I'm for the theory that explains evil rape gennai as a long-term product of that dark sphere being inserted into Gennai's back. At the same time, Gennai, while seemingly evil, has just chosen a side in the Tri conflicts. For each character in Tri, you can chose to side with Yggdrasil, or Homeostasis. This is an official chart as far as i know:  So Gennai just picked a side and is fighting for that side. Whether it is because of the black sphere, we don't know (but i personally believe it is because of that) |

And the mystery continues... My take is that Gennai body can be swapped when needed. After all, in ADV02 he was young again and also copied himself when needed. Maybe those guys killed by Piedmon in the flashback were Gennai copies. I can only think we can guess a lot from the way the face is drawn, color of the eyes, etc Here, young and good Gennai  And here, evil Gennai:  Maybe the 02 version got infected by someone, maybe that "someone" just triggered a reaction from his inner dark sphere. |
