, and this ^ was about the next ep. No wonder I was so confused. And then proceeded to wait for a week before finally figuring it out, lol.

As a first episode, actually, this one wasn't bad. Kinda weird way to die, but at least it was shown instead of brushed through, as I thought before, hahaha.

MC seems pretty cute, his ambition to create sweets is adorable, and the difference between his dreams and his father's ambition is kinda funny. Now it also makes sense why he does what he does in the next episode, since he's considered an adult already.

This is my first time trying an anime from the “gourmet” genre, and yeah- this is very much about food.

I’m enjoying it so far, though it isn’t the most unique series and the world building could be better. So far, it’s a solid 7/10 from me.
