Uchuu Kyoudai is the bes SoL IMO. NHK was funny at first but it became too depressing.

I'm sorry, when the fuck did NHK become a paragon of Slice of Life? It has some elements but who actually looks at NHK and goes "Dude, it's such a good Slice of Life show. Even better than Lucky Star."

I can't tell if you're being serious or not.... but all right. Different strokes.

NHK, however, I wouldn't really put it simply in SoL, that I'd agree with.

It actually goes somewhere, there's drama, a good amount of character developments, and there's... (more or less) a conclusion.

I'm biased, because NHK is one of my favorites, but it simply can't be compared to most Slice of Life's. Lucky Star, DEFINITELY NOT.
It was solid all around really, and it didn't get tiring if you were actually interested in Satou's fate.

And back on topic.... I can't quite say so myself.
As a reader of the manga from the start, I liked it, but I can't say I'd put it
as being a "good anime." It's somewhat entertaining, and that's what matters,
but it's no engaging. And I guess that's what I've looked for personally.

With that said, things can change, but the format seems set already, at episode 4.
Episode 1 of NHK, Satou already tried getting his life moving again, of course, he was set back again, but this is all part of the ebb and flow of the depression and such.

Like I said, it can change, but that's not likely.

THOUGH, I can still say I am enjoying the anime quite a good amount.

-Chuunibyou is a term that existed before that anime (which comes from a novel if I'm not mistaken). I haven't seen the anime myself I admit, but I googled the term: a teenager with full of delusions about how the world works, tries to imitate what he/she perceives as an adult thing to do, sometimes even goes as far as thinking he/she has superpowers (I had such period myself). In short, they think they're special and better than the others. Well, how Tomoko sees other girls as "bitches and whores" - even about her supposed-to-be friend Yuu - and in almost every chapter she has a new (and often wrong and embarrassing) idea about how people would start talking to her, let's just say, she has such traits.

Oh, why they create term that there is already here, lol.
If 'long title' will be 'I'm boss' and such. It will be different but still comparable ;)

Agreed ^

As good as this series is, NHK is better. It has a serious side and comedic side and this new series only focus on dumb down shit and obvious parody etc.

Can't really compare the two. I like them both for different reasons.

Here is where the word "chuunibyou" (中二病) came from:

The term 中二病 was first used on January 11th, 1999 on a radio show hosted by
Hikaru Ijūin (伊集院 光). Usage of the word became common after that.

This article in Japanese seems to be the most comprehensive one I found:
http://ja.uncyclomedia.org/wiki/%E4%B8%AD%E4%BA%8C%E7%97%85
and the Japanese Wikipedia article is good as well:
http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E4%B8%AD%E4%BA%8C%E7%97%85

Sorry, but I am not aware of any good information source written in English.
However, there are links in both of those articles which take you to other
webpages written in Chinese and Korean. The word can also be spelled as
"chūnibyō". When Googling, you may wish to also search for "chunibyo".

Slice of Life? NOH. That would be something like AnoHana, Clannad, or NANA. This is certainly probably the funniest relateable show though for the masses. XD

NHK freaked me out.

It hit way too close to home. WAY too close.

And you can say what you want about it, but you got to give NHK this:

The character development is superb.

NHK and Watamote are different.
NHC of fallen people, who have long been graduate from school, whose moral and psychological problems are much more deeply entrenched in their heads. And to compare, in general, serious work and comedy about suspiciousness schoolgirl-scarecrow is a great folly. Especially call NHK slice-of-Life.

Welcome to the NHK was pretty funny, but I have to disagree with you on that. There's bound to be better SOL anime. (besides NHK isn't a Slice Of Life, it's a psychological seinen anime that displays the problems of Japanese society. I'm pretty sure not everyone can relate to some of the things he experienced :P) It just depends on the person's overall idea of what they like/what is funny. And in that case I kind of like Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei if you are into Dark Humor.

Nhk is my favorite anime period. However!!!!! I feel these shows are quite different.

Watamote is like a comedy skit that makes fun of the moe slice of life genre

NHK is a dark show based on the dark parts of the writers life, the comedy was added in to help keep the show from getting too dark to handle.

Watamote is about the comedy first and foremost. NHK is about the growth and the writers view of the world in the way, the humor is just an after thought (well done after thought mind you).

Pretty much this. Iv seen both shows and enjoyed both, but each has a different tone.

I'm in the old school league, so "Lucky Star", "Genshiken" and "Azumanga Daioh" are (in my opinion) the best slice of life series ever made. Best modern slice of life is "Nichijou".

I gave NHK and this one the same score (9/10). I think they're equally good. These are more like thrillers than slice of life shows. They give you huge impacts and reminds you of how horrible the world really is for unsociable people.

It can't be the best slice of life anime since NHK because NHK is not a slice of life.

And Azumanga Daioh >> everything.

Why do people have such bad taste? Anime isn't subjective anymore.
