The 1990s are considered a golden age for Japanese anime. Anime series and OVAs that have had a lasting impact on the evolution of anime style and culture.

*While several of these titles were originally released in the 80s, they didn’t receive wide distribution and viewership until the 90s, and so are recognized as part of anime’s Golden Age.
