In the late Edo period, Japan had experienced an unprecedented crisis by Kurofune (Black Ships), the ships from foreign countries. But a giant robot called Onigami, which has existed since ancient time, dispelled the Kurofune ships and the exclusion of foreigners was accomplished. The story begins in Japan where Meiji restoration in 1868 didn't happen. The tagline says, "I can be the greatest man in the world, because I am a virgin!!"

Well, what can I say.... there really isn't much to talk about with this series with a good report. I mean not only did the synopsis seem to have potential, basically a historical mecha series with some political overtones, but it also had Dai Sato on board with the production. If you don't know who he is, he is nothing short of a legend within the industry who composed the series, Eureka 7 but famous for his brilliant script writing in series such as Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex series and Wolf's Rain just to name a few. ...........................ok, so another mecha anime has just ended...............and I don't have much to say about this rather chaotic anime thing that combines with mecha, action, historical, harem and with some ecchi element, in fact I see this anime as something that desecrates the Tokugawa clan and its retainers, if I were one of the descendants of the Tokugawa or any of its retainers, I'd sure be suing studio J.C Staff and A.C.G.T for such embarrassment to the clan, so no more BS and here are my ratings for this anime:

Story and Character: Poor 3.

The story plot was chaotic, misleading and above all one read more

It's hard to make an overall determination on a series this uneven.

The character designs are great, and the overall art is good. But the animation really kinda sucks.

It has interesting characters and solid voice acting. Unfortunately, the story is unfocused and has some long, boring stretches followed by a wet fart of an ending.

It's a fantasy ecchi harem series set in a public bathhouse! But there's no real nudity.

Watching Dai Shogun is like watching someone hit 30 HRs in a season and finish below the Mendoza line. Mediocre in total, and that makes the highpoints so much more painful.

Fuuun Ishin Dai Shogun starts off with an unoriginal, but still decent premise. While the alternate history with mecha has been done before, the idea can still be made to work. This does not. Dai Shogun has a great start point, main protagonist Keiichiro is the long lost next Tokugawa lord and has to remain a virgin to pilot a robot that can save Japan from the shinsangumi... I think. The story has so many plot points and does such a poor job introducing them that I can barely remember them. It really doesn't help that almost all of the series is spent on hijinks, read more

Anime: Kenzen Robo Daimidaler

Both have the same mecha, harem and ecchi genre.

Both have the same guy character who is a delinquent.

One the main guy in one anime is still a virgin, while the main guy from another anime is..................I don't know, maybe he has gotten laid.

The main girl character in one anime has to serve as the guy's play thing......to increase his "Hi ERO" powers, while in the other anime the girl co pilot serves as the guy's.............I guess we'll find out.

The antagonist in one anime where.....let's just say on the horny side, while the  read more

Anime: Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari
Mecha, Action and Ecchi in both.
Both males are capable fighters in their own right and likeable without many shounen cliches.
Both males have a female watching over them stopping them from getting into any potential dangers and mischief.

More similarities to come as the show progresses.
If you like one I do believe you will like the other
