This was just something that came into my mind from nowhere. Are there any male tsunderes in anime today? Let us use an example for this. The main character from Zero no Tsukaima, Louise. She is in my opinion the definition of a tsundere (as far as I have grasped the term). Instead of using words and kindness when dealing with relationship problems, she uses her fists (actually magic), and quite brutally so.

If there's any confusion in this description, then I'm sorry. I'm no expert on the matter, but I thought this thought of mine could lead to some interesting discussions regarding tsunderes and their genders.

Q: Would you like to see more male tsunderes? Also, would it be acceptable to show a male beating up a female on tv?

Not that I'd know, but I'm told InuYasha is something of a male tsundere.
And I mean that in the most sexually painful way possible.

I still think Kyon is something of a tsundere.

But what I'd really like to see is a loli-male tsundere... it would probably be terrible, but still

Lelouch (code geass)
Accelerator (raildex)
Norio (Narutaru)
Matt (digimon adventures)
Takuto Kira (full moon wo sagashite)
and a bunch of more obscure ones

Reinhardt from LOGH also counts imo

Well, the ending of episode 7...... I'd say that puts him more towards the yandere area than tsundere. Unless of course, something happened in episode 8.

Do anyone have an example of a violent male tsundere though? Vegeta was indeed a tsundere for example, but he was never violent against
or was he?

I guess Ross from Senyuu was a tsundere in episode 1 when he bought a knife just to stab Alba with it.
"I-It's not l-like I bought it for you, baka!"
But all jokes aside, there are actually alot of what I would consider to be "tsundere" type male characters. I think it's just difficult to pinpoint them because the girl tsunderes usually yell alot and beat up the guy that they like. Really, a tsundere is just a character who acts hostile, but really cares about others, right? (Unless I have the definition wrong). So, really there are alot of characters like that, just most of them are not the ones who set the guy they like on fire or whip him or whatever. That's all I got.

you don't need to be violent against the opposite sex to be deemed a violent Tsundere though, that's just sexist :U

Vegeta was just a cute lil violent tsundere in general.

Inuyasha is the very definition of a Male Tsundere, and he pulls it off very well. Gives a similar vibe to the female counterpart, but retains his manliness.

Yes? But he was never violent towards his girl, or was he? Then, how can he be a violent tsundere if he never beat her up similiar to how Louse from my original example would beat up her bf?

you can be a violent tsundere as long as you beat up people who you have soft feelings for, not just lovey-dovey feels.

Vegeta beats on Trunks and Goku .3.

I thought tsunderes were restricted to couple relationships only. If that's not the case, my bad.

The violence itself doesn't even have anything to do with being a tsundere or not. In romcoms it's a trope used for comedic purposes and all character types can use it. As for Vegeta being tsundere or not, it would be related to his generally cold attidute towards his family, but he is shown to cherish it much when pushed to the edge.

Kyon gets my vote too, definitely. I would not mind seeing a few more tsundere's that are male to be honest. Vegeta may also qualify here too but it depends on ones definition of tsundere obviously.

Male tsunderes exist, they're usually not as violent as your female counterparts though. In a lot of Bl-anime the tsundere trope is used(Junjou romantica for example).

But you can also find male tsunderes in a lot of shoujo anime, like 'Itazura na kiss'. The main love interest doesn't hit the main character, but he does:
