They share many elements: airplanes, young pilots, war, royalty, some type of mystery involving the sky. The main characters, Kal-el & Ariel and Clause & Lavie, have similar personalities and dynamics. Toaru Hikuushi is just more light hearted.

Main characters from both series ride on a plane. They go off on an adventure. Civil war breaks out between countries/nations and they are caught in the middle of it. They must stop the war from happening and change the world for the better. The main characters ideals/views will be tested. Stunning animation, characters, music/OST and visual are presented in both series.

Taking place in a time of warfare, both series focuses on its characters and their experiences as soldiers/pilots during such a crisis. The main male protagonist is both determined, strong willed, and has combat experience. Despite the odd relationship he has with some of the others, he proves himself to be a capable soldier during critical times of need. There is an adventurous style the way both series are presented with secrets, revelations, and a past that unfolds itself throughout their stories. Expect stellar action, drama, and also bits of romance.

Why: - Similar vibe with treatment the inconvenient people - Politician themes and shenaningans are showed from the perspectives of two people from other side - The hero's team are sent to the journey with the similiar chances of success like the 86

In both shows: There are characters who hide their real identity. Someone from the noble class is living a normal life. Characters hide their feeling of hatred while acting as good people. In Code Geass people fight with mecha, in Toaru they use airplanes.

Both shows have almost identical 15-year-old, golden-haired MCs who keep their sad feelings of their past to themselves. They act happy-go-lucky and try not to think too hard about troubles. Both were sort of nobles and want to protect a black-haired girl they just met.

Both of the anime is about war between two nation. in "Nejimaki Seirei Senki", Katjvarna Empire and Kiorka Republic, while in "Toaru Hikuushi e no Koiuta" Isla and Sky clan. Both of the main character is blessed with his comrades.

Both have great aerial combat scenes. Yukikaze is more modern themed aircraft. While Toaru is more "unique" themed. Yukikaze isn't a romance anime unlike Toaru.

Both titles are about fighting in the sky, takes place in the past, science fiction, having the similar animation style, but only genres are different: Toaru Hikuushi e no Koiuta is quite a serious Romance/Drama, and Strike Witches is an absolute Ecchi show, full of lolis and yuri fanservice.

Well, for me it's obvious. Both have: floating islands; there´s a complicated love; problems like parent's murder; lot's of identification hiding, blending in with normal people and stuff; people wanting revenge; people die; I think they're similar so i guess you liked Romeo x Juliet you'll like Toaru Hikuushi e no Koiuta or the other way.

Toaru Hikuushi e no Koiuta and Tegami Bachi both strike me as adventurous series in an open world of wonders. The main protagonists train in a profession and hope to make their dream into a reality. Both series have a solid foundation of their worlds with mechanics and backgrounds. There are rivalries going on between sudden characters as well. Toaru Hikuushi e no Koiuta has the additional element of romance while Tegami Bachi possesses more of a comedic background.

The premise and setting of the stories are very similar, with a lot of drama, romance and tactical fighting. Both very interesting series that will pull you into their worlds.

The series both hold an air of mystery surrounding the very world they live in. Both series protagonist are in similar situations, although one is a prince and the other princess, both are royalty who was unwanted and was sent to have been killed and disposed of, but were spared. They were both raised by a family who adopted them, having "siblings" they hold dear and squabble with. Consealing their identies as two unwanted royalties both protagonists experience romance and heart break. Although The Pilot's Love Song does not use magic as much as Scrapped Princess it is still a key plot device that holds  read more

-Both anime are very similar if you look at the plot rather than the art -Toaru is opposite from Attack on Titan as in the atmosphere, but same plot -Both involve with war. -The characters in both anime becomes close with each other as they train together in an academy, but in the end all know they could die anytime, any day because war is happening -Makes you connect with a lot of characters, but then tragic things happen to them -Makes you feel as if you are actually there in the war, and show you what it's like/what others go through when they are in war -If you like one  read more

Both anime are about couples/pairs piloting flying machines. Both shows also incorporate magic, and have similar atmospheres. If you liked one, you'd most likely like the other!

The cute romantic moments of Shirayuki made me think of The Pilots Love Song. An enthusiastic gentlemanly prince character going out of his way for a girl, and the girl finding a way to be prince where the prince is. In both anime they are somewhat kept apart because of social status and end up stealing time for themselves when others aren't around. Shirayuki is somewhat lighter and Pilot is a bit more serious, but both have a similar color scheme and show changes between character relations. There are similarities here and there but both shows have unique stories.

Though both are quite different, Toaru Hikuushi and Fractale give off a very similar feeling. Fractale is much more technologically advanced but still stick to rather dated things of the past similar to the setting of Toaru Hikuushi. Both these shows are an adventure, soaring into drama and romance.
