So buy a DVD, or hook up your computer to the TV. Not difficult.

Don't really watch TV any more, but I always thought of Toonami as just having more action packed shows. In fact, here in New Zealand, I specifically remember Toonami being introduced for the CG cartoon The Intruder. It had nothing to do with anime until a few more years down the line.

Wow, who cares about Toonami? You have the internet dude, you can watch literally any anime you want for free.

Sure there is that, but if you want to support the anime and witness the dub, Toonami is one of the best options for that.

That kind of thinking comes across as spoilt anime fan syndrome.

I wish they were more anime-oriented (and not just action anime too) but what can you do..like somone already mentioned, they probably go by popular demand or no licensing. I also get the feeling they want to incorporate american cartoons and not have all anime but that may just be me.

the problem is how much of an audience is there for those shows.
Just because you know how to use a torrent does not give you the god given right to pirate.

Toonami used to show stuff like Thundercats, Johnny Quest, and even Superfriends back when it first launched in 1997.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rt5bxfLOA94

Toonami has never been all about anime, it's always been a block based around action animation.

Well not any. Some of the older shows not only aren't translated in any way but often not available at all

If it's on Toonami, there are subs and dubs. If there isn't subs and dubs, it's not on Toonami. Anyways, I agree here:

I think this Toonami pales in comparison to the one back in the day.

Back in the day, when Toonami came on, the whole block changed to toonami. These days it's just Adult swim w/ animu in the middle.

This shiz is so late at night too, how is a kid suppose to make any meaningful memories on it when they are already drowsy and going to sleep by the time Toonami comes on

anyways, i would love to see ZatchBell come back. it never finished Dubbing D:

Hopefully this could pave the way for Kill La Kill on Toonami in the future.

Also, I don't know how the hell Knights of Sidonia got dubbed so fast but I now also want that on Toonami.

Netflex has exclusive rights to that, I think that kind of nips that possibility in the bud.

Ill say something that wont happen, Id kill to see tiger and bunny on there.

kill la kill would make perfect sense to be on toonami as well as hunter x hunter 2011. whenever the english dub is made for it that is.

since black lagoon wrapped up, i'm solely focusing on the rest of space dandy and hellsing ultimate now. first episode for hu wasn't bad.

Atleast toonami is doing something right.
Bring the currently hyped seasonal shows and you will get views, simple.
Amazing that they couldn't do that years ago.

That's great news. With this and Michiko and Hatchin, it seems Toonami is getting back on track. Shame about Akame ga Kill though...
Either way, it's weird that this hasn't been reported as news here yet. All other Toonami announcements were. I submitted a story hours ago but obviously it hasn't gone through. Meh.

A part of me doesn't want Sentai to screw up the English dub because the Toonami execs might not be too pleased about that which could lead to trust issues between the two meaning no more Sentai shows on Toonami.

But at the same time, wouldn't it be hilarious if they fucked up the English dub really badly and basically destroyed any chance of Akame ga Kill becoming popular in the process? I mean, I've heard English dubs made in Singapore that would be more suitable for US TV than most of the stuff they put out.

1.8 million is huge for an anime. That's awesome.

Come to Australia. You can watch K-ON every Friday at 9pm and you don't even have to deal with shit like Akame ga Kill in between because Hanabee have the show and they've all but stopped caring about anime at this point. It's the best!

Updated the OP to include the currently airing anime.
Also DBZ Kai is on right now.

Anyway's, Akame Ga Kill's first episode seemed all right and the dub was fine, but that one big boobed girl part of Night Raid has a really annoying English voice.

EDIT: Also, the ratings for last week's airing was AMAZING.

DBZ Kai - 2.02 Million
Akame Ga Kill - 1.82 Million
Michiko & Hatchin - 1.46 Million
Sword Art Online II - 1.19 Million
Naruto Shipudden- 1.05 Million

2 Million is unheard of for a late night television anime in the US.

What kind of justice is this? This isn't right at all. Bleach got to air until completion. Naruto Shippudden is still airing. How is this right?
