It may seem ironic to most people how an anime now almost 20 years old is considered to be even better than newly made hentai.. but with a decent storyline, good fitting music and humorous characters; it truly deserves a decent score thus making it a worthy opponent to other H-movies.

The sex?

A job nice done, just as the title says; "Kamasutra" - various ways of having sex with your femine partner that is commonly seen in famous art paintings even today with heritage from god knows how long.

Storyline isn't too bad, nor too good - but who watches hentai for a good story? I don't, but this movie did was entertaining storywise even so.

This movie displays a number of commonly used sex positions, aswell as a uncommon ones while having quite good sounding music that suits well with the experimental-ways-of-sex (you'll get what I mean once you hear it)

Those crazy Japs did again. They created a small movie that is neither porn or comedy… or interesting for these exact reasons.

ART & SOUND SECTION: 6/10 [What a big turban you have!]
The characters look pretty vague and body figures are not very detailed. Voice acting is relaxed.
Several backgrounds and music themes have an India feeling to them, giving some sensation to the setting of the story.
Mothion fluidity is also very good, as there are some really energetic action scenes that are brimming with movement. A bit choppy but lively nontheless.
On a side note, one of the villains is a tribute to a character from Go Nagai’s old Shameless School manga. I’m talking about the funny guy with the beard and the animal skin. Quite a figure!

STORY SECTION: 4/10 [Love and stupidity that transient time.]
Ok, they tried to make a good story by throwing everything but the sink. A reincarnated Hindu princess, the secret to immortality, scientific experiments, a dorky guy with a jealous girlfriend, a megalomaniac villain, a funny villain tribute, Hollywood action scenes, ancient temples, fairies, mutating humans, super powers… And all that in about an hour. IT’S TOO MUCH! It’s one thing to want story in a hentai and a whole other to cram a 12 episode series in an hour. It doesn’t work! It has its moments of greatness but it mostly is a big WTF.

CHARACTER SECTION: 3/10 [This is not Hoshi no Koe!]
What to expect in only an hour, where most of it is jokes, action and lame sex? Nothing! Just undeveloped archetypes. Your typical cast is here. The dorky male, the gentle female, the neurotic female, a horny guy, a bad guy, a funny guy. And by the way, they are mostly distinguished by the jokes and the action. NOT the sex.

VALUE & ENJOYMENT SECTION: 1/10 [What exactly are we watching here?]
It’s too small. It’s not that funny. It’s action scenes are not that great. It’s sex scenes are only 2 and are practiscally TERRIBLE! It’s more of a ecchi comedy than a hentai series. So… rock bottom!

VERDICT: 3.5 / 10
The real Kamasutra is a lot more than this thing. read more
