It's natural for people to have high expectations..it's natural trait to have really.But then again there are scenarios like SnK (lol).If author is fan of the other franchice..of course he's going to make his own ending a reference to a other series - people mainly acts towards the series like they own the story/writting/ideology behind it themselves and instad 1/10 or something like that..so if something doesn't go their way in the series they just have to share it on social media and share+spread their platonic emotions.but ye..set your expectations high only if you know what to expect (like I did with Hormiya where I sorta figured out that it would summarize the whole manga in 13 eps).

I mean,with coffee most of it is kinda the kind of chore where you look at its bright sides even if there aren't any since you picture ''this'' and ''that'' you would swap so it wouldn't feel so akward to look back at as a whole,regarding each episode,one at the time weekly..but not always it works - there are characters that just feels like I wouldn't want to have any contant with them whatsoever

Well,sure but with the history of the studio and how it met its demise eventually,it was miracle how it got 3-cours overall.

I mean without the CD music which has these BGM tracks but the sounds of everything else is on.I played Quake II like that as well (as I mentioned),got used to it since WIN98 days where we would instal games in a way where you could save every MB we could get for extra space (lol) - you know how back in the days you had these custom,full and the minimum kind of installation..

I mean the S1 won't get impactful until the last episodes (most of the early fights feels as janky as Ex-Arm,which is just the theme of having i as a whole animed like that) so enen if you happen to drop it after 1st episode just switch to the manga and give it like 150 or so chapters.

Nah..FPS games in general and the amount of Racing games really decreased over the years (the meh ones I just play once and never go back to anyway) but ye..unless it's a period when I play something bit by bit,there's nothing much else besides animes and such.

Charlotte has it's drawback that Angel Beats was just more memoriable experience in the same amount of episodes..with its afterlife setting.Not to mention the balance of likeable cast of minor characters was also there.

''7'' is basically forgetable or something that brings me minimum experience or immersion and ''8'' can be average by todays standarts or with initially high potential that never came to me or in obscure situations something that would be sleeper hit 13-15 Years ago or h*ntai I enjoyed.''9'' and ''10'' are more of matter regarding character usages to their capacity,if the choice the series chose was one of the better ones it had on the hand or not..or if the immersion is consistent throughout the whole series or if it gradually rising from zero to pretty good etc. - basically I don't rate with numbers but more like If I respect the anime or not..for what it is,it certain cases.

Hmm,ye..though Amagami SS was to my liking back then with the possible routes for each girl...manga medium barely does that.

With platformers I play it mostly for the music that boosts the atmpsphere and with FPS games..it doesn't matter as much since with games like Half-life 1,Quake II or Kingpin I spent most of time when replaying them without the BGMs playing in the background to bring most out of it (the enviromental storytelling we could say).

Not to mention JJ2 has custom content made even to this day..

If you're willing to go through whole S1 full of 3DCGI...why not.For me personality it's the best longrunning manga..even if it has some weird decisions here and there in these intermission arcs.S2 gets better production wise..it's not fully 3DCGI anymore and with S3 being delayed by 1 year since new studio took a helm of it we can't say for sure how consistent it's going to feel but for sure is that only 1 huge arc supposed to get adapted in S3 (one of the most infamous/popular ones).You can always stick to the manga anyway (from the start) since S1 had some weird pacing here and there which resulted in forced stopping point after the first impactful moments of the story..

Ye...audio there is definitely carrying the show I would say..though people complaining about the past pace of the first episode when it was just a prologue of showing the MC his first love I would say when in reality the 6 years older girl got more out of it than the MC (if we exlude the fact that first kiss can be a huge deal in Japan xD).

Ye..it was one of the best experience in the winter season for me.Also scoring of mine is like ''tier'' for me.

It's mostly about the costs and how the high-ups approach the industry/market in general.There's higher demand for anime nowdays since it's widely popular..worldwide as well so we get way more animes per year than back then but most of them are just for promo purposes to boost the sales of course material (manga,novel,game etc.) so the production values tends to be barely acceptable so they can get profit as much as possible.Animes originals also rarely get more than 1-cour since no one wants to support something that may or not be liked by people and their ''always'' shifting tastes so they never make them with proper ending in mind but with open ending or with one where they bring the characters into a state that would make making a sequel to their lives a waste of time from theirs point of view.

You're not alone..most of the people are downvoting it since the broadcast ended,it may reach the same score like Babylon anime and I won't be surprised (since both had production schedule problems) since people of MAL are just like that and they don't really accept that kind of topic that is in either of these animes as ''enjoyement'' or great experience.
It's more about that it does storetelling methaporic way..once you get in 2nd half you may see that and it's that way because the anime has psychological genres and issue to take on to begin with so since there's limited amount of peisodes to reach the endgame and the ending they want they choose this way since this way you can flesh out the characters in different perspective (compared to the slower but cliche way where the viewer get to see the actual build up and action -> reaction kind of development which here is kinda toned down because low number episodes to work with and 4 main characters to work with..and all with complex stuff they went through in the past or still are at the moment - it's not really about being dumb but about if you go through a phase of your life where you thought and lived through the stuff characters do there..not to mention the way you would look at adults and your family for most of your life).

Horimiya did best it could with only 13 eps to work with to summarize manga that ran for 10 and half years.It's definitely pure slice of life with mostly side characters in the 2nd half of manga..and as you saw in anime end..no other couples were estabilished (besides Student Council Duo that was there from that start of the story timeline).But what can you expect...it's not like every highscooler in their school going to have the same relaitonship as our MCs - they're anomaly..not to mention the school is hard to get into so once you're in you either pour most of you into studying or start relationship where you would most likely not have studying on your head most of the time so you won't graduate most likely).

The major thing I remember is special edition having like one extra relevant level but that's all.
I see..I peeked at Kings Bouty and it looks alright as a whole..nothing I would play right away though..
Disney's Aladdin and Hercules were also lit but short platformers to get through back then.

I see - don't know really that game,these kind of games are not what I play.
I mean the DOS games I play through DOSBOX.Not to mention there are few websites where you can play various DOSGAMES from the broswer as well.Though something like JJ1+2 doesn't need to run from DOSBOX.
Ye..Sugar Rush is basically similar to that mode where Pacman gets to be on rampage and kill anything he walks through.

I have..but I don't really reply or talk there much since..no one else do and I got one just because MSN/Hotmail/Skype I no longer use after I merged it several times because of how the ownership or whatever developed or either of these over the past 15 years.

Ye..can't be helped that the times are changing.
I'm not dropping and if it's boring I mostly think about why it feels so boring if anything..either way the animes are self-centered about only 1 end-goal that they want to reach by the most ''roundabout'' way or whatever..
But it takes like 4-6 episodes to decide where the anime can end up in the best case scenario and which tempo it should keep going if it wants that stopping point being the selling point by the end of the cour or not (for example).

Animes are basically harder to make possible to make with money..there very few studios that can make longruning animes nowdays and also there are small studios that make debut like 3-5 animes per sesaon but they're just for only 1-cour and for promo purposes and with tight production schedule/resources.Which backfired for CLOVERWORKS recently....Wonder Egg Priority didn't even finsh the reworked version of anime on time and have to get out the epilogue special epsiode in summer..while Neverland 2 had only money to make another 11 eps only season and condense 145 chapters in it to finish off the story and it looked very average production wise even with the recap thrown in there as well.Only Horimiya looked fine but that one probably was in progress for a longer time and its purpose was to sum up the manga -> give it ending and hope people buy the manga as well since this and Neverland didn't reach the peak sales in quite some time..

I see..Earthworm Jim is classic - if you rememeber the ropes you can finish it in one hour xD Still replay vaue wise I prefered Jazz Jackrabbit 2 and Cpt. Claw (from the platformer genre).
There are not really games like NOLF nowdays...even its multiplayer was wacky and so fun at the same time back then.System Shock 1 had hard to get used to controls but 2nd one just went for the engine from Thief 1998 and it increased its controls to leanbility very well,along with the RPG elements and the perfect leaning mechanic and ''hold on solid object so you can climb on it'' mechanic that is from the early Thief games as well.
OST wise ye...they're unique.Year 2000 was breakthrough year for FPS games to have dynamic OSTs..depending on if you were combat or not the version of the given OST that was given that level changed (SOF 1,Deus Ex 1,NOLF 1) so you could feel the games current state and mood that it tries to imply to you.
