These two shows have a very similar premise and are inspired by the same type of Japanese legends. They also have the same general feel and aesthetic.

- Special Mary Sue with super special power to see spirits, very kind very quiet very used to being alone - Sudden marriage to mean looking supernatural entity, but haha it's okay because they can be really good looking haha - Male MCs are really creepy and say unacceptable thing but haha it's okay because they're good looking and aren't human haha - Make lots of other supernatural friends along the way KnY protag is more plucky than MnY as a result of a more healthy upbringing, MnY protag is extremely emo. Both have tragic pasts enhanced by cringeworthy writing. KnY is set in Japan with Japanese supernatural creatures  read more

This two anime have same main character who are really good at cooking and even the boy main character in this two anime are extremely powerful. They even have same act like how the main girl character got kidnapped and had to live in the main boy character clan.

Both are centered around a ryokan, Hanasaku Iroha is set in our world and Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi is set in the spirit world.

Ordinary humans from our world are cooking in another world. Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi has a romantic plot as well.

They both have an MC that gets sucked into the dealing with ayakashi/youkai because of a debt. Both MCs work hard at their new job while slowly getting to know the ayakashi/youkai and become friends.

both anime have the female protag forced into an arranged marriage to men of high standing with very cool personalities one over a debt and the other because of political reasons both have lead that suffer great trauma one being abandoned by her mother a the age of 5 and the other treated like servant after her mother died (and her father married his mistress) and when she was found not to have magical abilities both find their future husband not as cool and uncaring as they publicly appear and both growth in strength both magical and mentally

At first, it may not seem they are similar since Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi is based on the realm where ayakashi live and Soredemo Sekai wa utsukushii is based on a fantasy world with many different kingdoms. However, the type of characters, development of characters and pacing for both stories for such developments are very similar. The heroine Nike also has an arranged marriage due to the circumstances she is in. As well as that her engagement partner is different to her in some way (characteristic wise). Despite being forced into the engagement she has a "tough to get" personalities and would prevent herself to follow  read more

Also based on Japanese folklore and interactions with ayakashi. Like Natsume, the main character has a grandparent who is well-known in the youkai world. Both anime have a laid-back atmosphere where the main character helps solve ayakashi's problems.

Both have to deal with food and competition- though Shokugeki no Souma is more competitive and has more attractive and detailed imagery.

In this anime there too is a romantic relationship between human and youkai. They are bound together because one of them has to work for the other. There are also other youkai. Some friendly and some evil ones. But ofcourse the protagonist gets saved, and we can all swoon over our dreamy hero :) hehe

both anime are romance heavy with a heavy will that get together plot both the MC has been force into a new environment one kidnapped the other force to leave to avoid being a prince's concubine. both MC are the target of political drama being close to powerful character and both do their best in new home one opening the restaurant and the other become a court herbalist. both MC are quick to forgive and very kind to nearly everyone even those that may do them harm

Similarities :- - Girl falls into a fantasy world with far eastern themes. - Girl is a bit of a Mary Sue with her being the only one that can be described as "normal" - Girl has brown hair and eyes... because normal. - Romance plays a major role. - Hints at a reverse harem. Differences :- - Fushigi Yuugi dives deeper into Chinese mythology and character development - The art is more stylized in Fushigi - The main girl is proactive in Fushigi, In Kakuriyo she just stands there and things happen around her.

Two 2-season cour romance fantasy animes with a human girl MC and a male MC who's another being, males in both are of the highest authority in their setting too. There is serious stuff happening in both with light hearted moments mixed in as well in their fantasy settings and both female MCs go through a lot of hardships and trials overcoming obstacles thrown their way. The main difference is that Kakuriyo has supernatural beings that have more human-like properties whereas Niehime is mainly full of anthropomorphic characters but with some supernatural aspects too.

Kakuriyo's art isn't as pretty as Sugar Apple Fairy Tale's, and the plot is completely different (it's sort of a forced bride/marriage situation) but the vibe is similar. ML is powerful and mysterious and kind of teases/dotes on FL. The FL is good at making things (in Kakuriyo it's just normal food though). There are barely any romantic scenes in Kakuriyo but there are hints of something. It's even less of a hint than what you get from SAFT. You do get the feeling that ML really cares for FL though.

Only based off of the first few episodes, but these two anime's give me the same kind of vibe. They are both based around an inn who takes care of godlike or mythical creatures. There are some differences like Konohana Kitan is all girls and they are taking care of the maintenance of the inn, which Kakuriyo doesn't have the MC doing that. And Konohana seems a little more light-hearted and fun while teaching some morals/lessons in a comedic or sweet way which I have not seen exactly that it Kakuriyo. Granted it is only the like second or third episode. Overall I felt a similarity  read more

In both stories, the central character is a girl who finds herself dealing with dealing with supernatural beings. In both cases, these include some difficult characters that the girl eventually wins over with some effort. Their personalities are somewhat different but overlapping. FB's Tooru is incessantly cheerful and optimistic, whereas Kakuriyo's Aoi is more precocious and incorrigible. Both make frequent references to who raised them, though they are vastly different from each other. Tooru's mother was an inspiration not only to her but everyone else she met, whereas Aoi was abandoned by her mother and raised by her grandfather, who we learn was quite a  read more

Both have to do with supernatural beings where MC has to get used to the new environment and are immediately known to all supernaturals due to their ancestry. Both animes have the same low priority, but interesting plot vibe to it.

Even though Kakuriyo has much more drama and romance, Rokuhoudou also fills that gap in your heart where you want to look at beautiful food.

Both animes are traditional shoujo animes where the main character can see ayakashis/ghosts. They both befriend and live together in same household. Lots of romance and wholesomeness going on

Somehow the spirit world and "Hell" have the same feeling in these anime.

A girl lives surrounded by youkai. While Kokkuri is a comedy and Kakuriyo is more of a slow romance, they're both reverse harems involving Japanese mythological beings, so there's a good chance you will like the other if you like one of them.

This is based only on the first episode, but the plotline and setting are somewhat similar- Girl gets thrust into a world of youkai and has to find a job. Romantic subplot, demons, spirits, japanese bathhouse - style setting and GORGEOUS background artwork.

Reverse harems involving a girl who must pay off some ridiculous and mostly unwarranted debt. Romantic subplots and shoujo as heck. The settings are of course different, but the overall appeal is similar.

Youkai Apartment has a really similar feeling to Kakuriyo, both are chill anime you can kick back and relax to! It's got the same feel good vibe! Both MC's can see and interact with spirits unlike the people around them, both of them also end up living in the same place as the spirits, also food is show cased quite a lot in both anime, though in Kakuriyo more so as it's actually about cooking whereas in Youkai Apartment it doesn't show the actual process of cooking nor the trials involved with it because the food is already prepared but it's still frequently featured!

Similar to Aoi, Inari can't ignore those in need of help and is very considerate of others. This is the story of a human who befriends a fox deity. It has supernatural elements, a charming love story, and enchanting scenery.

Seems to be to the same demographic. Attractive art, interesting concept, but the plot is not too heavy/too cliff-hangery. A good light watch for some pretty faces. MC is on the bubblier, airhead side but it's nothing unbearable. Great seiyuus too

Seems to be very different but in actuality, both shows feature a strong female lead who is intelligent, mature and kind. They both solve problems for the people around them and give off nothing but positive energy and empowerment. I would say both series remind me of Fruits Basket as well, again with the strong female protagonist who selflessly helps people around her. Highly recommend all three of these shows, they won't disappoint!

While Noragami is a bit darker in nature, both share a supernatural element of a human girl getting involved with the world of supernatural beings, demons, spirits etc. There are hints of romance, but the main focus in both are the adventures between the human and supernatural beings.
