Honestly, I think it's more that a lot of adults can't write children "correctly."
Or maybe it's because Iwai is actually 14.

Anyway... Well Sh*t! That went to hell in a handbasket quickly...

Now that was the Haimura I wanted to see. Always hearing about his title of "most brutal" was fun and all but actually seeing it is a whole different story. I feel bad for the loli, though.

Lol at the loli picture in the beginning. Another point for Professor Lolicon!

Emily is amazing.
She made a party in order to inform Papa and also have an advance celebration.
She has 46 knives. They can either do instant death or slow death.

Grayland might not be real? I agreed with this. I knew no one could kill 200 people with a pair of scissors.
But then, Kiri had a dream and that changed everything.

Kiri became a scissors-holding-mouthed beast who kills for pleasure.
And his ability makes tiny cuts become exaggerated by making the cuts feel like your arm has fallen off.

If we go cliche, Iwai will calm Kiri down. Or Kiri could kill her.
Or she could kill Kiri. Or she could kill herself and wish for Kiri to be normal again. Or she could stop the cycle.
I’m always searching for something, for someone. This feeling has possessed me I think, from that day… That day when the stars came falling.

Nice episode. I always love when the main character goes berserk, it just shows how powerful their really are (or can become ;D)
Geez, from reading these comments, my inner sadist must of been out too D:
I didn't feel bad for Emily (I kinda hoped she didn't die but nothing else) the way she was acting and taunting Kiri she was kind of asking for it...

I don't really know what 8-10 years old y'all met, but the ones I know (and my mom who works with kids told me) act really grown. Culture has nothing to do with it. The types of things kids know are what they see or hear from adults, and Emily works around a lot of those so I don't find it surprising that she would know the word (especially if it's the queen that taught it to her as an isult)

You guys must either be new to the anime world and dont know the really good stuff or you just have bad taste.

I hope no one feels offended by this!

Don't insult people and expect no one to be offended.
To others you must have bad taste. Everyone has different tastes, it stupid to insult others for having tastes that differ from yours.

I love how weird this show is. For some reason I thought Kiri stomping on the grave in front of Emily was particularly disturbing just because of how heartless such an act would be. I can't wait to see this uncensored on DVD (if it really is uncensored on DVD). They seem to heavily obscure most of the violence.

I thought this anime was slowly getting duller, but the latest ep was amazing. It's finally picking up - seeing Kiri go nuts and his ability coming to light was great. I've personally always loved the torture porn genre of horror movies and seeing torture implemented here was frankly wonderful. Especially torture that barely harmed Emily at all, meaning it can last almost indefinitely; the possibilities with that sort of power are through the roof.

The sorcery man... this is such a silly show and the drama is so forceful...
This has been going downhill at the speed of mach 3 or shit. ヽ(゚Д゚)ノ
Hopefully we'll get this epic finale (to boost sales) as long as it's not an open ending.

I'm pretty sure the post I was quoting was referring to Emily, who's... er, just old enough to look like a bobblehead.

My point still stands even if it's unrelated, though.

On a related note:

The amount to which Kiri was spoiling for a fight with no preparation and fully aware of what Emily was capable of seems really... not well-written. He's not exactly a genius strategist, to be sure, but this is foolish on a whole new level that I feel we haven't seen.

A few episodes ago I was thinking "I can't wait for this to be over, yawn" but if they keep up episodes like this I sure as hell would love a season 2 as well!

Although it was a fairly predictable turn of events it was still bad ass and definitely brought back the horror aspect I was hoping to see more of in this series.

After watching tons of anime, I see how this show is predictable and cliché and is definitely not a masterpiece, but it's still ENJOYABLE. How? Idk. It's just entertaining to see the story unfolding, the comedy, the warm lovey-dovey relationship developing, with the dark mystery behind the cliché, accompanied by the beautiful graphics and music... Although after the last episode of the anime show, I will most likely switch to manga as the story finally becomes darker. And I'm a sucker for the darkness with a pretty face, deal with it.

And due to that, I absolutely loved this episode, like, it was all so obvious with the cut scenes and all, but... I feel no empathy towards Emily, and just seeing Kiri become badass and scary while beating the sh!t out of her just makes me go 'yes'. Finally she needs to taste death herself.

Seeing her go from an emotionless killer to a blubbering mess of a little girl was so effective and disturbing. This show has some really fucked up moments that aren't just gory or overly violent. Conceptually fucked up. Like Kiri stomping on the grave or Emily just crying hysterically in fear at the end.

The fearless Emily had the upper hand at first, but when Norma Grayland's blood took over... the tide turned quickly. Crime Edge had the power to... greatly amplify the pain it inflicts. Now that's a debilitating and evil ability.

You reap what you sow. Feel the true evil behind that legendary tool, and fear it. About time that arrogant assassin loli had a taste of her own medicine. He literally carved the true meaning of fear into her. However, Kiri is stuck in a dangerous berserker mode during his dream... and it falls to Iwai to try and stop his rampage.

Yes it was all about inflicting pain and fear it seems(although i don't get that since his victims seemed unconscious) so when he cuts you the pain and fear is multiplied.

Also, I'm exactly sure what's the point of cutting a corpse. If the victim is not alive/conscious and Grayland doesn't see the pain and suffering of the victim, there is no point in his act.
I interpreted it as not a vision of an actual past event but a dream vision forced on him by a not to rational spirit, and the content of it was a mix of what the spirit wanted and what Kiri was willing to accept (ie, the spirit wanted to bring out the blood lust in Kiri but Kiri doesn't really want to kill anybody). So, nothing in it had to make sense except for forcing Kiri to "cross the line".

But that's my problem too. I'm not sure how cutting up corpse-like bodies can bring up bloodlust. I mean you can dissect corpses all day and it's not gonna have much of an effect...

Maybe they where alive and they could feel pain too but just paralyzed(maybe a muscle relaxant or something). Notice how we never saw their face. Imagine feeling everything but simply not be able to command your muscles to move even as a reaction to the pain. the reason we jump up and down when we get hurt or make certain moves is because by moving like that it helps us psychologically and probably physically too to go threw the pain. Imagine not being able to do even that, not even be able to make a fist threw your pain. Ultimate torture.

That seems to be the case, and if he gets the same enjoyment out of hurting others as the original did, that makes the whole situation that much deadlier. That being said Kiri lost it ,and finally met the original along with the awakening of his true ability now to see how he deals with the issues the other authors having been dealing with all along.

I don't think so. I think it's fear that Kiri inflicted with his Crime Edge. Something like, her fear caused her to hallucinate her arm getting cut off.

Man, what a bummer, I considered bumping up the score to 4/10 after watching the previous episode, but this episode dumb down the score back to 2/10, because of all these bullshits.

Edit: And of course, Kiri can move that swift after he broke his bones, ^^

It's a loli and she's dancing.. Then quick take a pic of her.. Well, nevermind
It's a common sense to do that xD

Ah OP Kiri is too OP, well + Grayland help
But it's too cruel... Making a loli cried, it's just too cruel :(

Nooo, next ep is the last?

This episode was CRAZY!

I didn't anticipate the twist and then second twist. That part where Grayland was carving up those bodies was gruesome though I don't know what Kiri meant when he said he didn't know about "this". Like c'mon the history's worst? You don't expect him to dissect people like that? Kiri looked good in Grayland's outfit.

Kiri accomplished his mission, made Emily scared of death(a bit of an understatement). We'll see if this'll be able to help Emily and Iwai reconcile.

How is this anime rated so low? Everything so far to me has been great or decent, nothing bad. Unless this anime has a really terrible ending, the rating is unjustified.

Emily clearly overestimated the durability of human flesh and forgot the existence of whetstones.

The ability of Crime Edge is to enhance pain and that cut made her feel like as if her arm was severed.

She learned what pain and fear is the hard way, but it was a lesson she had to learn.

Next episode, Iwai has to bring Kiri back to his senses.

Why doesn't Kiri kill her? Emily can barely move now and he has no trouble keeping track of her, but he just disappeared and seemingly spares her offscreen so she can talk with Iwai? I don't think raving serial killer beasts spend a lot of time ruminating or deliberating on whether they actually want to kill, they just do it.

The realism talk about scissors being dulled from cutting through flesh and fat is pretty funny considering the sonic throwing knives and superhuman lolis. This isn't some gritty detective mystery.
