What I'm trying to figure out is everyone watching the same episodes in the same order as I am? Because I swear this anime been stuck on the Endless Eight ever since episode 12 and I just completed episode 14 the last episode in the season and they still stuck in the endless summer. WTF!!!

I understand why they stuck, but what I don't understand is how the hell it end like that? I mean a lot people have said this is one of their most favorite anime out of hundreds of animes and I'm see here watching this series like wtf was they seeing I wasn't.

This anime to me on average was okay, but it was kind of boring to me sometimes and really good sometimes. So I would not rate this anime very highly nor would I say by far its one of the better animes out of the 70+ anime I have watched. Hell, I would go on to say its actually more on the one of the worst, but I think a lot people would disagree me based on its rating. But that's my opinion...

Hmm... That was a bit of an anti-climactic last episode. Not much happened, wasn't particularly funny or emotional, then it sorta just ended with the SOS Brigade being exactly as they always have been. 6.5/10.

The show itself was a solid 8/10 though, always entertaining, quirky and different. Looking forward to getting around to the movie some time.

Chronological order's ending must have been dull compare to this one :P

Hmm I think how much someone enjoyed the anime depending on whether they watched it in broadcast order or chronological order can say a lot about the person's taste. For me, I really liked the chronological order's ending. Sure nothing crazy happened as with the "dream" episode, but if you watched it with kind of a slice of life point of view, it was the prefect ending (and probably even better if you watched this along with the second season, which I think I should've done).

I don't think this series is anything deserving of a 10 just by itself (haven't watched the movie yet), but I would still give it an 8 because I see this more of a slice of life than anything else. I mean yeah it's tagged under slice of life anyways, but then people who aren't satisfied with the last episode of the chronological order may not understand the beauty of slice of life genre? The best slice of life anime I've watched so far are always the ones that end really normal, with nothing too exciting happening...that's the point. I liked the calm atmosphere of Someday in the Rain, it tied off the the season really well. We get to see all the costumes and other items that showed up throughout the season, which probably means more to the people who've watched it in chronological order than the ones who watched it in broadcast order. If I hadn't watched it in chronological order, I would've probably been like, wtf why are we seeing shots of random items like laptops? The only thing I didn't understand really was the voices in the background when Yuki was reading. But I saw somewhere that it's supposed to a parody, so it's all good.

Anyways, I think the level of enjoyment of this series depending on what order you watched it in all depends on your personal preferences. I like a more coherent story progression and don't mind "anti-climatic" endings so watching it in chronological order was the right choice for me. ^^

So why people know they should fall inlove to each other? Or is that the only way to ease Haruhi's problems?

Anyway, I followed the "chronological order" crap in the end and I think I kinda regretted it. Well, I hope I'll enjoy the next episodes.

I don't know what the hell did I just watched, I don't know even if I watched the right season, I wished this anime was made by GAINAX at least I could've understand something form it , NGE is easy to understand compared with this.

Well it seems I mixed up both seasons T_T now I know how the 2nd season ends, but still this one is better than that even if is far from being a decent ending.

I much prefer the ending that was given in Part VI for some reason, as opposed to the one in Someday in the Rain. I really wish I'd have watched this series in the broadcast order rather than chronological order when I first watched it. Dammit. Oh well.. Great series anyway, liked all the characters, even if they lack much development. Will be on my 3rd re-watch soon!

not sure what episode everyone landed on last but one thing is certain. haruhi wants some of that premium kyon dick u feel me

i also really liked the op and ed. really catchy

It was a fun ride but the ending was very anticlimactic.
Conclusion:
Haruhi is an evil "god" who tortures the people around her with her "inhuman" ideas of entertainment.

Just finished watching this in broadcast order. It wasn't bad but not really good either.
Half of the episodes looked like fillers.

I will still watch the 2nd season and hopefully the movie will be as good as I heard.

14 episodes and people still aren't sure which order they are watching. Well okay, depending on the order it's not 14 episodes..

The continuous confusion about the order alone amuses me that much that i have to give it a +1 :P

They had some extraordinary good episodes, like Melancholy Part 1, with Haruhi's random bevaviour, or They Day of Sagittarius, where Yuki was way too cute, and her reaction to "not cheat"..and of course "Live Alive" with the perfomance. I liked the other episodes, too, but once they had settled in, it was more ordinary school life, even with Haruhi being eccentric.

If they had kept up the tension and surprises like that all the way through, it would certainly have been my new absolute favorite, maybe even giving it 10/10.

Now the question that remains is whether i will watch it in chronological order some day..

I watched it here (http://www.animefreak.tv/watch/melancholy-haruhi-suzumiya-episode-14-english-dubbed-online-free) under the impression I was watching it in broadcast order, where the last few episodes have all been the endless summer ones and are all quite similar.
Have I managed to somehow surpass myself in terms of my own idiocy?

Well, I actually just finished the chronological ending to the series(in retrospect, how it should have been, anyways), but I suppose I'll put this here.

Series was good. I think it should be watched chronologically, because it makes more sense and gives more insight, especially in the last 4(chrono, not broadcast) episodes.

Taking into consideration that this is only like #6 chrono, it doesn't make much sense contextually, and taking it as the broadcast order, #14, it's a pretty shit way to end the season. Series was good overall, though. Overhyped, for sure, but it was quite interesting.
Lemme smang it girl.

Damn, I was really, truly hoping Kyon knew about Mikuru's mole because dey fug. And after that kiss, my Kyon x Mikuru pairing has been crushed... *sniffles*

Kyon x Haruhi is cool too, though, so it's all good. That kiss might've been a real D'AWWWWWWW moment for me if I hadn't already had it spoiled for me on the episode 6 discussion thread for obvious reasons. Didn't even know it was between them two until I started watching this episode and put 2 and 2 together. Especially with that sleeping beauty thing. <_>

Overall, great finale, great series, and I'm glad I watched it in the Kyon (original broadcast) order. I liked all the characters a lot, the very nature of the series made it really unique for a slice of life, the voice cast was fantastic... overall, a lot to love.

Now to proceed to season 2 and have my entire opinion of the series demolished by the endless eight! YATTAAAAAA!

-Broadcast Order: "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya VI"-

Well, good finale of an arc that saved the day. If it wasn't for the main story, it would have been really boring, imho.
Fine show, a little bit of a disappointment. If this first season is like that, I don't know if I'll ever pick up the second one. I think I'll pass directly to the movie, which is so praised.

Well, watched it in chrono order because that's how the download was orientated. Watched all the Endless Eight, yes. I liked paying attention to the small changes in detail.

I must say, as I was watching the first 6 episodes I could easily tell which episodes were the broadcast finale of the first season. I felt like I was watching spoilers, and it made me wish I was watching in broadcast order because I could tell it had a well written build-up and climax.

However, overall, I guess I'm happy with watching it chronologically. I'm sure I would have been very confused in broadcast order. It seems like this is one that no matter which way you watch first, you wish you watched the other way. Pros and cons to both sides =p

Anyways, on to the movie!

(Season 1 = 8/10, Season 2 = 7/10)

EDIT: After watching the movie, I've been compelled to raise the scores of each season by 1. (S1 = 9/10, S2 = 8/10, Movie = 10/10)

I really have no idea how to feel about this..... I watched in chronological, so the ending is in Season 1? Gyah, Haruhi really doesn't want to let me watch these sensibly.

Regardless, 7/10 as a whole, but really didn't like this episode for the 3-4 minutes of unintelligible voices, and the fact that it just wasn't what I'd come to love about Haruhi.

Next step is to watch it all again! In broadcast order! ..... Much, much, later... (Seriously, it was good, but I'll need a few months before I consider rewatching)

-Chronological last episode- Someday in the Rain

Aw that walk in the rain between the two of them was cute. But I have one question, why was there so many scenes of Nagato reading the book from that particular camera angle? Was there suppose to be a meaning behind it?

"Ponytails turn me on"
Thank god they finally kissed, allthough Haruhi might still see it as just something that happened during her dream.

Absolutely loved the first season and I have to say that I'm very glad I stuck with the broadcast order.

Endless 8 Part III

The show ended with a cliffhanger, LOL. SOS Brigade cant still get out of the infinite loop and the Season one ended, LOL. I guess broadcast order will be ideal way to finish Season one but I like more the chronological order because the story makes much more sense this way.

Well, this episode is just a repetition of last 2 episode with minor changes. Nothing much really happened. I guess Ill wait for Season II after few months. i know there is already Season II in this era but my style of watching anime is different. Season I is on 2006 and Season II is 2009. That makes 3 years worth of waiting. My few months waiting is equivalent to 3 years so I guess I need to wait patiently.

Episode: 3.2/5

Overall: 10/10 because of the amazing Sci-Fi plot.

I am so excited for the next season.

i honestly felt like they ran out of ideas, im talking about the 3-5 minute scene of yuki sitting down reading.

it ended a little disappointingly but cute. i think abrupt is a better word. cant believe i have already watched the whole season on the first day of discovery.

Reviewed from chronological order so the final episode was the third episode of the Endless Eight.

Was quite a fun 13 episodes. The 14th one was just episode 13 though with barely any changes which was what I expected. Still it's a 7/10 for me. Not too bad.

The viewing orders of this series are confusing af (people are commenting about ep14 in the ep6 forum without knowing it)... didn't realise my copy already arranged s1,2 in chronological order O_o

That said, the plot just stepped up another level with this episode - what a riveting ride. Would have preferred this more moderate balance of narration in Monogatari.

I must say I really enjoyed this series, but at first I really struggled with the episode listing but now I'm good thanks to MAL providing the link to wiki. It was not hard to unscramble them, but all I know 'endless eight is not the last episode of this season' and 'someday in the rain' is the last ep.
If you watch endless eight as the last your rating will fault, so please check because this series is worth it.

It was fun to watch Haruhi and her antics that caused panic to the end of the world, I liked how the fate of the world depended on her feelings.
Damn that was a unique anime and crazy fun to watch, but this episode was heartwarming and made me look forward to season 2.

7/10 is my gift to it but I think it will be more when I watch s2.

I loved the last episode (broadcast order) and I am really glad I watched in that order, it was a perfect ending (and I don't think that the rain episode would be a good ending at all).

How Snow White and Sleeping Beauty fitted perfectly at the end, their kiss, actually two of them having intimate romantic moments, the hand holding at school, I loved everything about this episode.

Struggling between 8 and 9, I really want to give it a 9, but there were some weaker episodes (the band one, and the rain one), but this ending was so nice that I want to reward it.

Anyhow, great anime, loved that I discovered it, and I am very happy that I made the right decision of watching in broadcast order.
