Firstly both are from the same creator, what makes them very similar just for that. - The main characters are very similar, both in talent and personality. - Same style of comedy but it's stronger on Drifters than Hellsing. - The animation/art style is very similar as well, expect the exact same style on both. I really recommend watching the other if you liked one of those!

Fate/Hellsing = Drifters. Not quite the exact same premise but famous historical figures fighting each other on a death battle.. well you get the idea. Both are action series but Drifters is more action and much less Philosophical and Ideal clashes than the Fate series.

This series is somewhat similar. They both have to do with war, both being in a different world of their own. In both anime's, warriors from a different era come to this other world and fight battle of sorts and because they are from a different era, they mostly over power they're enemies.

They both include samurai doing either really cool or goofy things. I'd argue that Samurai Champloo is better, due to the excellent music, as well as drama within the story.

A lot of common points: - Seinen - Characteristics of the main character - Feminine second character - Historical setting with references to famous events and people - Similar sense of humor

Both are historical action. In both main protagonist has once been a famous warrior, but then quit due to some unfortunate circumstances. Both were summoned again to join a war. And both eventually had to lead an army to protect his country or his people.

Both shows have got a simple minded male MC. Their social skills aren't the best but they have the charisma to make them the leaders of their group. Also, both shows are dark and have got a lot of gore.

Both have similar genres (action, adventure, demons, supernatural, historical and samurai) and the same dark atmosphere with a pinch of comedy.

Both have a powerful main character and they are both "travelled to another world" anime.

Both series are about... characters from different universes united in a world, where they fight each other. The only difference is that one has a darker theme (...right?), gory and includes real people that once existed on this planet such as Nobunaga Oda and Joan of Arc, the other has fictional characters from TV series, mangas and games.

Same premise of famous heroes / historical figures from throughout history coming through time to battle it out with each-other. If you want a similar historical mish-mash battle-royale as Drifters, Fate Stay Night is well worth checking out too.

Famous people throughout history meet each other in a battlefield.

-both mc are sent to another world against their will -same setting and genre

This is more so similarities in a one-dimensional broad sense. In terms of the style, animation and the and/gritty themes, the latter has potential to become a decent alternative.

Drifters is a series where a bunch of famous Japanese historical figures fight together. Bungo Stray Dogs is a series where a detective agency comprised of famous Japanese authors who have supernatural powers. Both shows have some bloody sections, in Drifters the blood and gore is a huge selling point. Each series has some comedy, but is serious when it should be.

Both are shows about characters living in different worlds from what they were used to. Both have brilliant minds that come up solutions on how to deal with their surroundings(Senku, and Oda). Plus, not to mention, both use what they make for future plans Both end on huge cliff hangers, sadly. But more importantly, both are about two sides opposing the other, and are definitely worth watching.

Blood spilling, swords swinging and eye glimmering - these are only a few that Akame Ga Kill and Drifters have in common. What really captivates the audience to both anime is their dark tone which allures those who enjoy action. Drifters is a story of warriors from different time and places summoned to a different reality with the purpose - to fight/kill. With different principles of morality, these warriors will do anything to gain power in their new world. Of course, they won't be met unmatched - the Ends. If you enjoyed Akame Ga Kill's gore of battle scenes, then you can expect nothing less  read more

In both anime series the MC are sent back in history in order to protect something . The only difference is that in drifters there are many other creatures like Elfs , dwarfs and others. In Katsugeki/Touken Ranbu the MC are animated swords that must protect the history and in Drifters they are warrios from different eras of Toyohisa's world who were thought to be dead.

These two anime feature time travel and having Oda Nobunaga in the main story. Not to mention these two are action-packed with large amount of blood and violence.

After learning about tanks then lets learn about some military figures in history gets transported to a new world

both use modern technology to attempt a one-up on their opponents. also a typical, black and white good guys vs. bad guys type story (this is technically recommending the second season of Dr. Stone, so i would absolutely recommend watching the first season but felt the second was a stronger comparison.)
report Recommended by Fluffabelle
really similar art design and clothes too

1. Both are related to historical characters/figures. 2. Both are action-packed and have multiple strategies during a battle Highly recommend both the series and yes don't skip the ending song of drifters

Great action and animation. The main characters like cutting heads off and love fighting. Both sides are seen as dangerous people in their respective worlds.

Drifters and Sengoku Choujuu Giga are both about Japanese historical figures in an alternative setting. They are both comedies.

Bloody macho samurai fighting, some paranormal. "Samurai Honor" warrior MC.
report Recommended by karlito77
Both are about two different factions with conflicting morals and different ideologies going to war with each other.
report Recommended by Doctor_Cragmire
Similar in a way but not the same they both bring back historic people to use in battle

Genius protagonists from earth are summoned to save the other world

A lot of fighting and main characters from the edo period. I do feel that Drifters focuses more on tactics in battle.
report Recommended by jbruisten
- Great tactics - Amount of fighting vs amount of lore - "What is this dimension we're in?" But Drifters is not a game anime.
report Recommended by jbruisten
If what you want want is a lot of action with an element(more in Drifters) of strategy in it, than you are looking for one of those two. They differ in that one is about fighting aliens(Gantz:O) and the other is about fights between historical character with or without magical powers(Drifters).
report Recommended by JokerDBlue
Kinda dark anime that have a similar animation style
report Recommended by Fozz
If its enough for you to go off of, then similar vibes. Both have a sort of darker adult motif, where there is something going on behind the scenes but you aren't sure what. And a bunch of strong people are isekaied to this world and fight... for reasons.
report Recommended by EB-990
Both stories revolve around war and aren't afraid to show the uglier side of wars.
report Recommended by G_Spark233
Both are anime for a mature audiance with a lot of fighting, gore, violence and sex. They both mix a lot of elements and themes that work together surprisingly good. I felt that both are 'cool'. They are both manga adaptions.
report Recommended by MoshiMoshiiih
If you liked how Gintama used real warriors from history in a comic manner and badass, super strength, bloody battles, you will love Drifters. However, Drifters is one step ahead by its amazing art style and the use of a completely new fantasy world and timeline.
report Recommended by Niveen_Sleem
Both are anime from fighters from ancient times, Drifters in an Isekai context and Vinland Saga in the Nordic context.
report Recommended by Thakamura
With characters being teleported to an unfamiliar location meeting new beings and fighting to survive it can be percieved as being similar
report Recommended by Leman00714
both animes have two groups of heroes, that do not belong do that world or time and they fight between they.

SIMILARITIES: - Both are dark fantasy tales with badass characters. - Each contains over the top gore and epic sword fights in a medieval setting. - Similar animation style, especially with the characters and their 'eyes.' - Monster designs are identical. Yoma/Dragons/Winged Beasts/Claymore/Elves. - Both contain a heavy metal opening as well as a similar soundtrack. - Both series also have awesome female warriors. DIFFERENCES: - Drifters has more of a modern twist. - There are guns, explosions, cowboys and even a pilot from WW2. - Japanese influences including Samurai and Ninja. - Drifters has comedy relief. Claymore does not.
report Recommended by HughesyV
Both have war and battles. Both have historical figures. If you like these things, go watch.

Another battle-focused anime with strategic and phylosophy.
report Recommended by GuybrushSimpson
If you want over the top action then look no further. It is not often that I find myself feeling bloodthirsty, but both these shows quickly managed to satisfy me, and will continue to do so in the future.
