Both surround themselves around a special human who deserves and needs love and support. Both are in fantasy worlds where supernatural creatures abound. Both are super sweet and heartwarming. And both are based on relationships that are pure of heart.

The setting in both series is similar: a male protagonist finds a little child and starts to take care of her. Both are very heartwarming and follow the adventures of the "dad and child". In both their bond looks strong and in "Uchi no Ko no Tame naraba, Ore wa Moshikashitara Maou mo Taoseru kamo Shirenai" it´s very nice to watch their bond to get deeper and see the loving environment around them.

A very similar comparison when it comes to the fatherly figure thing that goes on, both are very heart-warming.

Wonderful and enigmatic animation. Mystic world with various creatures, a wondering child, adventures, great voice acting and soundtrack. At first it seems relaxing, yet later it chatches you with action and great story.

Somali and Myne are cute, young protagonists that came from tragic backgrounds and try to live their lives to the fullest despite their setbacks and pending tragedy. Somali is one of the few humans remaining in a world overun by humanoid monsters that have hunted and persecuted humans to the brink of extinction. Myne is a dedicated bookworm that was transported to a world without books after she was killed in her real world. Heartwarming story about a father figure and a child, which is (not) a human, thus he/she needs to hide his/her identity.

If you love stories about family, and raising a child, then you will adore this film. Both Somali and the Forest Spirit and Wolf Children deal with a single parent having to care for children, and must safely guide them to where they can live freely and safely. Both have beautiful background imagery and original score.

Both works revolve around unusual but meaningful father-daughter relationships. Also, even though there're plenty of funny and heart-warming moments that you, the two stories have a somewhat bittersweet flavour to them.

Both are about 2 people going together on a journey. Both have great and very interesting characters and the story in both is very entertaining. Both seem lighthearted but have some dark parts in them. Both are amazing to watch.

Adorable little abandoned girl and big scary monster headed caretaker who isn't quite sure how to handle the responsibility. Much adorableness and slightly sinister characters all around.

In both Hinamatsuri and Somali to Mori no Kamisama there is a young female character who finds an older male protagonist character and they start to live along. In Hinamatsuri their relationship starts to build slowly and is a bit grumpy at the start. Otherwise in Somali to Mori no Kamisama their relationship starts kindly and seems to be strong even tho the main protagonist has struggles with understanding feelings.

Kinos journey is more about a young girl and her motorcycle buddy traveling from city to city in order to understand the world more clear. Somali is about a young girl traveling with a golem who she calls her father. The golem travels from places to places in order to find humans and return the girl back to her parents. Throughout both series, they both carry relaxing vibe, beautiful scenery, heartwarming and heartwrenching themes. They meet many different people in their journeys and make great connections, then move on to the next city leaving a bittersweet ending each time. If you like one, you'll like  read more

Both anime have an older character lacking human emotions growing closer to a child and acquiring emotions. Cute children present Conflict of demon/bestial vs human nature Humans portrayed in a grey tone - both bad and good present Will make you cry at least twice

-Both animes are about traveling and going on a new journey, city to city. Somali is about a kid going on a journey with her father golem to search for her real parents while Tabitabi is about a young witch who desired to travel ever since she was a kid to explore the new worlds. -Every episode seems to be episodic where they never stay in one place, but rather travels and meet new cities and people -Both are light-hearted, relaxing animes to watch. If you love one, you'll definitely love the other -Both meet meaningful connections with characters and are off again to find their next  read more

Both are a fantasy anime with beautiful scenery. Both also have a slow pace kind of feeling to them, even thou mushishi is slower in comparison. Both contain traveling from place to place in the world of the story, thou mushishi has episode based stories while Somali is a continuous story. Both are heart lifting at the same time as they are kind of dark.

A distant journey. Natsunagu! and Somali and the Forest Spirit both follow protagonists on a distant journey with the end goal of meeting a distant relative. Along with this venture, our protagonists meet a few quirky, helpful individuals, who aid them on their grand travel. In Natsunagu! the end target is an old online friend. In Forest Spirit, it is Golem travelling with Somali to reach Somali's parents. Both are great anime about the long travels people take to reach a loved one.

Beastars and Somali to Mori no Kamisama Both Have -Themes similar to racial discrimination -Worlds with darker elements -Protagonists who want to change and help others

I suppose, although there is a kinda disjointed relationship in both, and to compare them together as one of the same is even more absurd, one has to admit the fact that the two play a teaching game by having the adult of the two give good guidance for the younger in hopes that they grow to be a better person in the future. Would be more inclined to push forward Somali Forest Spirit to all rather than Higehiro, but it is there if you want to watch it.

If you like the part of Demon Slayer where Tanjiro is trying to save Nezuko, then you might like Somali and the Forest Spirit. Thought this anime has barely any fights it is instead replaced with awesome adventures to different cities with great sceneries and with great characters too

Both shows have a very chill pace, as well as a very relaxing overall atmosphere Both shows have really good visuals that exudes calmness Both have interesting character designs Both shows are largely episodic, where most events are one-off with the plot starting and ending in the same episodes. Both shows are rather romantic in terms of its story-telling. (Note: not romance, they both do not have romance)

1: Unconventional Companionships: Both anime explore the beauty of friendships that transcend conventional boundaries. In "Somali and the Forest Spirit," the gentle relationship between a golem guardian and a human child blossoms, while "Hotarubi no Mori e" weaves a tender connection between a girl and a forest spirit. The way these relationships develop and the emotions they evoke are central to both stories. 2: Emotional Journeys: "Somali and the Forest Spirit" and "Hotarubi no Mori e" take viewers on emotional journeys that resonate on a profound level. While "Somali" emphasizes the father-daughter dynamic between the golem and Somali, "Hotarubi" explores the bittersweet love between the girl and the  read more

Both shows are heartwarming stories. Maybe they have different plots and backgrounds but, every episode made me cry because of the beautiful stories and beautiful relationships of friendship and family. Also! I love the visuals and bgm, it's really relaxing.

Both have the chill and relax vibe Both have very pretty and therapeutic visuals Both are about a journey and exploration; Sora Yori explores the real world as tourists, while Somali explores its own version of Wonderland Both have a tad of a dark reason that kickstarts their adventure, yet not have the story surrounds itself on said dark reason

This recommendation is one-sided since "Accelerator" is part of a massive franchise (which means you need to watch the series before it to understand this one) unless you have already seen/know the "Toaru" franchise. In simple terms, if you enjoyed the premise in accelerator wherein a powerful being is babysitting a literal child, then you might want to check "SomaliMori." Apart from that, I think the two are similar (aside from the premise) in retrospect of their character dynamics while being different in everything else (especially in the concepts used). With that said, I find "Accelerator" being fairly similar to "Golem" in terms of their attributes, while  read more

This show definitely gives me a Miyazaki vibe with the world/scenery and unique creatures that inhabit it.

Somali and forest spirit is more advanced and better written version of good part of mushoku tensei without its bad part (aka author's obsession with sex). If u are look for more unique worldbuilding and similar adventure and slice of life themes with better and more resonating character and deep real redemption themes, I suggest somali and forest spirit. If u are looking for a more self insertable version with sex addicts finding justice and a more generic/basic, but well/similarly executed worldbuilding and much higher production quality, then u conversely go with mushoku tensei

If the worldbuilding of either show really drew you in, fans of Somali or Hakumei & Mikochi can find something to love in the other series. Hakumei & Mikochi is more slow-paced and feel-good, while Somali and the Forest Spirit can have some intense moments that border on action or even horror, but both shows have foudn families living in a fantastical world. With Hakumei & Mikochi, it's the story of two friends and with Somali and the Forest Spirit, it's the story of a father and daughter.

the rich world, the deep characters, the themes of nature, humans coexistence with other species, child with a father-like figure, those too are great anime that resemble each other in many aspects. you should watch both!

Both series: - are set in a fantasy world, where one character (who is a child) needs to be protected by an older guardian. - have a distinctive lack of black and white narrative creates very thought provoking but touching scenes. - Seirei ni Moribito is fuller on action, while Somali to Mori (abr.) has calmer more adventure-like atmosphere.

Time is of the essence. Forever doesn’t really means forever and everything is bound to end. Even though forever may just mean a lifetime, relationships and the experiences are carried by people moving forward as long as they live. Even though we are not permanent beings on this Earth, we should live and enjoy every second of our lives with the people we love and knowing new people and learning their stories. Life is a journey that is worthwhile. There’s a start, lots of twists and turns, and finally an ending. This may sound too sentimental lol but please do watch Plastic Memories after watching Somali  read more

Both series are set in a fantasy world where humans are almost extinct because monsters use them as their food. We follow our main character(s) as they try avoid being eaten by monsters.

An inhuman fatherly being takes care of a young girl and attempts to reunite her with other humans.
report Recommended by insomniac3011
While the deuteragonists of Somali and the Forest Spirit share more of a parent and child relationship, compared to the romantic relationship of the characters in Sacrificial Princes, the shows share the fact that a young girl is being protected by a "monster" in a land full of beasts who despise humans, and would just as soon kill them on site. Both shows reveal a past where humans and beasts had a falling out and the beasts became the dominant species.

Fumetsu no Anata e and Somali to Mori no Kamisama have a lot in common, to mention the most important, an emotional story about a long journey. They're both stylish, and utilize visuals and sound in ways that leave a lasting impression. Both will make you cry.

Similar comfy-yet-melancholy story of two characters, one young and mortal, the other ancient and long-lived, and their journey through a sprawling fantasy land, each learning to appreciate the perspective of the other and growing closer in the process, despite their different views on life and its meaning.
