After trawling through the database I came across a little known item called Neko Rahmen. Once reading about and also hearing that it was to be broadcast on Vuze I thought I'd give it a shot. However, I was ultimately left feeling somewhat disappointed.
Story: The anime essentially revolves around a cat which runs a ramen noodle restaurant and his only regular customer. Although at first it looked fairly promising, it almost inevitably became quite repetitive. Don't get me wrong, there were some episodes that were absolutely hilarious, but they were too few and far between. Let's just say variable to say the least.
Animation: Now this

was probably the best feature of the anime. Since every episode was directed by a different person every episode had a unique look about it, ranging from the apperance of child-like scribbles to the very elaborate. It was always interesting to see how the art-style varied from episode-to-episode.
Sound: The voice actors I thought were well chosen and the voices seemed to fit quite nicely with the characters they were portraying - although the cat's voice did grate on me a little. I also quite liked the opening theme :) .
Enjoyment : The only reason the enjoyment rating was only a six is simply because, for a comedy, I didn't find it funny enough to really thouroughly enjoy it, even though as mentioned above, it did have its moments.
Overall, I would have to say that if you have the means to watch this anime, then by all means do so and help add to the other (at time of writing) 16 people that have already completed it. A few more jokes and it would have been great but as it is, it's decent enough. You've got nothing to lose, why not give it a try :D .

Well, this is a tricky one to review as it's something that most people will have mixed feelings about as the original Kite was a very interesting work in its own right. But as you can see from the ratings I'm part of the contingent that liked it.
Story: First off I'll start by saying that I thought it was very interesting that they made a non-hentai sequel to a hentai-pigeonholed movie. Whilst the original focused on a gritty underworld story of corruption and violence (which featured nudity), Kite Liberator takes a completely different tact and focuses more on a kind of action-based sci-fi plot. might say that the absence of sex scenes makes the anime not seem like a true sequel and I would have to agree to some extent, but I feel that to do a sequel too similar to the original would have inevitably not have been as good. Now, back to what's at hand. The OVA in general is quite well paced. Even though it is only an hour long in length, the way the plot is constructed makes it feel like a full-length movie. In it's own right, the sci-fi plot is quite entertaining but I was disappointed with massive leap in terms of content from the gritty original to something completely fictional. At least with Kite you could imagine the events happening in real life.
The story element is something that most people will have differing views on but I think 7 is a fair score for this component.
Art: Well, I have to say that this was one of the standout features of the OVA. It was excellent, to put it simply. The combination of computer graphics as well as more traditional constructions made it very pleasing on the eye. Everything was well-rendered or accurately drawn and this component stood out justifyably, fully deserving the 10.
Sound: Another case of "doing what it says on the tin". The themes worked well with the scenes throughout and the sound effects and timing were spot on. The stereo effects were really accurate and made listening to the movie through headphones much more enjoyable than through standard speakers.
Characters: I felt you could empathise with the characters in the story quite well in a similar way as you could for the first movie albeit for different reasons. The main character really kind of reminds you in a lot of ways of Sawa from the first film. The only problem I had was that story didn't fully explain some of the character details and I was sometimes left wondering about a particular part of certain characters' backgrounds.
Overall, I would have to say that whether or not you've seen the first film, this is something interesting in its own right and it something well worth watching even with some of the issues that exist within it. 8/10

Again, another short from Shinkai Makoto.
First off this isn't really a proper "anime anime" really. It's actually simply a kind of music video for which the art was constructed by Shinkai-san :) . It's a very short special item so there isn't really much to review for it but it is a fairly entertaining item to simply add to your list.
Story: Well, it is basically as mentioned above and is about a women and her hamster.
Art and Sound: The music itself to which the anime is set is pretty decent. It to me sounds a bit like it could be an opening theme to a

tv series of some sorts possibly. The art though is pretty gorgeous within the context of the style. Everything is nice and crisp and the hamster looks really cute (although strangely huge for a hamster).
Character: Not much to say, not really a 'character-based' anime since it's a music video but the they seem cute enough.
Overall: I would say if you've got 2 minutes spare or you fancy a complete collection on your anime list of Shinkai Makoto works then this is something certainly to watch. What have you got to lose? (Plus, it's probably taken the same amount of time to read this review as you would watching the anime :D)

Story: Well, first things first. This isn't a Hentai in the 'traditional' sense. To call it so would be a misrepresentation of the movie. It's more of an action-packed drama which happens to feature nudity which actually fits with main plot. The synopsis pretty much sums it up and is essentially about a 'hit-girl' (as opposed to hitman).
For what is essentially and hour-long anime, it really packs a lot in there. Lots of bloody violence which is nicely balanced with the more emotional side of things (plus some nudity to add to the dimension of things). I felt the plot moved at a nice

even rate and I didn't feel bored at any point.
Animation: Well, for a 10 year-old anime is was very well animated. Everything looked smooth and sharp and the slightly more 'old-skool' style simply added to the grittiness of the content. The fight scenes were one of the highlights as the choreography was really well done and really got you into the scene.
Sound: Does exactly what it says on the tin. No particularly memorable themes or anything but the sound effects were exactly as you would expect.
Character: Without giving too much away. The characters developed well over the course of the anime and you empathise with the main characters and end up disgusted by the way some of the others treat them in such a way that you expect the director was aiming for. A definite plus.
Enjoyment: As you would expect I enjoyed it quite a bite due to the reasons mentioned above and I wouldn't be against possibly watching it again.
Overall, I would have to say that if you're looking for some proper hentai then look elsewhere, but if you want to see a good piece of quality anime then this is something I'd recommend :) .

Well, what can you say for an anime that lasts 1m 27s :S.
It's essentially a type of romantic thing that i suppose is fairly typical in theme to much of Shinkai's work. It's a sort of silent movie with two characters simply talking about their relationship. Everything within is essentially designed to be simplistic, from the b+w colouring to the absence of spoken dialogue which I think works well within its own context. For something so short I thought it was fairly enjoyable.

Well, there's not really much to talk about since it's only a 6 min special. Basically it's a story of two mini Persocoms trying to return Chi's underwear :P
It uses, as you would expect, the same kind of animations and sound effects from the series which is always nice. It just seems overall like an exaggerated bit of humour which could of been taken from the show and is overall pretty enjoyable.
If you're a fan of the show it's simply one of those item's that can just help round off and add to the whole Chobits experience (and plus you get to see the cuteness

of Chi again, :D lol).

[Since writing this review originally, the two specials of Death Note Rewrite have been merged, this review refers to the first episode: Genshisuru Kami]
For all those who've seen the main TV series, this special episode is essentially a summary of all the events leading up until the end of L's arc in the overall story.
Story (8): Nothing new really. It simply takes the events of the main TV series and compresses it into the space of a little over 2 hours. I gave it an eight simply because it is essentially the overall story line which I was already familiar with. At first, I was

a little bored to some extent with the story as I felt it was simply a bit of a cheat from the makers as, although it is meant to be the story told from the point of view of Ryuk, it just seemed like a shortened version of the story and didn't have the Ryuk-oriented spin which I expected. It does have some new scenes in there but they probably only constitute for about 15mins of the 2 hour 10 min running time. Unavoidably also, is because of the inevitable shortening of length you sometimes miss out on some of the more comical aspects of the show (in particular, that related to Matsuda and Misa).
However, if you can get past those facts, you can actually start enjoying it. If you watch it as though it is a summary of L's arc, then you'll likely enjoy it more than if treat it as some new item.
Art (9): All the same kind of animation from the show (which was very good), since it uses mostly the clips from the show.
Sound (9): Again very good. Uses all the original music and has the same voice actors for all the new, added parts. What I did like was the way that they managed to creatively use some of the music from the series to enhance certain scenes (e.g. the use one of the themes in the scene when chasing down the Yotsuba Kira).
Character (7): I gave this only a seven as I didn't feel the characters developed as wholly as they did in the series. For example, you didn't really get to the 'cleverness' going on in the battle of wits between L and Kira.
Enjoyment (7): I would say I enjoyed it a fair bit, but as mentioned above, it was nothing much new that I hadn't already seen.
Overall (8): If you're a fan of the series then I would say that this is probably a good recap for those who want to watch the series again but perhaps don't have the time to watch it all. A few more new scenes and maybe told more from Ryuk's point of view and it would have been a 9, but otherwise still a relatively enjoyable couple of hours.

Well, as the synopsis would imply, the story for Idolo occurs before the events of the ZOE game. If you've played any of the games you'll immediately recognise the main protagonists of the series, i.e that related to the development of Orbital Frames. Anyway on with the review:
Story (7/10): I gave the story a seven as I think it flows nicely but as you can imagine for a 55 min story, it does lack the breadth of a full movie. However, the story is believable and really gets into the emotions of the characters. It also lends some understanding to the background of Viola's

character and you can get to see why Viola is so bitter in the ZOE game.
Art (6/10): Nothing particularly groundbreaking but does its job effectively enough.
Sound (8/10): The music shares most of the characteristics of the games in terms of style and fits in nicely with much of the action of the film.
Character (6/10): The characters develop quite well considering the length, but perhaps not quite enough to really get to the motivations of the characters.
Enjoyment (8/10): A quick astute dose of good quality anime, so I would say the enjoyment level was quite high.
Overall (7/10): If you're a fan of the ZOE game series then I would highly recommend this if you want to get the background into the origins of the Orbital Frame. Even if you've never the played the games, it's still a highly enjoyable OVA.
