Introduction
Before starting my review, I think that some might find interesting what I am about to say, as well as the fact that it will also help you to understand the name of this manga. I want to emphasize the following, while there are demon slayers in this manga, it has nothing to do with the Demon Slayer, we all know about. Peach Boy Riverside is based on the legend of Momotarou. The legend of Momotarou focuses on an old lady, who had no children. One day, she was washing her clothes in a river, she saw a peach coming towards her, which was carried by the current. When she brought the fruit back home and tried to open it with her husband, the two found a child, nestled in the peach. Of course, the two were happy to finally be bestowed the opportunity to have a son, whom they named Momotarou. Momo (桃) means a peach in Japanese. With every day, the child was growing and soon he became as strong as a demi-god would be. However, one day, the boy heard that on an island not far from his village, demons were terrorizing the inhabitants. Encouraged by the villagers, Momotarou decided to leave for Onigashima, literally meaning The Demons Island. Momotarou embarked on the quest to save humans from ferocious demons and on his quest he met 3 animals, who joined him. And the first animal to join Momo-san was a dog.

In a nutshell
The western continent was a lawless land, bursting with demons of all kinds. Out of fear, humans built walls to protect themselves from the invasion of the demon folk. They assembled their warriors and stayed united to be ready to counter the attack of the blood hungry demons. However, the demons were too powerful. Thankfully, the two sides were stuck in a stalemate. Until one day a traveler came...

Peach Boy Riverside looks like an RPG in a form of a manga. A princess is tired with her boring and monotonous life, she meets a traveler, who does not have to stay anywhere if he does not want to and is just free to live his life however he wants. Of course, the princess gets jealous and asks him to allow her to travel with him, and so the story starts off. At first, while it does sound a bit cliché, with time, you will understand and see the beauty of this manga. Although, I am only on the 27th chapter, there are still plenty mysteries that have not been touched upon. Nevertheless, the story is very intriguing and fun to read.

Art
The art is nothing special. Character designs are very similar to what you will see in most of the JRPGs, with bishounen that do not resemble knights at all, however, most of them looked like as if a simply sneeze would kill them. However, I adore how the manga depicts characters when they snap and start to show bloodthirst. This is something, I will never explain with words; you need to see it by yourself.

Characters
Character wise, the story focuses on the traveler, Kibitsu Mikoto and the princess, Sarutorine Aldike. What I like about Peach Boy Riverside is that it focuses on the two main protagonists, as well as gives the reader the time to know the supporting characters. In other words, all characters receive similar amount of character development, you get to know their world view, which helps you understand them and it does help you to appreciate the world of Peach Boy Riverside even more and it makes the process of reading the manga quite enjoyable.

Overall
Overall, having read 27 chapters, I still cannot decide the best way to assess this manga. On top of that, it will get an anime adaptation in summer, 2021. Both the manga and the anime can easily become a 8-9 and even 10/10 material. But for now it is a solid 8/10 and hopefully, it will only become better and better!

Ah, this is the cool-kyou shinja story telling that keeps me coming back.

Story : I've had bad experiences with fantasy stories before, mainly due to the author dumping an entire novels worth of concepts to try to explain the world in a few words as possible to the reader. Not only is this boring to the reader, but it'll lose appeal... But does cool-kyou have talent when it comes to stories and writing. Some of his stuff flops, but this manga is a great example of when he gets it right

Art: very well drawn. Great attention to detail and not overdrawn. The style is very appealing and everything flows together nicely.

Character :the strongest asset cool-kyou has, is character writing and development. At first I was skeptical due to how some characters look (frau), but the character was written so perfectly, and in the very least amount of words or actions you understood the kind of character she is. That's a great talent.

In the end, I finished the third volume and said "I need more". This would be a great anime. I know that's what every manga fan says, but this one would do very well... Or has the perfect amount of mystery, and the character interactions are so well written its perfect for the small screen. Highly recommend you giving this a try.
