Yakitate!! Japan

Both are bassically cook off battle shows (though Yakitatte is so specifically about bread) that feature over the top reactions. shokugeki is bassically a more ecchi, Shonen battle oriented version of Yakitatte Japan. The reactions are a bit more lewd and random (not too dissimilar to Toriko). Thus far it's seeming to focus a lot more on the "bad-ass" aspect of challenge shounen animes. And Yakitatte Japan is the more parody, slice of life oriented version of shokugeki. The eating reactions are all more pun based and referential of Japanese and pop culture. even the title is a play on words, "Yaki tate" meaning "Fresh from the oven" , and "Japan" being both the obvious English word, and Ja-pan (pan being the word for bread.) As particular over the top example. .. One particular reaction chain leads to a character full on growing spike of hair, turning blonde, and allows him to shoot beams... Anime dealing with cooking but in Yakitate Japan its bread. When someone eats said food/bread they have a reaction. In Yakitate Japan its a parody type reaction while in Food Wars an erotic one : )  

Basicly the same Anime, but with cooking instead of baking. And much newer and with better Animation of cause. 

Both of them are Anime about food. In both anime, the MCs have their unusual/extraordinary way to create food. The reaction of people when they ate their food is hilarious. They are always aiming to improve their skills for their ambition.  

They are basically the same anime -Rich girl, heir to her grandfathers empire -Kid from middle of nowhere with talent -Hilarious reactions -A bunch of food battles The main difference is one is focused on bread while the other is focused on food in general If you look closely you can see that most of the side characters in Shokugeki no Soma can be derived from the side characters in Yakitate!!! 

Because of the similar main characters and overall comedic feeling. Souma and Azuma are both very similar to each other; talented young individuals that are masters of their culinary craft. However, due to their unorthodox methods and nonchalant personalities, they unknowingly get a bunch of other characters sucked into their crazy antics. What follows is over the top comedic reactions to the food making and eating; high stakes cooking showdowns; and a vast knowledge of food preparation. While Food Wars is all about gourmet cooking and Yakitate Japan is all about bread, they both have similar comedic flair. Big difference is Food Wars has much more appealing production value. Though if you don’t mind the retro style and are hungry for more cooking madness like Food Wars, I believe Yakitate Japan is worth a try.  read more 

Similarities: - feature anime food. (Shokugeki no Souma is more on cooking various cuisine while Yakitate!! Japan is focused on baking) - have determined , innovative protagonists who often get themselves into trouble because of being overconfident of their abilities or too impulsive - insane reactions to food (more fanservice in Shokugeki) - a wide range of cast members (since the protagonists have to compete with them) - intense cook-offs that challenge the protagonist to rise above the occasion - the protagonists usually launch into monologues on how they achieved their dish  

Both protagonists have been cooking since a very young age and both have cook offs in order to settle disagreements. Azuma from Yakitate Japan is all about baking bread similar to ones he tasted as a child while Yukihira from Shokugei no Souma is interested in his neighborhood diner. 

1. Both animes have young MCs who dream to make it big in the food industry (one a baker, the other a great cook). 2. Both are young culinary geniuses. 3. Throughout the anime, the MCs would meet crazy competitors, friends and side characters (occasionally, there would be normal ones). 4. Tasting their food would result in insane, out of this world reactions (basically foodgasms). If you're a shounen fan that enjoys how food looks in anime, either series are highly recommended. 

Both were animes with a culinary genre, except one was more on baking and the other is more on various dishes. Also, one was more on the international brand of beads while the other one is more on cuisines from various continents.  

Food themes and competition themes are shared. Except the ecchi-ness factor of Shokugeki, they are both entertaining, informative about cooking and leave you generally feeling good. 

If you enjoyed watching Yukihira Soma's awesomeness in kicking people's butts with his mind-blowing and clothes-stripping cooking, then Azuma Kazuma in Yakitate!! will surely impress you a lot with his over-the-top baking skills. Yakitate!! has finished airing at 69 episodes (it was really famous!) and finished its manga. If you're looking for a long series similar to Shokugeki no Souma, then Yakitate!! is the first anime you should try! Both main characters have the surprise element when it comes to competition. They have lots of overrated elite talented bastards to be defeated and talented wacky peculiar companions to help them. 

"Food comes in, clothes come off" 

It seems that SNS draws a lot from Yakitate. The same kind of over the top reactions to delicious food. Both have a comedy aspect, but I would say that Yakitate is a bit less serious on the whole. There are competitions in both. Both are about more than just food, though SNS has more character development. Both make me hungry. I think if you like one you will most likely enjoy the other. 

Anime is all about foods. Tasty and delicious food. Both MCs is always looking for new recipe and ingredients. The cook battles are intense. 

Souma and Kazuma have huge dreams and a strong will to overcome all odds. Both shows have delicious food presentations, amazing reactions, intense battles and characters with interesting personalities. Both are very inspirational and informative. 

What do you do when you indulged scrumptious food that is beyond your comprehension? Does your clothes tear apart and having orgasm or do you start imagining things and reacts bizarrely? This is what these anime about. Two genius protagonists take on challenge to serve the best foods. Yakitate!! Japan focused on the bread baking while Shokugeki no Souma touches on variety type of food. Be assure that these anime will whet your appetite while giving you laugh on the food-tasting reaction.

Both food anime with food battles. Shokugeki no Soma: MC has a talent for being a chef and enters a school for chefs. Reaction to food tasting is more ecchi. Yakitate!! Japan: MC has talent for being a baker and tries to get hired into Pantasia (famous corporation with a chain of bakeries). Reaction to food tasting is ridiculous and at most times a parody of sorts. 

Both these animes are about cooking. The cooking style & spirit and moreover the judge's reactions after testing the food are kinda similar. Though 'Yakitate!! Japan' locates in Japan 'Cooking master boy' is in China. In both cases a boy targets to become the best chef/cook in the world. 

Both about cooking. One uses everthing ingredient in the world. The other is restricted to one medium. Both comedy with drama, good fun. 

Both are about cooking, they both have competitions and both of them want to make people happy when they eat their creations. If you liked Yakitate!! Japan, you will probably enjoy this. Just keep in mind that whilst both shows are about cooking, they do have a different atmosphere. For one thing, Yakitate!! Japan is more light hearted and focuses more on the comedy than plot. Cooking master boy is more serious, but still very enjoyable. 

Both anime is based on baking. Yakitate!! Japan is focused on different kinds of breads while Yumeiro Patissiere is focused on different kinds of Sweets. 

If you enjoyed the light heartedness of Yakitate!! Japan and the cooking, then you have a good chance of enjoying Yumeiro Patissiere. Whilst it is about sweets rather than bread, there's still a lot of competitions. Both protagonists are a bit off compared to normal people, but both have rare talent. One difference between the two is that the protagonist in Yumeiro Patissiere is a girl, and that the series focuses more on the team than just her. 

Both series involve a main character chasing a dream. Space Brothers gives viewers insight as to what it takes to be an astronaut, while Yakitate gives viewers some insight (albeit exaggerated) as to what it takes to be a baker. Yakitate is probably aimed a bit more at a younger audience, as that series involves younger main characters, much more wacky humor and relies on exaggerated reactions by characters. In comparison, Space Brothers is likely aimed more at an older audience, as pretty much every character is a young adult or older, the humor is a bit more “normal”, and the characters mostly have more measured reactions. Still, if you want a series that's a wackier version of Space Brothers, Yakitate might be worth checking out. Likewise, if you want a series like Yakitate, only a bit more serious/realistic, then Space Brothers should be good. read more 

These anime show the character having an ability different from other people. In Moyashimon, it is the ability to see microorganisms, and in Yakitake, the boy has the ability to bake different kinds of bread with just his talent. 

Also an anime about a young boy cook. 

Wacky shounen battle parody with lots of cult/anime references and plenty of puns. If barely existent 4th walls, toe-ing the line on copyright lawsuits, and over exaggerated reactions are your kind of humour give Gintama/Yakitate Japan a try. Gintama is not yet completed despite many "final season"s and a "final film", whereas Yakitate Japan has a clear and definitive conclusion. Though I personally think if you're watching either for only the serious parts and the plot you'll be missing a lot of what makes these shows special. 

- they both revolve around a really talented/special boy - they both involve a really long adventure where the boy matures and becomes even more talented - both include elements of comedy; Yakitate!! Japan has more comedy though Yakitate!! Japan is about bread/baking/food/cooking. Hunter x Hunter (2011) is more about fighting/strength. Despite the fundamental difference, they both encompass a similar style!!
