| I thought it was great with potential at first, until the ending and the development of the main plot and the main pairing... A forcefully dignified heroine protagonist rebelling for her truth with bodybuilding as strength/passion against a mother who demands that she acts ladylike to secure an established man of status was interesting. Her supernatural ability of strength and speed, along with the friends she made who each had their quality in the story as an arc of growth where they each accept themselves against others was nice. One fat and proud, the other improving her cooking. Unfortunately most of those developments were rushed and short. The execution wasn't great and the characters were lackluster with the underdeveloped plots. The moment of climax where she finally confronts her mother properly was dull and underwhelming. It was awkward and disappointing from how weak and easily it was finished. The whole family being extremely strong was cool. The scenes of supernatural ability was fun, but overall most of the plots were mediocre from their flaws. The mother barely had a backstory or interesting path to her strictness and changing. As short as the manga was, each supporting characters, including her family were barely used enough. Worse was the male co-main character. He's too effeminate which is boring. I'm personally not a fan of his, but he could have at least been better rounded and developed from his personality. It had great elements and ideas but failed to succeed in being effective with them, while being too short. 5/10. |
