Interest StacksLooking to expand your horizons? This list will introduce you to a few anime with unconventional art styles that will surely take you on an unexpected journey. ┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈ Every animated media that has been made, in some way has the idea to tell a story, and to express a feeling onto the watcher. But then, there are some series which has a particular way to evocate it's emotions, and they use different tools to do that. Thought provoking writing, displaying the characters' internal monologues, their struggles and fears, using very particular cinematographic angles, and using contrasting styles of animation, colouring and highly symbolical and metaphorical imagery - these are some of the few hallmarks that the said animation is having psychological themes, and that it is avant-garde in it's approach. Welcome to the MCU. Anime with yōkai—spirits from the Shinto religion and/or Japanese folklore. Popular types include kitsune (fox spirits), shape-shifting tanuki (raccoon dogs), kappa (river monsters), and oni (ogre-like demons). Anime that have a female main character that is strong. This can include: strong willed, an intellectual, physically strong, magically adept or a mix of those traits. Most of the time they are portrayed as mature and respectful. xxxHOLiC Watch Order: Note that some don't necessarily feat the whole description a "Hime Cut" is supposed to be, but they more or less have that aura on them that makes them a suitable match for the "Hime Cut" |
