Was going to reply, who are you? Then saw your profile, haha. Glad things are going well.

Yup.

Hey! You're back. Still up for a game of chess? :P

Lmao my bad. Looking at your profile, I've managed to piece together you're PerfectScore. I'm surprised you're applying to grad schools. I myself am pretty burned out and tired of schooling in general. I'm planning on just working after getting my bachelors, and then might get a masters or PhD eventually. Bit ironic on how life & plans work out.

Good stuff. NYC is exciting.

People may walk at a snail's pace in smaller (or less crowded) cities, but it's usually easier to walk around them too. You can get trapped in crowds, haha.

I'm done the academic portion of my degree, yup. I can graduate as soon as I finish co-op in December. I guess I have to wait until the spring term though? Not sure.

Hey man. Yeah, it's been a while. haha.

To be honest, I haven't done any! >.>

But what about yours though?
Josh Sep 24, 2015 6:14 PM
I'm holding up well! I'm enjoying the city and the job experience.

What are you up to these days?
bbrian Sep 24, 2015 9:40 AM
I'm leaning more towards the engineering side of things but my info sec classes don't start until next semester so i'll probably figure out what i enjoy doing the most by then...

i'm pretty sure i'm gonna fuck up those psychological questions if they end up asking any
bbrian Sep 23, 2015 5:49 AM
You talking about the CSEC application? or uWaterloo (Because i ended up staying at UofT)

But yea, i have a phone interview with them. Also decided i'll be doing a specialist program for Information Security at UofT along side with Computer science (Major+Specialist)

I'm pretty fucking nervous for it, i'm really shitty at interviews.. hopefully they just let me shadow somebody or something :p
Heero_ May 10, 2015 10:00 PM
lol, my applications? I am about to finish my second year of high school xD
i like to plan ahead

i never realized how good the comp sci co-op at u of waterloo is/you're lucky af

btw what do you plan to do after your undergrad?
grad school/start up/maybe land a nice job at the bay since u of waterloo has a good reputation there
bbrian May 5, 2015 7:08 PM
Thanks for all the info, i think UOIT is kinda my last choice at this point.

I applied to Waterloo for Comp Sci and the latest acceptance is the 26th of this month i believe so i'll be waiting. I also applied for the BTECH program at McMaster for Computing and IT which happens to be a part of their engineering sector which is interesting. If i don't get into uWaterloo Comp sci i may just take the BTech offer and do a minor in Comp Sci if that's possible, the co-op over at McMaster looks a lot more appealing than UTM.

I applied to all of those as a transfer student so hopefully i can skip some classes with credit transfers.

bbrian Apr 30, 2015 10:09 PM
I'm at UTM since i live about 5 minutes away from it, i did get accepted to all the campuses though but the convenience factor played a big part. My average before the exams was 84% so i'm gonna take a guess and say i didn't drop below 80% since i felt pretty confident doing the exams, esp the Programming exam.

I didn't think of maybe switching my major to IT. Although i wouldn't know which school would be the best for that undergrad. Would Waterloo also be the best school for that major or the two that you listed (UOIT and Carleton)?. But the one thing is that i really enjoy the amount of programming i get to do in Computer Science and wonder if that will kinda drop off in a course like that. I could do without all of the math though.

What would be the difference in working at CSEC if i were in IT and not CS? I don't even see any postings on that link you showed that point to IT positions but all CS/Eng.

Thanks for the help by the way.

Okay, it's nice to talk to someone with experience. So many Uni student's i speak to at uoft are incredibly stuck up and it's horrendous.

I guess i'll find out after i get my Exam results pretty soon. If anything i can Just go to UOIT or maybe send an app to Mcmaster or something, or is that school not good either? I just wanna go to a school with a decent paid co-op program unlike UofT which is just un-paid internships :/ (Already got e-mails to work at Paypal but don't wanna be a coffee boy) and obviously my goal is to land something at CSEC.

Are you in a co-op program right now? where are you working?
