Detroit Metal City

This has to be one of the first series that actually made me crack myself laughing. The show has a lot of dark humor in it, if it's your thing give it a try, doesn't matter if you even don't like death metal.

I think the site synopsis isn't very clear so I'll give it a shot. The story focuses on Souichi Negishi, a professional guitar player who after graduating from college I guess decides he wants to work on music, and his songs are all romantic pop, quite mellow innocent love music so he has this dream of having a bands like his heros from ... France or Sweden, can't remember... Yeah, it never happens, instead he joins a death metal band as frontman singer/songwriter, why? He needed the money I guess, so he starts this project which has just signed a record deal named Detroit Metal City (DMC).

The story is quite simple, you could say episodic, Negishi lives this crazy rockstar life but he isn't very proud of it, also he hides his identity from fans and friends so at times it makes him lose it, we see a lot from his disgrace also trying to impress a girl who basically hates metal bands. The art/animation is very good, very decent.
The sound is one of the highlights, the music and the voices play an important role in DMC. The characters are nothing special, also there's no development but actually the story doesn't need it. As I wrote earlier, this show will make you crack laughing take my word. Overall, it's very good, short length, the only thing I need to warn is there are some adult subjects.

Alright first of all i need to mention that if you strictly reject Metal music, or have a hard time tolerating dark humor then you might not want to watch this OVA .
The story is about a young country boy, Negishi that decides to go Tokyo to make the music he's always dreamed of making which is basically romantic/relaxing guitar melodies, but ends up being the Vocalist and lead guitarist of the upcoming death-metal band Detroit Metal City (DMC). This series truly cracked me up, and got me excited with one of the best Opening themes I've ever heard. There's also a ... lot of awkwardly funny events involving sexual harass, a little bit of nudity and some mosh-pit related over-excitement so to speak :P . Negishi is a shy boy by nature, but as tends to reveal his "Demon King " side when he his provoked and that's how the funny scenes unfold .
The story isn't something amazingly stunning, but it's very funny and i think the music is definitely one of a kind . I'd say it's satisfactory for my humble metal taste at least .
Finally i want to mention that if you decide to watch this, don't be too serious watching it. It's extremely awkward, but that's what makes DMC . Also be prepared for "Rape " scenes . Don't worry it's not hentai xD

Detroit Metal City isn't funny, when it ends.
+That anime has short openings and endings, there is plus. I don't know how that second one ends, because I was already on the next episode :D
-Graphic was bad, but still enough to get really good final effect.
+My watching was almost by all the time rolling on the floor and probably because of that it gains high score. My diaphragm still hurts, hehe.
+Story was simple, main of this anime was music and comedy, that is what I was expecting from this anime.

My only 2 wishes were that these were full length episodes and that there were more episodes coming!

When Negishi's ability to compartmentalize his true self from that of Krauser starts to crumble the situations become absolutely hilarious. It's what this entire anime is about and it's fresh and wonderful to watch.

Easily the funniest and most over-the-top anime I've seen.

Negishi, a wimpy mama's boy with a bad haircut and taste for sugary pop music moves to Tokyo and ends up as Krauser, the demonic front man for Japan's most evil death metal band DMC.

His struggle to keep his two lives and identities separate is hilarious to watch. Negishi plays sappy acoustic pop songs and is too shy to make a move on his crush (a sweet girl who utterly loathes DMC), while Krauser promotes his band through violence, destruction, and pretending to rape everything in sight (yes, even inanimate objects).

If you're easily offended, stay far FAR ... away from this show. Fans of rock and metal will get the most out of this- DMC is a parody of metal bands, and they're clearly inspired by musicians such as GWAR, KISS, Ozzy Osbourne, Alice Cooper and Marilyn Manson. If you're in the mood for more animated mayhem, check out the American cartoon Metalocalypse.

I see this anime as a giant leap towards being adult. While I'm tolerant of every joke, rape and murder jokes aren't a problem for me, at some places I had to pretend I'm not watching it to protect my virgin eyes.

My favourite things in this anime were voice acting, crazy fans and, of course, music, since I'm actually a fan of metal, but searching for good bands is like a chore to me. Voice acting seems very monotone sometimes, which adds to hilarity. But the fans, who seem really idiotic like a stereotype of metal fans made by old geezers and religious mothers, are ... the best. Everything the members of the band do are like something godly (no, wrong word, demonly maybe) act. Tripping on a police officer is seen as awesome rape by the fans. Saving a female member of a rival band from a fire is seen like "he saved her so he can rape her later again". But if you find it offensive, please don't watch it at any costs - the show basically consists of that.

now THIS is just the kind of anime for me. Detroit metal city is about a loser guy with no life who becomes a metal god in the underworld. it is absolutely friggin hilarious. i mean, you can cry because this is so funny. i have a couple of death metal friends and they behave exactly like the guys from the audience of this anime. well, calling them friends is a loose term. because fanatics are nuts and i think this anime does a great job showing you that.

i never laughed so much watching anything, and seeing as how i don't know much anime, ... this is the funniest anime i saw so far. RAPE!

Detroid Metal City or DMC is about a young man called Soichi Negishi who finds himself as the lead Krauser II in a death metal rock band even though he would much rather be a solo artist performing love pop songs.

Firstly the story is very engaging and funny, the humor can be rather dark and filthy with it's it's strong language, sexual harrassment and comedy violence but it sets the tone with what the band and Krauser II are all about. It's fun to see Negishi use his alter ego Krauser II to his advantage through his day to day situations and events, not ... for selfish reasons but rather for helping out others, getting himself out of tough scenarios and for pleasing his manager the 'President'.

The characters are very refreshing and funny, Negishi is a very polite soft spoken man compared to the filthy mouthed violent Krauser II, it's great to see him as his alter ego, particularly in situations to get him out of hot trouble. The other supporting characters are interesting such as the Death Records Manager called the 'President' who doesn't take no for an answer and doesn't take fail too lightly, there's Masayuki Wada as the bassist who would much rather be in a visual kei band, Terumichi Nishida the drummer who speaks few words, and Nashimoto Keisuke as the S&M mascot of DMC called the 'Pig of Capitalism' who get's beaten and abused on stage. Lastly and importantly there's the love interest of Negishi called Yuri Aikawa, and of course, the fans of DMC. The fans make the episodes very entertaining, they're funny, crazy, over the top and treat DMC and Krauser II as the holy grail, such as punching and fighting anyone who opposes Krauser II's name and creating rumors and legends of the band. There is not much character development except for Negishi but it is cool to see the back story of some of the characters and how they act outside of the band.

The animation I find is really good, it's old school looking but I think it adds character to the story. I find it rather appealing and goes well with the softness of some of the characters and it goes well with the more edgier scenes with the band. It doesn't distract at all and I think it gives such a lovely distinct style to it.

The music is very good, it sets the tone for each scene whether it's whimsical or comical. The opening song shows the type of music that DMC plays and while I'm not much of a death metal fan it did grow on me. The ending song is more soft pop and that's what I like about the opening and ending song, it shows the opposites of Negishi and Krauser II.

Overall I enjoyed this anime and I would recommend it, it made me laugh and kept me engaged throughout the whole experience. The only disadvantage is I wished it was longer as it has only left me wanting more but I know it'll add to the fact I'll most likely watch it again in the future. There could have been more closure to the story or more insight into the characters but overall this anime is fun to watch.

Detroit Metal City surprises, shocks, and cracks us up. Anime heavily uses dark visual gags, offensive dialogues, and slapsticks. It employs a stereotypical image of death metal to satirize people’s perceptions of the musical genre in the society. But what defines its humor is Negishi’s sense of embarrassment and lack of self-acceptance towards his inner self.

Negishi is a college graduate who loves Swedish pop and is passionate to pursue his dream of starting a pop band. Events take a different turn when he ends up being the lead vocalist of Detroit Metal City, a Death Metal band. He undertakes the stage name Krauser II and ... portrays a polar opposite persona of him. Krauser II is expected to be obnoxious, violent, abusive, and a misogynist. Krauser II is not just a band persona but also a part of Negishi’s hidden personality.
Anime begins with Negishi’s guilt of joining a death metal band. He is constantly soaked in shame and embarrassment for making this choice. Throughout the anime, he is conscious of what people are thinking about him. He is aware of people’s perception towards Death Metal and his strong people-pleasing tendency makes it harder for him to accept his reality. Negishi’s dual personalities are always in conflict with each other. He tries to suppress his emotions during tense situations. In most cases, he fails and his personality switches with that of Krauser hidden within him. Krauser’s violent and abusive behavior makes situations unpredictable, hilarious and at times worst.
In certain moments, there is a deliberate switch between his personality, especially when Negishi feels hurt, he lets Krauser take over him. But what generates humor is Negishi’s complete denial of Krauser within him. He is constantly covering up for Krauser’s behavior to avoid judgments from society. Negishi has an intolerance towards grotesques, wild and ugly. However, such intolerance contradicts when Kauser takes over and this forms the crux of humor within the anime. But what’s truly humorous is that anime satirizes human urge to fit into the society. Negishi is one single face representing every other face that tries to suppress its inner self which consequently comes out in inappropriate times.

Don't watch this anime with people in the house as they might mistake your laughter for seizure.

I was reading the lyrics for random anime openings and found DMC's(Not Devil May Cry) opening and WOW.The lyrics were so disturbing that I immediately knew I had to watch this anime.

I am not a fan of the comedy genre but trust me.. this is worth watching.

The plot is simple or so it seems:
Meet Souichi Negishi,he has the heart of light music singer and the blood of a Metal king.The whole story is based on his hilarious misadventures in the world of music and how he faces those situations.In addition to his lunatic split personality Krauser many other characters like the manager,Jaggi,Namus,pig of capitalism all of them go in perfect sync which makes the comedy brilliant especially when Negishi does something lame and the way the manager reacts to it.

The best part of this anime was the DMC's fans reaction to what Krauser does.Those parts where they show what Negishi is thinking,what Krauser is doing, and what the fans infer from that act is simply amazing.The first episode itself had me literally crying where Krauser just slips and the crowd cooks up something entirely different.The conversations which Negishi has with himself about the stuff that happens around him is just pure gold.

There are many scenes in this anime which if you look at closely will notice the amazing writing style full of wit and humour.

The only thing which might be a bummer is the bad art and the short episode time.

Overall this is a must watch anime for any comedy fan.

Go to DMC! Watch Detroit Metal City it's hilarious and well done. There is a lot of adult humor but then again that is the best kind of humor. I dont usually like metal music but this anime made me change my mind. The relaxing way that Krauser sang about how he raped and killed his parents really touched me deeply. I'm sure Krauser will touch you deeply as well if you just give DMC a chance.

Detroit Metal City is a comedy that couldn't give a care in the world if it offends or disturbs you. It is hilariously obscene and utterly unapologetic, and I consider it a must watch because of that. An example of the kind of humor you can expect from this show, is a side character character named Keisuke Nashimoto, also known as the Pig of Capitalism. He is a small, soft spoken middle aged man who is also a hardcore masochist. His primary role in the show is to be ball gagged and beaten on stage for the amusement of the crowd and himself. There isn't ... any tea and biscuits here, this is DMC!

The story revolves around Negishi, our main character, who wants nothing more than to play Swedish pop music, get a nice girl friend and have a quiet life, while his alter-ego/split personality of sorts, Johannes Krauser II, is a loud, crass, death metal loving, rape encouraging maniac who just wants to see the world burn! Hilarity ensues, as we see Negishi attempt to balance a life of trying to popularize the Swedish pop that he is passionate about, and the rapidly growing fan following of his metal band.

The show has an almost crude art style, with barely serviceable animation quality, although if anything this helps to sell it's sense of humor, reminiscent of early South Park seasons.

Detroit Metal City is short sharp and sweet, wasting no time in between hilarity and vulgarity. It's brevity is also a blessing, as while the humor never got stale, I felt like the writers might be getting low on ideas if it went any longer. I also felt like the anime was a little too reliant on it's shock aspect to sell it's jokes; this could be considered an extension on the former criticism.

But in summary, the jokes in this show just work. Each episode is entertaining and every side character is uniquely insane. If you enjoy a comedy that is mercilessly vulgar at every moment, I whole heatedly recommend Detroit Metal City.

Detroit Metal City, when i first saw the art for this show it like so turned me away for it for the longest time. Eventually i picked this up flipped it over and read what it was about, regret filled me soon after. This anime OVA is by far one of the best i have ever had the pleasure to view. I am embarrassed how long it took me to get into this.

DMC is a really unique experience among anime, i can not name anything like it. It really took me by surprised and showed me it has like everything an amazing anime needs. Even ... though each episode is 2 segments each 6 minutes long it conveys a interesting and exciting plot. Shockingly the plot does not have a huge amount of holes or sloppiness, this show functions perfectly on such a condensed level.

The sound was amazing having actual musicians compose more than a handful of songs to comprise the soundtrack i really grew closer to the idea of this band and understood what it stood for a lot more because of it. The opening song is incredibly memorable titled simply "Satsugai" the animation video for it was what i can only describe as epic. This is opening sequence is defiantly my favorite part of this shows animation by far.

The majority of the animation is done in a soft color pallet to contrast the dark under tones of the time spent in the Metal world. The duality of Negeshi is really focused on and emphasized in almost every aspect of the show. Though i would expect to get bored of it at some point the opposite happened, they kept it so fresh when the OVA was over i picked up the manga(Very Rare). The characters are all very simple but the animation style is very unique with a different type of body per-portions and even features. The one thing i have to say is that it takes obviously a lot of inspiration from metal bands and especially the band Kiss using similar iconic face paint and costumes as well as the Title of the the band.

My favorite character of this entire series is the over the top Record Producer. Being a foul mouthed sadist with nothing on her mind other than producing the ultimate metal band is by far the best fuel for this fire of awesome. Demanding and beating her own musicians into writing new songs and living a metal life style the word "Refuse" is not in her diction.She really drives the plot forward in a lot of ways cause with out her constant abuse and threats Negeshi would be left floundering in his life. I consider her the single most important character in this show cause without her the plot would nearly never progress, even in episodes where shes not present her influence carrys on to intimidate and scare Negeshis very way of life.

The general atmosphere of the show was fun and enjoyable to watch. The pacing was good and it kept me entertained threw the entire show. They always kept things understandable for the viewer even if they had never been a fan of metal to begin with.The humor was excitingly original and unique and it can't be replicated easily. Even though it was about a Death Metal band it still did not make it ever feel really dark and scary, it kept that aspect light for the audience. The show frequently utilized the fans in plots even when not specifically at concerts or events. I really liked the fact random DMC fans would spring into action at the sight of Krauser even if it cost them there jobs.

The one thing i can say should have been improved in DMC was the focus on the other members of the band. The bassist and drummer got about 1/2 Segment each threw the entire show and not much is show about them. There is some general talking between Negeshi and them but for the most part there left a mystery. Though the Pig actually gets a portion of the show which i thought was a good touch in general since it really shows he is not just a prop and can have some development.

I really Enjoyed DMC as a fan of music and anime i can say this is a great anime. You must be able to handle the adult content and Metal music tho. The show is fun it works with a culture not seen in anime and it takes the music genre of anime in a new direction. This left me wanting so much more i wish i could only express it more clearly but in the chaos of metal nothing is ever very clear.The show is incredibly fresh and vivid and i have not had a viewing experience like it ever before. 10 across the board no part of this anime is a slacking.

I for one find death metal quite funny. So much hate and on-stage disturbia, with low growls and dangerous mosh-pits...how cute:) But seriously, death metal is one musical style that I never thought would make a good topic for an anime, but apparently I was wrong. As a matter a fact, I was quite wrong.

DMC (Detroit Metal City) is about a young man named Soichi Negishi who longed to make a living in the world of music. However, even though he had a love for Swedish pop and liked playing similar music, he instead found himself fronting one of the hottest indie bands, DMC. He ... takes on the name Krauser, and him and his death metal companions put on shows for an onslaught of misfit teens. Krauser is the polar opposite of his normal self, and the series is his very amusing struggles of keeping his alter-ego out of his personal life. This concept is brilliant in itself, and immensely entertaining. I would've personally liked a little more dramatic element, but the comedy is so good, it honestly doesn't matter.

The design for the series is pretty much normal. You would expect something way darker, but it isn't a huge setback. The design for Krauser is pretty cool, but it is the only character in my opinion that looks interesting.

The sound is what you would expect in a music anime. The OP is pretty cool and sets the mood nicely, and the other metal tracks are good as well. The tracks I love are the pop tracks, because they are so girly in contrast. Every time they come up it's naturally funny.

The characters are fantastic. Negishi is a very well written character obviously, but the other characters are interesting as well, including the metal devoted drummer, the communist-pig who is a masochist but has a struggling personal love life, and the vulgar manager (who is my favorite character of the series.)

This series would extremely enjoyable and I have re-watched it many times. Its offensive and vulgar and I wouldn't want it any other way. Why? Because its funny as hell! I recommend this to anyone who is attracted to dark humor and funny characters. NOW....music wise, I wouldn't recommend it over other music anime, because when DMC performs, its not really music. DMC is about a band and there success, but personally I don't believe it is a music anime. So watch this for the humor, do not watch it if you're looking for a music devoted anime. Saying this, humor is where this series shines, so watch it for what it is: a gem in the world of dark humored anime.

Probably the funniest series I've seen so far, Detroit Metal City proved to be a surprise hit for me. Not being a fan of heavy metal, I was having second thoughts about watching DMC. I'm glad I gave it a shot.

DMC tells us how Negishi survives having two completely different identities: his original self - a sweet guy who enjoys singing pop and making friends; and his alter-ego KrauserII - the front guy for the death metal band, Detroit Metal City. Wondering how he tries to satisfy the people in both worlds will keep you watching.

Poor Negishi was so confused with how he lives, ... and his confusion and panic resulted to the best scenes of the series. I loved the Tokyo Tower Scene, Tetrapot Melon Tea, and the public rape. There was never a dull moment in the series as the comedy presented really works, despite the foul language. I never thought I'd enjoy hearing the words "rape" and "kill" so many times.

Another thing I enjoyed is the music. Satsugai and Grotesque, were actually good. On the other hand, Sally, and the one about baked tarts and stuff was really cute and humorous. Oh and don't forget Detroit Moe City.

However, I was disappointed with how the series ended. Throughout the series I was looking forward on the day Negishi would finally live an honest life. The last episode was good, but it wasn't good enough for me to successfully end the series.

This is one of the funniest things I've ever seen - not just in anime, but in life. The similarly recommended Cromartie High is also very high on the list for many of the same reasons. If you want to laugh until your lungs collapse, this is probably high on your list - the gags are well-executed and there are an abundance of them.

First off, I didn't know what to expect from Detroit metal city (DMC) but gave it a chance and am glad I did. the story is about Negishi, moving to the city of Tokyo to become a popular musician who also loves Swedish pop and green tea but due to some circumstances becomes the fronting man of a death metal band, as Krauser II. Negishi actually despises death metal and his band DMC even more wanting to constantly quit but cant due to other sub components. Negishi is often misunderstood and in this situation it works out hilariously. His manager is a vulgar character often ... swearing in English followed by saying shes "wet" and yes i do mean in the sexual way. You may not be a fan of the art style but everyone has there own preferences. For the time allocated on these OVA's there isn't much character building but it shows that each individual possesses a unique personality. It's only a shame that there was 12 OVA's running for 13 mins but I wouldnt have it any other way.

If you are looking for something new to binge watch then give DMC a try you may just like it. Btw the music is well composed, appropriate for an anime about "music".

The biggest sin mankind has committed is to not give this anime the status it deserves. After watching this for 3 whole times, I feel that my opinion is pretty warranted and necessary to enlighten you uncultured weebs about this.

A village boy who dreams to be popstar accidentally becomes a demonic being who has risen from the fiery pits of hell itself in order to bring the world to its knees and lord over all mortals (in indie death metal world). You heard me right he accidentally became a fucking satan. The only other time such an unprecedented massive accident happened when Trump became President ... (cues laughter track). The following episodes track how he strives to be a pop star but somehow keeps cementing his name in the metal genre. This earns him fans(read as preys) who would do anything for him and support his rapist tendencies, no matter what. Also, he has a crush who likes pop music but the Demon emperor rapes her with his heavy metal skill. He fucks his crush, his landlord, and the motherfuckin police. He makes his manager wet and does S&M with a small man. Thus this is a freakin hilarious sol anime about a demon lord who rapes mankind for fun.

Art is just like a demon lord would like- horrific. It doesn't stand out in any noticeable way. The animation is sort of raw and almost poor when you look at other anime. The demon is almost cartoonish so as to not scare his subjects. The people are pretty simply animated most times almost telling people that even if we just narrated the story, you would still laugh. But don't let such foolish stuff distract you from the mind-blowing direction this anime has going for it. Scenes are split as per necessity. The anime has all kinds of the shot from a wide one to the small one like a manga panel, all with the flow of a river. It is almost like reading a manga. This is the devil telling us that he created a perfect anime manga chimera-Manime if you wish to know its name.

Finally, what more can I say? If you want to laugh while watching a cosplayer rape innocent people, watch this.

Hilarious, crude and just the right length.

PLOT: Ah I loved this series! Its an excellent parody of the death metal music genre, has some truly hilarious moments and best of all its quite short so it doesn’t become stale when its apparent that the series has very little depth. The main character Negishi/Krauser is brilliant – his split personality is the major source of the humour and his constant neurotic narration means that he’s really the only character with any kind of depth. The rest of the characters are really just caricatures, but they are lots of fun to watch – favourite has to be ... the foul mouthed female manager, and the insane fans with their off the wall imaginations! DMC doesn’t have much depth and the jokes are inevitably recycled, but because of its short running time this isn’t a big problem – its over before you really notice.

ANIMATION: Nice original character designs – DMC has a style all of its own and it works really well for this series. Interesting use of changing aspect ratios too – made even quite static scenes seem dynamic!

MUSIC & VOICE ACTING: Well most of the music is loud raucous metal with lots of profanity, the rest of it is so sugary sweet its cavity inducing! This is a reflection of the two sides of Negishi’s personality though so its highly amusing and the music is a vital part of what made this show so inspired! This duality is further empathised by the OP and ED being so utterly different – the OP is by DMC and the ED is one of Negishi’s preferred compositions. Voice acting was brilliant too – Daisuke Kishio and Yuji Ueda switch flawlessly whenever Negishi has to turn into Krauser.

All in all an extremely amusing series, but not for those easily offended by excessive profanity!

Seeing how money hungry the KISS guys are, I’m surprised they didn’t file any lawsuit.

Story:
The idea is ingenious. A happy-go-lucky sissy who just wants to make boring ass radio pop somehow ends up fronting the most notorious Death Metal band of Japan. The jokes pretty much write themselves. But I still have to give credit to the writers, who managed to make every scene as hilarious as possible. The fans of DMC turn everything into an insane memetic story in an instant and Negishi’s untrve behavior manages to make him seem even more legit. Sure, there is some plot convenience at work, like the fact ... that there are so many people actually listening to that music, but for a comedy show that isn’t really an issue. It should also be noted that this is a black comedy. At least half of the punchlines is rape or murder, so if you are triggered by this stuff, by any means, stay away from this anime.

Art:
It’s certainly not the prettiest anime to look at. It’s a bit similar to what One Punch Man (the webcomic) and Mob Psycho look like, but a little more polished. The character design is simple and works towards the gags more than it tries to create memorable looks. The animation is good and much like the designs, it’s used to assist the jokes instead of being flashy. It can be flashy at times though, some of the concert scenes are pretty cool.

Sound:
The music of DMC is pretty damn cool. However, I think their sound is more reminiscent of Thrash Metal, while their look is inspired by Black Metal, but most people will probably not know the difference. It also doesn’t really matter, since they are a joke band anyways. But if you like metal in general, their songs are good and their hit single (which also happens to be the opening) is catchy as fuck. There are a couple more artists in this show, covering the genres of Punk (or more specifically Riot Grrrl), Hip Hop and sugar-coated pop, the last of which is solely used as joke fodder. Same goes for the music Negishi plays in private with one of his tunes used as ending theme. They are a hilarious contrast to the DMC songs filled with rape, murder, rape, satanism, rape and rape.

Characters:
Negishi as a character has to walk a thin line. He is supposed to be likeable, yet is also the victim of most of the comedy of the show. I think they managed to balance this very well, the duality of his character is simply hilarious, as are the situations he keeps finding himself in. I believe that the only thing funnier than corrupting the innocent is doing the exact opposite and that is the basis of his character. The rest of the cast are merely means for the purpose of getting this to work. I found the manager to be way over the top more often than not, but most other side characters have perfect comedic timing. Some of the funniest scenes involved Aikawa and how Negishi keeps fucking things up. And of course the DMC fans were fantastic, making shit up on the spot to further increase the legend of their favourite band, not unlike what real life fans of some bands do, only played straight, making it even funnier.

Enjoyment:
This has to be one of the funniest comedy anime I’ve seen in a long time and the fact that it is also about Metal makes it even better. The humour is completely over the top and very tasteless most of the time, which I have no problems enjoying, though some (or many) people inevitably will. However, if you are okay with the subject matter, you will be in for a treat. I was pleased by the fact that DMC never overstayed its welcome, keeping the episodes short and to the point. I don’t know how much longer this gag gimmick could have lasted, but for a dozen short episodes it is done as good as it possibly can be. Sure, there are things that could have been more to my liking, but the things that matter are there.
