If you love stories about family, and raising a child, then you will adore this film. Both Somali and the Forest Spirit and Wolf Children deal with a single parent having to care for children, and must safely guide them to where they can live freely and safely. Both have beautiful background imagery and original score.

The outlier in the family. Wolf Children and Somali and the Forest Spirit both follow guardians/parents taking care of the oddity in the world they situate in.
Forest Spirit being about Golem caring for one of the outlied race of humans, Somali. Wolf Children is about Hana raising the literal wolf children Ame and Yuki. Both are also single parents/guardians.
Both are great fantasy-drama anime about the parental guidance one can give to the stranger beings that lurk within society.

The two revolve around the concepts of family relationships, parenting, and fantasy as a cherry on top with a premise of both the parent and the child learning valuable lessons as they encounter memorable experiences with one another.
As for my opinion, the two are one of the shows that hit too close to home. What I mean by that is both are relatable, and I enjoyed every part of it. Hence, I recommend both to anyone who also appreciates these kinds of stuff.
