Ai Mai Mi, is a show that is apparently about three girls (Can you guess their names?) who are trying to make a manga together with no real knowledge of how to do so. At least that's what all the other synopsis' say. What it's really about is a whole lot of nothing. You heard me right absolutely nothing.

Story: 2

I actually think I'm being generous here. In all actuality there really is no coherent story past the first episode. Everything after is a train wreck of randomness with barely any sense being made throughout the entire running time of about three minutes, which is actually ...

So, Ai Mai Mi, a show about three schoolgirls, um, nope that's pretty much it. This show is a comedy and MUCH more importantly a slice of life centered around these schoolgirls and what they do on a daily basis (well, onscreen anyway). So how does it stack up?
Here is an overview:

Read below to find out the reason for this overview
Story - there is none, and that's why this show succeeds in matching the genres specified
Sound - fit for purpose, comical and not overdone
Art - shakey character design, brilliant still life and scenery
Character - couldn't be pulled off better, funny and again, fit ...

If you want a compelling story, logical outcomes, and good character development, then you are in the wrong place.

Ai Mai Mi has none of that stuff that makes "Good" anime (In a purely subjective high-horse stance) and is completely insanity and stupidity.

I loved the fla-doodle out of this show. I thought it was funny as all hell. It's absurdity made it golden.

If you wanna kick back on your nearly broken swivel chair in the dark and watch a complete and utterly short simple gag-comedy anime

Using a whole new line to make a point makes a review look professional trust me.

This anime has to be one of the most random anime I ever watch.

Story 6/10
It was so random. Each 3 min episode it had own little storyline, but the anime as a whole didnt. I give it a 6 because even though it was random it got me interested and glued to the screen making me wonder what's gonna happened next. It also had different anime references like dragon ball z, hell girl, Shiba Inuko-san, Bakugan, at some point in the anime they went from japan to new jersey. which was pretty hilarious.

Art 8/10
the art has different drawing styles to it. they would go from ...

Preliminary (3/13 eps)
I'm giving this anime a 6 because the story isn't really in 'depth'. It's basically just about a bunch of girls in a manga club. It involves comedy, and makes me chuckle sometimes. If you want a anime that will make you feel like you just did pot, then watch this. If not, then watch something else.

Story:
With no real narrative, the next thing to respond to when it comes to story is the comedy, and I can admit that there were times where I laughed out loud. It's very strange, incredibly so, and that's what makes this so hilarious. A lot of people enjoy the 'cute girls doing cute things' type of anime, but I'm a big fan of 'cute girls doing absurd things in ridiculous situations' a la Nichijou, so this was right up my alley.

Can't give it anything above a 5 when talking story, however, since there really isn't anything beyond the comedy.

Ai Mai Mi is supposedly about three girls writing a manga, well that's what the synopsis says anyway. Throughout this brief anime they seem to be doing almost anything but writing a manga aside from a few scenes where they are depicted actually trying to make it, in fact I forgot at a few episodes in that it was supposed to be about writing a manga.
However, I must forgive it because its not meant to be an outstanding anime nor one with a sound story line/plot or deep characters of any sort. Instead this is more of a parody anime if anything, with ...

This solely comedic anime consisting of 13 3 minute long episodes was able to leave me off with a big smile quite consistently. Despite not being very cohesive, just watching the (very cute) characters get into predicaments is very fun. I don't rate anime based off of importance in relation to others, of course this show isn't even comparable to something like Cowboy Bebop or Trigun, but it does it's own job just as well as those shows do their jobs.

The comedy is INCREDIBLY fast-paced, if one joke doesn't stick, a different one is immediately thrown at the wall that most likely does stick. ...

五つの単語批評❕

Insane, hilarious, pure unmitigated joy.

Footnote:

Crazy comedy shorts with the distinct aroma of a passion project. This is almost certainly not what anyone expected (or asked) to run across in their anime travels, but it may be precisely what you are looking for.

Expressive animation, sharp writing, and great voice acting make this well worth its (extremely short) run-time. You even get little anecdotes from the creators' lives during the end credits. It's a love letter to anime, and some of the best comedy I've ever been exposed to.

In the time it took you to read this, you could have seen 2 episodes - WATCH IT

What a bizarre show.

Story:

There isn’t one. I’m not joking. This show goes beyond random humor, it’s surreal. There’s no real plot progression, though certain events occasionally come into play in later episodes. The show seems set in the real world somewhat, but then out of nowhere something utterly insane will happen. Due to it’s humor being focused on surprising the viewer, and each episode generally focuses on setup and delivery of one to three jokes, it doesn’t always work. Some episodes fail to entertain, while others are incredibly great.

While I say it’s random humor, I don’t think it’s poor. There’s a difference between throwing random ...

This anime is not for me. I had to endure it, i didn't enjoy it. The only moment i do say i found funny was when in episode 12(Spolier) Ponoka got eaten. This anime failed to entertain me, however if you like childish random comedy this might actually be for you!

If you like this type of comedy, i want to recommend the anime "Teekyuu". I do say it even makes a better job at this type of humor. It has 9 season but fear not all episodes are short and around 2 mins!

The thing i can respect about this anime is the Art style! ...

This one is a bit different, and it's a difficult to "get" at first. There's a lot going on in the very short episodes, and it can easily seem random and ridiculous in a bad way. The problem with short episodes is that it's difficult to show everything and be funny and keep the viewer's attention all in 2 minutes. This is where Ai Mai Mii could have done better, not so much that the jokes weren't funny or that there's too much randomness. I honestly wasn't that impressed the first time I watched it, but after seeing it a few times, the characters start ...
