As we know from the preview, Boruto and Sasuke are out looking for a legendary hawk. What we learn from Sarada is that the carrier hawk that Sasuke has been using is retiring. Sarada is upset at the fact that Sasuke randomly leaves.
Sasuke explains to Boruto that a man named Maruta looks after the Thousand Mile Hawks. Boruto overhears that the Thunder Train is rerouting to the east because of a landslide up ahead. As a result, Sasuke makes the decision to jump off the train immediately, and Boruto obviously follows him.
The two run into a strange place, but shortly after a security chief comes along and tells them to leave. Boruto doesn’t like the guy’s attitude, but Sasuke could care less and the two head out. They arrive at Maruta’s home and they get shot by arrows. Sasuke and Boruto are able to clear things up and the three talk inside. He explains that people from Paradise (the strange place Sasuke and Boruto ran into) have been harassing him. The boss, Mozu Shitakiri captures rare animals on the brink of extinction and sells them to rich buyers. The Paradise people went from offering a bunch of money all the way to threats, which explains the collapsed boulders. Unfortunately there’s no proof, so there’s nothing Maruta can do about it. Sasuke decides to look into this matter.
So Sasuke and Boruto arrive in Paradise and decide to check things out. Before the two are about to get kicked out (because they look like they’re not rich), Boruto sees a picture of Tentou and talks about how he knows of him. Mozu immediately welcomes Boruto and Sasuke and the two check everything out. On the tour, Boruto and Sasuke encounter Mozu’s son, who will be introduced later in the episode. He was cleaning the stables since apparently no one else does it. I immediately got the vibe that he’s the only one who works around here that cares about the animals within it.
Boruto feels bad for the animals that are imprisoned here, which is understandable since they’re just being used for the sake of selfish profit. Boruto and Sasuke see the cage which is reserved for the Thousand Mile Hawk, and Boruto confronts Mozu because he now knows that she is responsible for the attacks on Maruta. But since there is no proof, Sasuke and Boruto leave, and Mozu gives a shady warning about collapsing cliffs.
Boruto tells Sasuke that he wants to help the animals, and Sasuke tells him that his habit of wanting to meddle is worrisome. This habit it probably something that Boruto picked up from his father, who didn’t meddle as much as Boruto, but always went out of his way to go the extra mile and help everyone he can.
Hinata’s match against Neji is the perfect example of just that.
Sasuke and Maruta head out to the habitat of the Thousand Mile Hawks, and unfortunately for Boruto, Maruta can only bring one person. So Boruto is left behind while the other two head off. While the two go on, the security chief follows them. Good thing for Maruta and Sasuke that they were one step ahead, so they are able to throw him off. They continue over while the focus goes on Boruto.
Boruto is sitting outside and sees a white hawk, which happens to be quite rare. Boruto chases after it and finds it with Mozu’s son. Boruto asks for the kid’s name, and he introduces Yuki, the hawk, and himself, Tsuzura Shitakiri. Tsuzura talks about wanting to get Yuki used to the wild little by little, and Boruto volunteers his help. Tsuzura tells him that he never agreed to let him help, but you know Boruto, sticking his nose into other people’s business. So the two help Yuki to learn to hunt again. Tsuzura explains that he found Yuki on the ground after she fell out of her nest, and she sustained an injury that stops her from flying well.
Tsuzura leaves, and Boruto tells Tsuzura they should meet again tomorrow. Tsuzura agrees and the two meet again. Boruto gives him a book on hawks, but he explains that he can’t read. Her mom wants him only to know what’s required for taking over Paradise. Boruto reads it to him instead, and Tsuzura is absolutely amazed by how much information there that’s written down. Boruto asks Tsuzura if he wants to take over Paradise, and Tsuzura is hesitant. He likes animals, but not the way Mozu does thing (understandable).
Boruto decides to help him out and teach him how to read. Tsuzura is excited about this, and asks his mom to let him go to school. But as the prune she is, she insists that school is a waste of time and that’s that. Tsuzura sends Boruto a message via Yuki, and he seems excited to see him again tomorrow.
Maruta and Sasuke make it to the habitat and Maruta explains to Sasuke that the hawks won’t just obey anyone. They only listen to those they’ve acknowledged as their master. Maruta has Sasuke hold out his hand and wait for one of the hawks to perch on it. He explains that it could take half a day or still be no good after two nights, but we all know this is Sasuke Uchiha we’re talking about, so that’s not happening. A hawk perches almost immediately, as we expected.
Finally, we see that Yuki was able to catch her very first mouse! LET’S GO!!! SHE DID IT! Unfortunately, this parade comes to a quick end as Mozu takes Tsuzura away and tries to force her way of life onto him, like an overbearing, restrictive, old hag. Boruto tries to fight back, but Tsuzura quickly gives up on any idea of freedom.
I can’t wait to see what transpires in the next episodes! |
